Chapter 81 The Appearance of Healing Magic

Chapter 81 The Appearance Of Healing Magic

As Sara was checking the surrounding situation, Mike suddenly jumped out from above her head.

 "Sara! Someone's collapsed!"

 "Where?"

 "Over here!"

Sara started running after Mike. Rebecca also heard Mike's voice, so she quickly told Robert, who was nearby.

There, an adult and a child were lying on the ground, overlapping each other. As they rushed over, they saw that the boy was unfamiliar, but the adult was Benjamin. Both of them had severe burns, but they were still breathing.

 "Mr. Ben!!"

Rebecca also rushed over and checked on the two It seemed that Benjamin had protected the child, and his burns were even more severe.

"Ms. Sophia, do you have healing magic?"

 "No, not yet."

"Then I'll do it right now in front of you. If it looks like it might work, please help the child!"

 "Yes!"

Rebecca knelt down beside Benjamin and activated her healing magic. However, the wounds didn't seem to be closing as expected.

"Miss Rebecca, why don't we use water attribute magic to envelop Mr. Ben's body first? We can cleanse and cool his body, and then treat the severe burns. We can do the same for the child."

"That makes sense. It might be effective."

As Rebecca resumed treating Benjamin, the burns started to heal slowly. However, the speed of the healing was too slow, and they started to worry about the child.

 "Is Mike here?"

 "Yes, I'm here."

"Can you slow down time for this child?"

 "I can, but why?"

"I want to slow down the deterioration of their physical condition. We might not be able to wait until Mr. Ben's treatment is finished."

"But that would use up a lot of your magical power, Sara."

 "That's okay."

 "Alright, leave it to me!"

Mike drew a circle above the child, sprinkling sparkling light particles.

"I've slowed down time for this child. It's like one year becomes 100 years or so."

 "Thanks, Mike."

 "You're welcome."

As Sara watched Benjamin's wounds heal, she was amazed.

'What's healing? When I look at Miss Rebecca, it feels like their body is trying to recover its functions. But if that's the case, wouldn't damaged parts just stay that way?'

Sara stared intently at Benjamin. Suddenly, she envisioned Benjamin in his healthy state, and without using words, she understood what she needed to do to help the Benjamin in front of her.

Without anyone teaching her, Sara reached out to Benjamin, and light particles gathered at her touch. As they watched, the burned area began to transform into smooth, unblemished skin.

 "Huh?"

Rebecca doubted her own eyes. The magic Sara was using was completely different from her own healing magic. While she could sense that it was light-based, it was an unfamiliar and mysterious magic she had never seen before.

But Sara didn't seem to notice anything out of the ordinary.

"Looks like I've developed my own magic too!"

 "Huh? Y-yes..."

Rebecca was at a loss for how to explain the current situation. Magic in this world was triggered by imagination, making it extremely difficult to explain to others. Maybe scholars at the Academy could explain it logically, but Rebecca, who hadn't received specialized education, couldn't.

"Well, I'll help too, so let's get this done quickly!"

True to her words, Sara quickly finished treating the two. However, it wouldn't be easy to recover their energy right away, so the two remained unconscious.

While Sara and Rebecca were treating the wounded, Robert returned with the Baron's servants, who had been evacuated. They had prepared a stretcher and blankets, and a horse-drawn carriage with a canopy was waiting nearby.

They decided to take the two to the Baron's mansion, and with the two still unconscious, Sara and Rebecca rode in the carriage as it set off.

Just then, an arrow flew in from nowhere and stuck into the carriage.

"Sir Robert, it's terrible! The rioters are back!"

"Sophia, Revi, keep your bodies low and don't stick your faces out of the carriage!"

But Sara didn't listen and immediately surrounded the carriage with a dome-shaped wall of earth.

"I think this should keep the arrows out for now, but it's dark in here."

Then Rebecca created several balls of light with her magic and made them float inside the dome.

"I've secured the lighting, at least."

The servants of Baron Walt's estate were staring at Sara and Rebecca's magic in awe.

"As expected of the esteemed Orson family's young lady."

"That young lady over there is also amazing. Is she related to the Orson family?"

Sara spoke to the man who had called out to her.

"My name is Sophia, but I'm sorry. I'm not allowed to talk about my background."

 "Ah, I see."

Most people who can use magic are aristocrats or descendants of aristocrats who have become commoners. As the aristocratic bloodline becomes more distant, magic becomes weaker and harder to manifest. That's why most commoners, even if they have magical power, can't use magic.

In other words, people who can use powerful magic are almost certainly aristocrats or illegitimate children of aristocrats. If you say you can't talk about your background, most people will assume you're the latter and won't pry any further.

"But not knowing what's going on outside is unsettling."

"Sophia, is there a way to check what's going on outside?"

"Well, let's try raising the floor a bit and making small holes in the dome so arrows can't get in."

Sara raised the dome's surroundings by about 3 meters ( 9.8 feet) and created windows with metal mesh on all 4 sides.

"Wow, there are so many people outside! Are there really that many rioters?"

When they peeked out of the windows, they saw a large crowd of people surrounding them. There were more people than had been reported.

"Rob, that doesn't look like a riot."

"Yeah, judging from their weapons and armor, they look like mercenaries from somewhere."

"Looks like there were ambushers, after all."

 "That's right."

Then, a voice came from the direction of the horse-drawn carriage.

"Those are the mercenaries hired by Roisen."

Benjamin slowly got down from the carriage.

"Mr. Ben, did you notice? Are you okay now?"

Sara rushed over and examined Benjamin's body carefully.

"Um, excuse me. Which lady are you?"

Benjamin looked at Sara with a puzzled expression.

'Oh no! I'm not 8-year-old Sara right now'

"I apologize for the rudeness. My name is Sophia."

"She helped with the healing, and at that time, I used to call you Ben, so she called you that."

 "Sophia, he's bureaucrat Benjamin."

"I see. Ms. Sophia, you can call me Ben. Thank you for your help."

"No need to thank me, it's all thanks to The Lady Rebecca."

"Yes, thank you very much, Lady Rebecca."

 "You're welcome."

Benjamin peeked outside through the mesh window.

"Looks like those mercenaries I saw in the forest are the ones."

"Were there ambushers hiding in the forest?"

"Yes. After visiting my cousin, I secretly observed the rioters and noticed some of them frequently entering the forest."

 "Hmm."

"I suspected something and followed them."

"Hey Ben! You're a bureaucrat, what were you thinking, taking such a dangerous risk? What would you have done if you got caught?"

Benjamin let out a wry smile.

"In reality, I did get caught."

 "What?!"

"I was caught by that kid who was sleeping over there. Well, he's already awake and looking this way now."

Everyone's gaze turned towards the carriage at the same time.
