Volume 9 Chapter 9 Rath

Volume 9 Chapter 9 Rath

"Rain-san has been doing really well lately, even better than before!"

Running towards me with a joyful expression was Rath, a 14-year-old swordsman.

Ever since I joined this guild, Rath would always come up to me and talk, saying "Rain-san, Rain-san."

It felt like he looked up to me.

"Oh yeah, I've been using the monster detector. I've even lent it to other adventurers, but we still don't have enough of them."

That's right, since then I've bought more detector and let the guild's members use them.

Thanks to that, everyone's efficiency in defeating monsters has increased significantly.

At this rate, it seemed like the guild itself would rise in rank in the next ranking update.

It's a great thing that I'm able to uplift all the members.

However, the detectors themselves aren't readily available at the tool shop, so we haven't been able to secure enough of them.

The guild tried ordering them from nearby areas and the capital, but it still seems like it will take some time.

Afterwards, as a fundamental problem, my Strengthening points aren't enough.

Well, I'm defeating monsters quite a bit every day, so little by little, I should have some extra points.

"Oh, I want to try it too. By the way, Rain-san, you didn't hog the Detector. Impressive!"

 "Hog it?"

"Letting others use such a convenient item, that's really amazing."

Rath keeps praising me for everything....

"Well, I'm indebted to the guild, and it's best if everyone can efficiently complete quests. That's what matters."

"It's admirable to consider others. Rain-san is truly incredible, my role model."

"I just loaned the Detector. You're praising me too much."

 "That's not true!"

 Rath insists.

It somehow makes me feel ticklish.

"Hey, Rain, are you popular with the guys today? Haha."

Bernard-san arrived with a loud laugh.

"Anyway, thanks to the detector I borrowed from you, the quest ended quickly. Do I need to return this?"

"Yeah, another party will use it in the afternoon, so can you pass it to the counter for now?"

"Yeah, it really helped me out. Thanks, Rain."

 "I'm glad I could help."

I nodded with a smile at the grateful Bernard-san.

"Even former ace Bernard-san respects you this much... You're really something!"

"You're praising me too much. I appreciate it though."

 I chuckled.

"Haha, I guess that's how much he admires you. Isn't it a good thing to have someone nearby to look up to and aspire to? Haha"

 Bernard-san laughed.

"Still, actually, Rath's grades have improved a lot since Rain joined the guild. I bet he wants to catch up to your grades quickly, huh?"

 "Wow, really, Rath?"

"Yeah! First, I want to move up to Class B! And eventually, I want to become a swordsman who can team up with Rain-san in a party―― no, I will become one!"

Rath spoke with sparkling eyes, full of youthful hope.

I'm starting to feel happy too.
