Hero's Mother After – Chapter 25 To the Empire
Serena's POV
So this is the Galvin Empire...
The country where Mama was the princess.
I remember Mama telling me that it was a country where strength mattered more than anything else.
Though, Mama said it was a barbaric country, and she and Frey mom had a fight, but Dad said it was an expected 'outcome'.
But personally, I find it exciting to come to a place I've never seen before.
"Wow... the castle walls are even higher than those of a kingdom."
"Well, they may not actually be useful in battles against demons, but it's a symbol of the empire's ideology based on strength."
"Heh~ it's true that these walls are useless since they can be easily broken down."
"It's one thing for demons, but for humans it's impossible unless they're Hero (Yuusha) or something like that."
"I see."
Hmm, I think anybody can destroy them easily... Is that really a symbol of strength?"
Oh well, forget it.
"Welcome! Welcome to the empire of dreams and hopes! May I see your identification, please?"
When I showed my adventurer's identification to the muscular man, he let us in easily.
The place didn't look much different from the kingdom, but a part of the castle was destroyed...I wonder why.
"The castle is destroyed..."
"Oh, that! When the last hero (Yuusha), Zect, got into a conflict with the empire to protect a girl, he partially destroyed the castle. They left it that way as a symbol of strength and didn't repair it."
I remember a story about how Zect-oniichan fought for Luna-oneechan. 'Men fight for those who are dear to them, even if it means making their country or the world their enemy...'
Zect-oniichan looked incredibly cool when he told this story.
Afterwards, when I mentioned it to Mama, she grumbled, 'But destroying the castle halfway is too much.'
"Still, is it really that impressive to destroy a castle?" I asked the muscular man.
I mean, anyone can destroy a castle that doesn't move, right?
And Zect-oniichan must holding back quite a bit.
Of course, I could easily demolish a castle like that.
"Of course, it's impressive... If it's a human, it would have to be the last true Hero (Yuusha) Zect, not the current fake Hero (Yuusha), and if there are any survivors, it would have to be the great sage Mel-sama."
If Zect-oniichan's name was mentioned, then this is undoubtedly Mel-oneechan in question.
Both Zect-oniichan and Mel-oneechan must be amazing people.
I didn't know that...
If that's the case, then I might have a chance, too.
"Come to think of it, how about the imperial academy, Fleur?"
"Right, the knight training school, adventurer academy, magic academy, and imperial school are famous. I heard mercenaries learn through practical combat, so they don't have schools... However, since Serena-sama can slice iron, it is likely that you will graduate immediately even if you enter the class, and adventurers can't enter the class because they are already qualified. That may be true.

We decide to stay at a inn and take a rest for the time being.
Fleur was tired and sleeping due to riding the sky dragon.
So, I came alone to the slave trader's place.
Perhaps it is because I have dragon's blood in me, but I never get tired.
If I really try, I can live without sleep almost every day.
But it's only recently that I've become like this...
Anyway, I think the empire has three slave traders: the Ord Trading Company, Zess Trading Company, and Ace Trading Company, and they are divided into cheap, standard, and high-class... or so I heard.
Dad bought the slave from them and married them off to villagers.
Hmm, where should I start? Well, I decided to ask someone.
"Excuse me, do you know where I can find the slave traders?"
"Huh!? Slave trader? Would you prefer Ord or Ace?"
Ord or Ace?
What's happened to Zess?
"Is there no Zess Company?"
"I guess it wasn't a good idea to go halfway... they went out of business a few years ago... Now there are only two left, Aldo and Ace. The closest one from here is Ace," the other person said.
"Can you tell me where Ace is located then?"
"Sure, go right from here..."
"Thank you very much."
For now, she decided to visit Ace Trading Company.
I hope I will have a good encounter with someone just like Dad.
