Chapter 16 They're Amazing

Chapter 16 They'Re Amazing

Now that the current term's documents were sorted out, the bureaucrat who had been down due to overwork finally made a successful return to the workplace, so Sara decided to resume her morning studies.

The butler and the other housekeepers also couldn't neglect their main jobs any longer and went back to their duties at the main residence. However, some of the maids were asked to continue assisting as helpers at the office building.

"Wow, the maids are incredibly talented!"

The maids' work ethic impressed not only Sara but also Robert and the bureaucrats who had been working at the office building for a long time.

First of all, their schedule management skills were amazing. At the beginning of the day, they would confirm Robert, Sara, Rebecca, and the bureaucrats' schedules and work goals, and then deliver the necessary documents to their desks at the right time. Of course, they wouldn't forget to restock paper, pens, and ink.

While checking on the progress of the work, they would prepare tea and snacks, and if the work was falling behind, they would readjust the schedule.

They would also check the completed documents for errors, and if they found any mistakes, they would correct them after confirming with the person in charge.

And to top it all off, their handwriting was beautiful and easy to read. Some bureaucrats even asked the maids to rewrite their documents.

In short, they were an incredibly talented group of secretaries. And as they were originally maids, they would, of course, keep the office tidy, and even serve high-quality tea. When someone felt a bit tired, they would prepare a hot towel or giving a massage ―― they were simply amazing.

'By the way, in my past life, the dispatched auntie was also doing an amazing job, wasn't she?'

As Sara watched the maids working in the office, she was reminded of a super-excellent dispatched oba-chan who worked as an assistant at her previous company. Even when asked to work overtime, she would cheerfully say "Overtime pay, yay!" and wasn't intimidated by foreign clients, despite only being able to speak broken English. She had memorized the minimum necessary phrases for customer service and would always greet familiar faces with "I'm happy to see you again." Her intonation was perfect, but it was questionable whether she could write down the conversation in words.

Now, with the support of such super-veteran maids, it was only natural that work efficiency would improve. The bureaucrats, who had learned that doing too much and collapsing would only make things worse, stopped procrastinating and started taking care of their overall well-being. As a result, their health also began to improve.

In reality, Rebecca also had great trust in the office maids. The reason was that they would forcibly drag Sara away from her desk at the end of the workday and send her back to the mansion. The maids at the mansion were also in close coordination, so the timing of meals, baths, and sleep was perfect. Sara's late-night work and overtime were strictly prohibited.

'It's like having many strict mothers watching over me.'

Meanwhile, Maria always accompanied Sara as she moved between the mansion and the office building, and also assisted with Sara's work during office hours. Although Maria was still young and didn't have exceptional abilities like the other maids, she was learning support tasks by working with the other maids. If she continued like this, she would likely become a super-secretary.

"I thought the office was a man's workplace, but the maids are amazing..."

James's unintentional mutter was met with strong agreement from Robert and the other bureaucrats. From then on, the office's exclusive maid team, also known as the secretarial department, was born, and became one of the most coveted jobs among the women of Grandchester.

Furthermore, with Grandchester's administrative maids as a reference, similar systems would be introduced in other territories as well. A few years later, schools to train administrative maids would be established, and it would become a established occupation for women.

It was as if the crisis in Grandchester had become the catalyst for creating a new occupation for women.

'Hey, if we make those bureaucrats who come to work say "Welcome back, Master" or something, wouldn't their motivation increase?'

Sara's brain was already in a pretty pathetic state.

What's with this, the protagonist Sara's brain is more like an otaku old man than an aristocratic lady!

Sara: "Let's make lunch omurice and write our names with ketchup!"

 Author: "Please don't."

Sara: "Or how about cute name tags, or business cards with our real addresses written on them?"

Author: "What if someone becomes a stalker?"

Sara: "But bureaucrats are elites, right? They're the ideal husbands, aren't they?"

 Author: "Ugh..."

Sara: "Let's change the maid uniforms and show off our absolute territory!"

Author: "They can't dress like that even in a brōtḥel in this world."

Sara: "Aww, isn't miniskirt + knee-high socks romantic?"

Author: "What kind of work do you plan to do in the office? Absolutely not!"

 Sara: "Tch..."
