Volume 16 Chapter 18 Legendary S-Class Adventurer, Part Two
"Oh, you seem to really appreciate him――and you look happy."
Cyril said.
"Really?"
"Yeah. Because you were smiling just now."
Cyril pointed out.
"I always have a smile on my face."
"That doesn't look like a real smile."
Cyril interjected.
"But, that smile just now... it seemed different. A happy, natural smile."
"A natural..."
Flora muttered in agreement.
"Did I really look like that?"
"You did, you did."
"Ever since I met him――"
Flora thought about Rain's face.
"I feel uplifted."
The other day, when they fought together, Flora's skill and his skill combined to create a new skill.
Flora suspects that this phenomenon may have occurred because of their good mental 'compatibility'.
"'Relic Holder' relies heavily on the holder's spirit."
So for her, Rain is――
"Huh, what? What? Could it be, Flora, have you fallen in love?"
Cyril grinned and asked.
"Love..."
"Even though you seem uptight, you're surprisingly... hehe."
"Or maybe, that's how it is."
"Huh, really!?"
Cyril was surprised by Flora's serious nod.
"The admired love story... perhaps, the day when I become part of it has come too."
"Huh? Huh?"
"Hehehe. Just kidding."
Flora laughed mischievously.
"By the way, Cyril... why did you come back here?"
"Hm?"
Cyril tilted her head.
"Just like Jig and the others, I thought you and Deeta had already set off on your journey..."
"Well... there's something that caught my attention."
In the next moment, a sense of danger arose from behind.
Clang!
Flora quickly blocked the knife with her sword as she turned around.
"Oh no, even though I used [Movement] to attack from a blind spot so quickly."
"It's so obvious with your changing gaze and killing intent. 'I'm going to cut you now' - I could sense that presence, Cyril."
"You're truly the 'Vermilion of the Black Sky Flash,' aren't you?"
Cyril smiled wryly.
"I guess it's impossible for just me."
"That's why I said that,"
Suddenly, a killing intent arose behind her once again.
This time from a different person.
"!"
Flora jumped to the side before she could even think.
Bam!
The floor she had been standing on a second ago was ripped apart, as if it were made of butter.
"The 'Relic Holder' of [Destruction] -"
In front of Flora as she turned around, stood a beautiful woman in a black bondage outfit.
She exuded a powerful allure and intimidation.
"Since Cyril is here, I thought you would be coming too, Deeta."
"You're not fazed by a two-strike combo using [Movement]. You're amazing, Flora."
"Oh, this should be child's play for you two, right?"
Flora smiled, but deep down she was on high alert.
Even though Flora was hailed as a legendary S-class adventurer, facing two 'Relic Holders' at the same time was no easy task.
"Now the real showdown begins - a fight to the death."
Deeta Clishe.
Cyril Zelvest.
Flora had known the two as 'Relic Holders' even before they met.
Five years ago, the two were invited as S-class adventurers from their respective countries.
At that time, Deeta - or rather her true name, Eshal Deeta Clishe - was the queen of the Clishe Kingdom, while Cyril was the head knight of the imperial guards.
"You back then, you were not someone who would speak the word 'fighting to the death.' You were noble, gentle, and kind..."
Flora gazes into the distance, recalling the memories of that day.
It all began five years ago.
Yes, on the day the kingdom was destroyed.
The day when Deeta and Cyril lost everything to the unidentified monsters called [Invaders].
And Flora, too, lost something important...
