Volume 9 Chapter 4 Recap Of The Story So Far
Let's go back in time a little bit.
The "Tokyo Crisis" had caused distortions in many places. Immediately after the incident, many people hesitated to go outside, and the town was dominated by the cold northern winds.
And that's understandable.
After all, the cause was unknown.
It could happen again.
The government's measures were also vague, and it was clear that they were ineffective to anyone's eyes. But no one could blame them. After all, nobody could come up with such a convenient solution.
At first, there was a palpable sense of tension, as if it could burst at any moment. But if a week passed without any incidents, the air would also relax.
However, there was no sense of liberation to boldly walk outside, and as the cold of December settled in, people slowly began to return to their usual lives in order to keep society running smoothly.
If the people start moving, economic activities will also resume. Amongst those shops, there was a certain cafe. It was a shop located near Shinjuku Gyoen, frequented by magicians such as the Anti-Demon Official.
The phenomenon known as the "Tokyo Crisis" was incomprehensible to ordinary people, but to those involved in magic, it was clearly a spiritual calamity.
Naturally, many magicians gathered at this shop, seeking information.
Most people are unaware that there is a private room in the back of this shop. It is a special room used by the upper echelons of the Anti-Demon Official and prestigious magic families.
In that room, two men and women were sitting facing each other.
The young man with black hair narrowed his sharp sanpaku eyes and continuously fiddled with his neatly fitting navy suit with his fingers.
His name was Yamamoto Yuusuke. He was an honored individual who had slain many of the monsters that appeared during the previous "Tokyo Crisis" and cornered the mastermind.
Furthermore, he is a genuine hero who defeated the Demon Lord in a different world in the past.
The seasoned former hero trembled so much that it seemed he might flee at any moment. His suit was damp with sweat, and his teeth seemed like they might chatter if he relaxed.
Even in the face of demons and dragons, he had never been this shaken before.
Seated in front of Yuusuke was a beautiful woman, the complete opposite of such a man-eating fiend. Her warmth was like a bonfire, and her vivid scarlet hair resembled flames. Her eyes emitted a mysterious gleam, as if set with emeralds.
She was Eris Philin Centraris.
Contrary to her name, she was not Japanese, nor was she even from Earth. She was the princess of the Centraris Kingdom in the different world "Asteris," where Yuusuke was once summoned. She had been one of those who journeyed with Yuusuke to defeat the Demon Lord.
In stark contrast to the visibly suspicious Yuusuke, she remained thoroughly expressionless.
The two had parted ways due to certain circumstances, destined to separate across the world.
It was a departure filled with resolution and resignation, a farewell sealing their fate to never meet again.
Yet, by some twist of fate or perhaps a miracle, these two crossed paths once more amidst the 'Tokyo Crisis.'
However, due to the circumstances at that moment, they couldn't speak for long and soon had to part ways again.
Or rather, Eris departed from the scene, and Yuusuke couldn't follow her.
After various twists and turns, with the cooperation of Kanami and Kagami Ayaka, this moment was finally realized.
