"So, because of me and Victor-san, you found the location of 'The Heart of the Stars'...? What does that mean?"
"It's not that I 'found' it, but that I 'can find' it."
Goldred said coldly.
"I'm grateful, Rain. Thanks to you, I'll head to 'The Heart of the Stars'――the place where all relic holders desire to reach their ultimate destination. And I'll evolve into a supreme being surpassing even gods and demons."
"I don't want such tremendous power."
I glare at Goldred.
"But I feel like I shouldn't give you that kind of power. You are――"
"Do I seem evil to you?"
Goldred gazes at me.
His eyes were calm.
I don't sense any fighting spirit or hostility.
But... that's why I felt fear in his eyes.
"I've always been oppressed. Abandoned by my parents, deceived by those around me, I've lived a life of being exploited continuously."
Goldred recounts.
"I studied alchemy with all my heart, hoping to gain favor at the court. But instead, I was framed and banished. That's been my life. Always oppressed and pushed down by others."
The light in his eyes dimmed, clouded.
"That's why I'm grateful for this power. With even more strength, I'll... I'll rise above all those who've oppressed me. I'll crush them underfoot."
"So, because you were oppressed, you want to oppress others now?"
"In the end, it's either dominate or be dominated in this world, right? I won't be oppressed forever. I'll stand on the side of the rulers."
Goldred declared.
"I'll eliminate any obstacles in my way. Starting with you, Rain."
"I don't like fighting, but I'll defend myself if I have to."
I readied my Refaid Sword.
It's different from battling monsters.
My opponent is human.
But it feels the same as when dealing with Deeta, Cyril, or Jig.
I can't just be killed in silence - that's obvious.

"This place is so cramped. Should I 'Change' it into a vast wilderness?"
Goldred snapped his fingers.
As he declared, the marble hallway, walls, and ceiling - everything disappeared.
Simultaneously, the dark brown wilderness extended to the horizon.

Does this mean that the environment and terrain itself changed in an instant?
"And furthermore――"
Goldred grinned.
He took something out of his pocket.
It was a small sculpture in the shape of a bird.
Is it some kind of magic tool, or...?
"No need to be on guard. This itself is just a sculpture."
Goldred said.
"Just a - a placeholder."
"A placeholder...?"
"From now, using this placeholder as the core of my imagination, I will 'Change' it into my servant. Spending 33333 points, activating the 3rd spell of the 'Relic Holder' of [Change]."
Goldred proudly raises a bird sculpture and proclaims,
"[Change][Type/Creature][Category/Legendary]"
Gliiiim!!
A dazzling light fills the area, then it gets absorbed into the sculpture.
"Come forth, the star beast with the title 'King (Fa)'—"
In the next moment, there is an explosive flash of light.
"Ugh..."
The brightness makes me squint my eyes.
A few minutes later, when the light clears, a giant silhouette appears.
It's a phoenix, probably about 100m (328ft) long.
Its entire body is black with golden patterns shining.
Goldred looks up at the phoenix and says,
"The legendary magic beast, Phoenix Blaze King Bel Fa Zelil—"
"Once the strongest mythical bird that was slain by the legendary sword Miraafa Sword."
