Chapter 102 Early Morning Incident
As Sara woke up, the outside of her window was dimly bright, and she couldn't immediately tell if it was early morning or evening. She quietly opened the south-facing window, and the eastern sky was a pale white, making her realize it was dawn.
"I guess I fell asleep in the middle of dinner... my body is still like a kid's."
Just then, a small door suddenly appeared in mid-air, and a knocking sound could be heard.
"!?"
As Sara was surprised, Sedrick's voice came from the other side of the door.
"Milady Sara, is it alright now?"
"It's fine, but what's with this door?"
Sedrick then opened the door, appeared, and made the door in mid-air disappear.
"A lady's privacy is important. I couldn't just suddenly appear."
"But is a door really necessary?"
"It's a matter of style."
"Why not make the door pink, then?"
"Does Miss Sara like the color pink?"
"Nothing, just forget it."
Sedrick, who had lightly bowed, took out several documents from mid-air.
"There's a message from the vassals at the royal palace. It seems the crown prince of Roisen and the Marquis had a meeting at the palace."
"Oh?"
"They apparently visited King Avalon in secret. The Marquis is tight-lipped, isn't he? Even when he was drunk, he didn't spill anything to Mike."
"Well, as the lord of a large territory, he can't get drunk, but still, how much did those two drink?"

Sara let out a sigh.

"Could it be that the culprit behind the Grandchester attack is possibly from the third prince's faction?"
Sara tried to pour water from the water jug on the sideboard into a glass, but Sedrick beat her to it and served the water.
"Please, milady."
"Thank you."
"Of course, we can't deny the possibility that the culprit is from the third prince's faction. That's why King Avalon and Roisen's crown prince don't want to make a big deal out of this attack."
"I understand. At first glance, it seems like a fair judgment that benefits Grandchester, but if we think about it, it's possible that they were manipulated into getting involved in another country's politics."
"It's still too early to say for sure."
"You're right."
As the early autumn morning was chilly, Sara felt a bit cold and put on the shawl that was draped over the back of the dresser chair. She sat down in the chair and took a sip of water.
"But since we don't have any more information to go on, all we can do is wait and see. Now that the attack has failed, I wonder what everyone will do next."
"If I may, I'd like to increase my minions a bit, so may I have some of your magic power, Milady Sara?"
"Go ahead."
"Well then."
Sedrick knelt down in front of Sara again and kissed the back of her hand.
"Can't you just do that without the theatrics? You can just take my magic power without all the fuss."
"It's a matter of style."
"Get rid of that style already!"
Sara's face turned bright red as she hastily pulled her hand back.
"As for me, I wouldn't mind if it was on the lips either."
"That's even worse!!!"
Sedrick was grinning from ear to ear when Mike and Pochi suddenly appeared in mid-air.
"Don't get too cocky, you enemy of maidens~~~~~~~."
"Thanks for the welcome~."
The two of them suddenly transformed into human-like creatures and grew to enormous size, kicking Sedrick in the back of the head. As Sedrick fell flat on his face, they continued to kick him repeatedly.
"Oh my, you two can transform into humans too. You're both beautiful, even with those animal ears."
"Don't mind the details, we transformed in a hurry. We can turn into proper humans, you know."
Mike transformed again, and her tail disappeared, her ears becoming identical to those of a human. Pochi was the same. Mike had become a stunning beauty with a seductive aura, while Pochi had transformed into a cute girl with sparkling eyes.
"Ow, that hurts. It was just a joke, after all."
"You're the one who says it's a joke, but it doesn't look like one to me."
"Besides, what were you thinking, sneaking into a maiden's bedroom at dawn?"
Fairies don't really have a gender, but after gaining a sense of self and living for over 100 years, most of them tend to take on either a male or female form. Of course, there are some fairies who can switch between both genders, but they're a minority.
"Mike, Pochi, let him go. He says it was a joke, so he won't do it again, right?"
"A-at least give me a kiss of respect~~~~."
"Maybe when I'm a bit older."
"Would it be okay if you took Sophia's form, milady?"
"Hmm... only if I say it's okay, got it?"
"Thank you, I'm so grateful."
Just then, a noise came from outside the door, and it seemed the maids had noticed Sara's voice.
"For now, let's just hide your forms, it's too much trouble to explain."
Right after, the sound of knocking on the door was heard, and Sara gave permission for entry. Maria and several maids entered the room.
"Milady, we heard voices and wondered..."
"I'm sorry. I woke up early and was talking to the fairies."
"Is that so? Will you be having breakfast early today?"
"No, I'll sleep a bit more and have it with Miss Rebecca. Sorry for the commotion."
"Not at all, milady. As long as you're safe, it's no problem. We'll take our leave."
Sara got back into bed, and the maids left with relieved smiles.
"Phew. I forgot to cast the soundproofing magic."
At first, she had only planned to pretend to get into bed, but she ended up feeling naturally sleepy, and Sara fell asleep for real.
The fairies appeared in mid-air to check on her, but after confirming that Sara was asleep, they silently vanished into thin air.
