Volume 4 Chapter 36 The Conclusion Of Righteousness

Volume 4 Chapter 36 The Conclusion of Righteousness

Sanctuary melts away, turning into light.

 "Yuusuke!"

 "'Whoa!'"

Before I could indulge in sentimentality, Lisha ran and jumped into my arms.

I hold her tightly without ever letting her go. I caused her a lot of worry, but this is a small price to pay.

"I, I don't know what to do, but if I can be of help..."

 "'I understand, calm down.'"

I manage to calm down Lisha, who has tears in her eyes. The battle is not yet completely over.

"'Lisha, please wait a little longer.'"

 "Yes, okay."

Leaving Lisha behind, who seems reluctant, I approach Larkan, who is still on his knees.

I pierced his heart, and even if he is a Lord, death cannot be avoided.

 However, Larkan is still alive.

While continuing to breathe faintly, he looks up at me without falling.

 "Silver."

"'If you have any last words, tell me.'"

"I am a warrior. I have no last words..."

 "'I see.'"

"But, I beg you, even if it's embarrassing."

Larkan pauses his words there and moves his gaze. There lies the body of a woman called Roze. Despite the tremendous impact, she remains untouched, as if protected by something.

"Roze was a pitiful girl. She lost her parents in battle and grew up by my side without knowing love... She should have had a family somewhere. ...She never harmed anyone other than warriors. Please let her rest in peace."

It will be difficult for him to maintain consciousness any longer. Nevertheless, Larkan pleads while coughing up blood.

"'I assure you, I intended to do that from the beginning.'"

I will not, and cannot, humiliate or disrespect the dead.

 "Thank you."

After saying that, Larkan's lips relax slightly. And then, he does not move anymore.

 "..."

I lift Larkan's body and lay it next to Roze. I wipe away the bloodstains from his mouth.

Quietly, I sense someone's presence beside me. Lisha is also wiping Roze's face. Closing her eyelids and tidying her blood-soaked hair. She does it carefully, without minding getting dirty.

"Are we really doing the right thing?"

Lisha's murmured words sound like tears.

"'We won't know if it was right or not until later. But we tried to do what was right. That much is certain.'"

"Yes, you're right. We have no choice but to keep walking forward."

We stand up. The two of them, sleeping facing each other, look like siblings or lovers. I have no way of knowing their true relationship.

But Larkan, I'm sure she didn't grow up without knowing love. Can you call someone who fought with all their might for the sake of someone important, pitiful? She also advanced in her own righteousness.

For now, I thrust my sword into the ground and release my magic power.

A red magic power envelops Larkan and Roze's bodies. It is redder and more beautiful than any flame. It carries them to the heavens.

As the magic power fades, the light of dawn illuminates me and Lisha.

"Distort Lord, Larkan Mines," and Silver Hero battle has come to an end here.
