Hero's Mother After – Chapter 19 A Not-so-great Acquaintance and an Empire
Serena's POV
"It's quite ridiculous. The Royal Academy shouldn't reject applicants with proper recommendations... I wonder why," Fleur remarked, her voice laced with frustration and disbelief.
I got a recommendation because of Dad's connections, but it doesn't seem to carry much weight, huh?
But it has the word 'royal' in it... I thought it wouldn't be a problem since he's close to the royal family's aide.
"Could it be that the recommenders weren't as important as I thought?" I pondered aloud, my voice betraying a mix of disappointment and uncertainty.
I guess they weren't as great as I thought they were, since they kneeled down when they met Dad.

I couldn't bring myself to say, "I got rejected because I'm not great," even though they had recommended me.
Taking responsibility for my own decision, I reminded myself that blaming others would be unjustifiable.
"Serena... no way." Demon King Lucifer's voice carried a hint of disbelief.
"Serena," Immortal King called out, his tone filled with a mix of regret and understanding.
"I'm sorry for not meeting your expectations," I apologized, my voice heavy with sincerity and regret.
With a heavy heart, I left the Demon Kingdom as it was.
[Mel's house.]
"It's been a while, Serena. You should visit more often. Big sister gets lonely."
It's difficult to say this to Mel, who is always smiling...
'It's okay, really. Even without a recommendation, as long as you have me as your guarantor, they won't reject you. You can get into any academy, even with a blank application.'
