Volume 6 Chapter 8 Duel!!
The training ground of the Seijo branch was as spacious as a schoolyard.
It was clear that the size of the space didn't match the building, but it seemed to be using modern magic. The underground training ground in the house was also large.
According to Tsukiko, it seemed that they were not expanding the space, but rather deceiving the size of the area with a barrier. It was similar to urban legends where there are endless rooms, or something like that.

Seeing that, Yotsuji became excited like a child.

"Not yet, it's not enough. Show me more."
Yotsuji threw the card and it flew around before bursting open.
From there, two cats appeared.
However, they were too big.
Their large bodies easily surpassed that of a tiger, and their sharp fangs were even more formidable than a sword. Despite that, their flexible bodies and big eyes were still those of a cat.
"'A 'bakeneko' huh?'"
"I'd appreciate it if you didn't call them that with such an unappealing name. The red one is Shunko, and the blue one is Fuyunari. They are my reliable partners."
"'That partner of yours is going to get cut.'"
"If it can be cut."
Yotsuji then pinched a card between her fingers and sent a seductive glance my way that didn't suit her boyish appearance.
"Now, show me the power of a hero from another world."
"'I'll listen to everything.'"
The one who made the first move was the other side. Shunko and Fuyunari silently closed in.
And then Shunko opened its mouth, releasing flames resembling cherry blossom petals. What an elegant technique for a cat to use.
I deflected it with my sword, and from the shadows, Fuyunari leaped out.
Its frozen blue claws swung.
I dodged by arching my body, and then Shunko pounced on me in rapid succession. This alternating sensation of cold and heat attacking me was like that of a super public bath. It was like going back and forth between a sauna and a cold bath.
"You seem relaxed."
As soon as I heard Yotsuji's voice, a beam of light flew towards me.
It seems she was using magic through the cards, but in principle, it was like a magic tool that utilized a magic circle.
Being able to shoot magic with cards, it's already like a world of games.
While dodging the incoming arrows, I dealt with the attacks from the two cats.
"As I thought, this won't do."
Yotsuji muttered and took out a new card. At this point, it was more of a cautious approach from both sides.
"Shall we go all out soon? Shunko, Fuyunari――'Nekoneko Jouka (Cat • Cat - Steams Fire)'"
The cats stepped back for a moment.
Then they synchronized their steps and started running. Red and blue intertwined like a spiral, forming a single massive entity and charging towards me.
"'Yanagi Furou (Willow Breeze Prison)'."
The wind surrounded me, stopping my movements.
Then the cat's projectile, which had reached its critical point, crashed into me. Air and flames clashed, expanding rapidly and scattering cherry blossom petals in full bloom.
Boom!! A blazing inferno filled my field of vision.
Undoubtedly, she was not humans from Asteris. The quality of her magic was that of an Earth magician, but she was incredibly strong. At least, she couldn't be compared to the person who were using magic coins.
Now, I became even more interested in who these people were.
I held my sword amidst the flames and swung it faster than the exploding sparks.
'Double Cress (Double Moon Blade)'.
The silver slash cut through the flames in a cross shape.
It approached Yotsuji, but the cats deflected it with their claws just before it hit.
Yotsuji looked at me with a shocked expression.
"Seriously? Not a scratch from that?"
That's right. Everyone is waiting, so let's end it here.
Jade power wrapped around my arm, and geometric patterns floated on the silver blade.
If she's demanding to see my strength, then I'll show it all to her.
'Mikatia (Storm Sword)'"
The storm of slashes swallowed the spring light and winter cries, engulfing Shunko and Fuyunari.
