Volume 5 Chapter 1 Visitor from the Sky

A gentle sea of clouds stretched out in the background.

On a flight from London Heathrow Airport to Haneda Airport, the estimated arrival time was before noon, the weather was pleasant, and the journey was going smoothly.

Among the flight attendants assigned to the first-class section was a young woman who was still gaining experience. She was learning the ropes while mingling with her more seasoned colleagues.

While there were a few haughty passengers in first class, most of them were intelligent individuals who suited the class they were in.

The job was demanding, but not necessarily difficult.

She always presented herself with a dignified demeanor and a cheerful smile, diligently carrying out her duties. What was crucial was grace, the ability to remain composed no matter what challenges arose, providing a sense of security and comfort to the passengers.

Amidst it all, she noticed an unusual passenger.

A couple, a man, and a woman, who had made a reservation. The woman had a scarf covering her head and oversized sunglasses that obscured her face, making it difficult to see her features.

The man, on the other hand, was a strikingly handsome young man with dark brown hair neatly braided into three strands. Despite his youth, he bore a noticeable scar under one eye, hinting at a background in martial arts.

What a good-looking man he was. Perhaps they were a couple in disguise.

"Would you like a drink, sir?"

She asked with a friendly smile. The man whispered something to the woman beside him before responding.

"Could I have a cup of tea?"

"Of course. If you need anything else, please don't hesitate to ask."

 "Thank you."

The woman remained silent, and the flight attendant turned her attention to her. Whether the woman noticed her gaze or not, she lowered her sunglasses, revealing her face.

Her eyes were as red as rubies, and they glistened. The flight attendant was momentarily taken aback but managed to maintain her composure.

 What beautiful eyes they were.

Having encountered various expensive accessories in her line of work, the woman's eyes shone brighter than any gem. She nearly forgot herself and stared in fascination.

 "What are you doing?"

The man noticed and quickly placed the sunglasses back on his companion.

——Phew. That was a close call. If the man had been a second slower, the attendant would have leaned in to get a closer look.

The woman toyed with the temple of her sunglasses, her lips pursed.

"These are getting in the way."

Her voice was like a gentle chime, a tone that no amount of announcement practice could replicate, a voice that was truly heavenly.

"Please bear with it. You want to arrive safely in Japan, don't you?"

 "...I suppose so."

The woman muttered, seemingly resigned, and settled into her seat.

Now the flight attendant understood why the woman had hidden her face. It was utterly enchanting. If something like that were casually revealed, the people around wouldn't be able to remain calm.

 "Excuse me."

The female flight attendant politely lowered her head and left the scene.

In her mind, she recalled the names of the two passengers she had checked on the list.

If memory served her right, the man's name was Oscar Crane.

 And the woman's name was——

 "Sharla Yamamoto."

It had been a brief encounter, lasting less than a minute, but it would be an unforgettable one for her.
