Volume 6 Chapter 11 Yuusuke-kun's Analysis

Volume 6 Chapter 11 Yuusuke-Kun's Analysis

Well, that's the kind of story it was.

I knew that the Anti-Demon Official was black just by looking at Kagami-san, but I didn't expect a guy with a black belly to show up.

When I told them about those stories, Kagami-san crossed her arms and thought deeply.

"A magic society that exists deep in the roots... It's more like a religion than an organization, I wonder. That's much more troublesome. If we're not careful, my family might be involved too."

Religion, huh. Maybe that makes more sense. But as history shows, religion, which is directly connected to ideology and belief, has more influence than a bad organization.

I also told them that there were many followers in the headquarters. At worst, there might be potential enemies in the Seijo branch. No one mentioned that possibility. There was nothing we could do about it even if I said it. But I trust the people Kagami-san and Tsukiko trust.

 "..."

Tsukiko was silent and looked down. She said that her family was a famous family of magicians. Like Kagami-san, she must have a lot to think about.

I didn't touch on that and continued the conversation.

"Anyway, he said he wanted me to do a job for them."

"It's definitely not a good job, I'm sure."

"Well, I couldn't hear any more details. He said he would talk if I officially accepted the request."

 "That's natural."

I intended to accept it on the spot.

But now I'm not fighting alone. I thought I'd better consult with them before deciding. Communication, coordination and consultation are important.

"But I think I should accept it. This God-Demon War has too many mysteries. And if the New World (Try Order) is involved, it's better to get some information here."

"Mysteries, are you talking about Kushina Mikoto?"

As Kagami-san said, that was the biggest one. Because of him, the battle is now in chaos.

But even before that, I had doubts about this God-Demon War.

Originally, I wanted to talk about it with Kagami-san and the others.

I glanced at Kanami and said.

"To be honest, the selection of people for this God-Demon War is strange."

 "Strange, in what way?"

"First of all, the guardians. Kanami and Irial-san are strong enough, but if they are to serve as representatives of humanity, there are more suitable candidates."

It was hard to say, but I asserted it. Kanami also listened to it with a serious face. She didn't deny my words.

"Really? I think they are more than strong enough for me."

"Kagami-san, there are people called 'Sign' in the human race, who are the strongest class. They are hardly participating in the fight."

"Didn't you say that when someone with the role of a "key" is killed, a stronger person is summoned?"

"I used to think so too. That's why I accepted it as such, but what was decisive was the battle with Finn and Sharla."

 "...Me?"

Sharla, whose name was called, looked at me with a face that said she just woke up. I wish she would listen more carefully when we're having an important conversation.

I thought it was inevitable that the guardians had different levels of strength. This God-Demon War itself was an irregular thing.

But the appearance of Finn and his group made the discomfort clear.

"First of all, Finn. I don't know exactly why he was hostile to me, but their existence is definitely strange. Finn and Vice Ornette had prepared to kill me."

"That's because Yuusuke-kun were the Hero, right? They would prepare accordingly."

"I'm already gone in Asteris. To them, I'm a human who shouldn't be participating in this war."

That was the discomfort I felt during the fight.

Finn and Vice didn't question why I was participating in the second God-Demon War, and they had plans to kill the Hero.

At this, Kagami-san and Kanami narrowed their eyes.

"So, you mean they knew you were participating before the war started?"

 "That's possible."

But it's not 100%. It's all speculation without evidence. But their obsession didn't seem like something they built up after coming to this earth.

And there was another mysterious point.

"And then there's Sharla's existence. I have an idea why Kushina targeted Sharla."

 "...Is that so?"

 Sharla tilted her head.

No, I think you should be the first to notice it... Well, it's wrong to expect that from Sharla.

 Kanami urged me to continue.

 "Yuusuke-sama, what do you mean?"

"I think Kanami knows too, but there's a common point among the humans who were chosen as "keys" this time."

 "Eh, is that so⁉"

Lisha exclaimed in surprise. You just be quiet and listen.

 Kanami nodded.

"As Yuusuke-sama said, the qualification is they must be a Saint."

"Yeah, Lisha, Yunea, Mevia. I don't know about the others, but two out of three are Saints, and Yunea-san is a trainee spiritual woman who is aiming to be a Saint. I was pretty sure about that... But Finn is the only one I don't understand."

Finn is a man. Is it a lie that he's a "key"? Or does the qualification of a Saint reside in men too? For now, let's just treat Finn as an exception.

"Then, what does that have to do with Sharla-san?"

 Kagami-san asked a reasonable question.

Yeah, that's right. It depends on whether you know Sharla's past or not.

I told them the fact that Mevia had told me in the past.

"Sharla was originally a human who had the potential to be a Saint."

 "!"

 "So that's how it was..."

 "Really?!"

 "...Huh?"

The order is Kagami-san, Kanami, Lisha, Sharla.

Wait a minute, the last one is weird. Why is the person involved acting like she's hearing it for the first time?

 "First time hearing."

 She said it.

 "Why don't you know yourself..."

"Well, I didn't have any Saint in my country. And besides, it was a long time ago, so I barely remember anything."

 "Oh, I see."

I suppressed a sigh and looked at Kagami-san and the others. There's no point in talking to her.

"I don't know the details either, but Mevia said something like that a long time ago. Sharla probably has the potential as a Saint, so she was chosen as the bride of the god of hell."

Kagami-san and Kanami were trying hard to process the information, and Lisha was saying "Wow, they were a great senior!" and being bubbly.

Sorry Mevia. I said that you were too detached from reality as a Saint, but these guys are no match for you.

 Well, whatever. That's not important.

What I want to say is,

"Sharla was probably not called as a guardian, but as one of the 'keys'. And Kushina was after her power."

That would explain Kushina's meticulous preparations and her targeting of Sharla.

 "...But I was called later."

"You were probably holed up in the hell again when you had free time. I don't know, but maybe you were an irregular existence for Kushina and the others too?"

The hell is another world too. The only magic that can freely go back and forth there is Sharla's. There's a good chance that they couldn't call her like the other "keys".

So maybe Kushina and the others were hiding until they could secure Sharla for sure.

"That's why, the selection criteria for the 'keys' is clear. They are gathered with some intention. But, I feel like the selection of the guardians is sloppy."

Kanami nodded slowly, as if digesting the information.

"...So this God-Demon War is not to decide the supremacy between humans and demons, but to gather the 'keys'?"

"That's one possibility. Otherwise, we could just have a normal survival game between warriors, and I don't see the need for rules."

"...That's true. I never questioned what the goddess decided or doubted it."

Kanami bit her lip as if ashamed of her ignorance. Maybe this is an opinion that only an earthling can have. For Kanami and the others, there can be no mistake in what God does.

 Well, it's all speculation anyway.

Kagami-san said something while taking notes on her phone.

"Finn and the others' actions, the imbalance between the 'keys' and the guardians, and above all, the meaning of the 'keys'. In Yuusuke-kun's guess, the unnaturalness of this God-Demon War has something to do with the New World (Try Order)."

"Yes. I don't know if they're involved or trying to use it."

"I see... To put it bluntly, it doesn't matter to us humans on Earth who wins between the human race and the demons."

 That's how it is.

Kagami-san and Tsukiko are cooperating with us because there was a possibility that demons like Luiid and Tarim would harm people. In fact, Tarim was doing whatever he wanted.

But Kushina is different. I don't understand why he would stick his neck into a war in another world.

In the end, we don't have enough information.

"That's why I think we shouldn't miss this opportunity"

"That means, Yuusuke will go alone, right?"

Tsukiko, who had been silent until now, said in a mutter. Everyone fell silent, and silence descended.

"I think that's what it means, since he only told me. Honestly, it's risky to leave Lisha and the others behind..."

 My words were immediately interrupted.

 "That's wrong. Totally, wrong"

 "Yes, you're wrong, Yuusuke-sama."

"Yuusuke-kun, I think that's what you are, huh..."

...Eh, what? Why am I being blamed? They say women's hearts are like autumn skies, but this is like a sudden downpour.

I looked at Lisha, not understanding the meaning, but she also looked at me with a frown.

"Yuusuke-san, I think that was not good of me either"

 "Eh..."

I didn't expect to be told that by Lisha. Only Sharla, who didn't change her expression, said calmly.

"...Well, Yuusuke has always been like this. And there's no point in getting angry every time."

Why are you so relaxed and exuding a sense of being the legal wife? That's the most annoying.

"We're worried about you jumping into a place that might be a trap by yourself."

 "...Oh, I see."

 "You see?"

"I'm sorry. I realized it understood it."

I apologized hastily as I saw Tsukiko's cold eyes. Dammit, she had the eyes of a magician. But, I missed this feeling of Tsukiko hitting me with her emotions.

"What are you laughing at? I'm angry, you know."

 "I'm not laughing!"

I put strength into my relaxed facial muscles. Hang in there, I'm the one being scolded. And why am I laughing when I'm being scolded? That's Matsuda. There's no more dishonorable title than that.

"Anyway, even if it's the worst trap, I can break through it by force. And, I promise I won't do anything reckless."

Even so, everyone remained silent with an indescribable look on their faces.

I looked at Sharla, who knew me in Asteris, for help, but she just kept quiet.

 After a while, Kagami-san made a decision.

"Even if you go along with Tsuchimikado's proposal, you can't say okay without knowing more details."

"Then, shall I hear the story again tomorrow?"

"Yes, let's listen to it together next time"

What is Tsuchimikado planning on making me do?
