Volume 9 Chapter 6 Detector, Part One

Volume 9 Chapter 6 Detector, Part One

 "Huh, the fourth legendary sword...?"

I was talking to Martina via magic transmission.

By the way, this communication is quite expensive and is not available in ordinary households.

In this town, there is one at "Blue Crystal".

Blue Crystal isn't a very rich guild, but they often have magic communication tool... When I thought about it, the guild master, Elsie-san, said, "It's my hobby!".

Aside from that, the other person's image is reflected in a small mirror-like part of the communication tool.

 Martina looked puzzled.

"There are only three swords that sealed the Light Dragon King. It is clearly written in the legend. So, I guess Victor-san's sword has a different origin after all."

"Do you know why it resonated with my sword?"

"Hmm...at least my sword didn't react. Maybe Lily-chan's sword too. Maybe it doesn't resonate unless it's a certain distance away."

"Victor-san said that he originally came to this town because he was guided by the sword."

"Is it possible to feel the resonance of only that sword from a faraway position? Or is it only Rain-kun's sword that is special? At the moment, we don't have enough information to make a judgment."

 Martina said, and continued,

"But I got caught up in a little incident over here... can't move. Once that's sorted out, I might go see Rain-kun. I also want to check out Victor-san's sword."

"Got it. I'll let Victor-san know too. Looks like he's still staying in town."

 I finished talking to Martina.

I wrapped up a few quests during the day, and decided to visit Victor-san in the evening.

...So, I arrived at the counter.

Unfortunately, Nina was busy interacting with other adventurers.

I went to the next booth.

The lady at the counter was named Mary.

I had talked to her a little bit before.

She was a friendly girl with short red hair and freckles.

"Oh, hi. Rain-san. You came to see me today."

 "Yeah, please help me out."

"I see, Nina's counter is busy, huh."

Mary chuckled and then said again,

"Hehe, I've always wanted to try being Rain-san's receptionist."

 "Oh, really?"

"Yeah, I've always been envious of Nina. She's practically Rain-san's right-hand person."

"Well, you know, when I first came here, Nina was the one who greeted me. She's easy to talk to, so I always end up going to her desk every time."

"Hehe, Nina is such a kind and nice girl."

 Mary said with a smile.

 and,

"Thanks to this Detector, it helped me find a monster."

"Oh wow, I've never seen that before..."

"It's a newly developed magic tool in the capital city. I had some business there recently, so I bought it."

I overheard this conversation from the neighboring booth, which happened to be Nina's booth.

 Monster Detector...?

 This piqued my interest.
