chapter 211 To Make Her Understand

Chapter 211 To Make Her Understand

 Blaze suddenly smiled.

"Sara is kind, isn't she? I was brought up as a mercenary, so I thought that if someone didn't like something, I'd just resolve it with violence, that's what I thought."

"Haha, only Blaze would say something like that about me being kind."

As Sara smiled at Blaze, Blaze's face turned bright red.

"Sara, don't smile like that. My heart is racing so fast."

 "Is that so?"

"Lady Sophia healed me when I was on the verge of death from my magical backlash, and she gave me a name and a place to live. To me, she's like a goddess."

"Sorry, I'm just a disappointing goddess, I guess."

"No, I was really happy when I realized that the person I respected and loved was the same person as Sara."

 'Because I love her!?'

Robert's shoulders shook with a shiver, but he decided not to interrupt and just remained silent.

"I want to become a person who can stand beside Sara and be someone she can rely on. If I think about it, I feel like I can do lots of things with all my might."

"That's great, Blaze, thank you. I'm really happy!"

Unintentionally, Sara hugged Blaze tightly. However, Blaze's 10-year-old height only reached the top of Sophia's neck, and Sophia's chest was relatively large, so Blaze's face was buried in the valley between Sophia's chest and the rest of her body.

 "Mmgg..."

Blaze quickly got away from Sara.

"I said, if you're going to do something, it's not okay! Wait until I grow a bit taller, at least!"

 Just then, Noir suddenly appeared.

"If Blaze wants to grow taller, why not try?"

Noir slowly started to help Blaze grow.

"Hey, Noir, you can't do that here!"

"Scott, bring me a full set of Sir Jeffrey's clothes!"

Blaze hurriedly moved behind the screen where Sara had just transformed and began to take off his clothes. Once the transformation was complete, he changed into Jeffrey's clothes that Scott had brought and stepped out from behind the screen.

 "Blaze... you've gotten really tall."

 "It seems that way."

There stood a beautiful young man with a relaxed vibe. He was tall and slim, but it looked like he had well-built muscles. His slightly long black hair was casually tied back, and his bright ruby-red eyes were fixed on Sara. His voice was deep, and he had an unexpectedly cool voice.

"If you're like this, can I hug you?"

"Sorry, but in that form, I can't let you. Blaze, you look really cool now."

 Sara stared at Blaze intently.

"But, you know, this takes a lot of magic power. How come you're okay, Sara?"

"I think I just get used to it. After running out of magic a few times, Blaze might be able to transform easily."

"For now, I don't have enough magic to return to my original form, so I'll drink some herbal tea."

 "That sounds good."

Scott, who had been silently watching their exchange, suddenly got angry and confronted Blaze.

 "Hey, Blaze! That's totally unfair!"

"I didn't mean to! Noir was just playing around."

"Seriously, you getting taller than Father is way too unexpected. A younger brother taller than his older brother!"

'Wait, Scott, that line makes you sound like a really weak older brother, so don't say that.'

 Sara secretly thought to herself.

"Noir, what are you doing? You don't have to suddenly turn him into such a pretty boy."

"No, I just helped him grow a bit. His face is his original one."

 Thirteen-year-old Scott was completely sulking.

"Don't worry, Scott. You look just like Sir Jeffrey, so you'll definitely become a handsome guy too. You've been getting taller recently, right?"

"Even so, I'm still only as tall as Sara!"

Looking closely, Blaze was at least 20 cm taller than Sophia.

"Ugh... then Sara, hug me too! It's not fair that Blaze gets a hug first!"

 "Uh, okay?"

 Sara hugged Scott tightly.

After a while, when she pulled away, Scott was frozen with a completely red face.

"I understand why Blaze said no. This is really something... Sara, you absolutely can't hug anyone else."

It seemed that the feeling and scent of Sophia were too stimulating for a teenage boy.

Meanwhile, Robert and Daniel had a strange thought of, 'What are we even witnessing?'

Normally, Robert would be upset saying things like, 'I won't let my daughter be taken away,' but since he understood the boys' feelings toward Sophia's appearance, it seemed he decided to let it slide this time.

On the other hand, Daniel thought, 'This is so unfair, I'm jealous.'

"But Sara, what will you do if Roisen takes a strong stance again?"

"I want to believe there's no Crown Prince who would create a diplomatic issue over a mere musician. That was probably just a misunderstanding from his aide."

"We could also ask His Majesty to protest to Roisen."

"I really don't want to cause any trouble. If I stand out too much, it won't be good for Grandchester. More than anything, it might affect the merchant guild's work, and that makes me uneasy. For now, I want to see how Crown Prince Gerhart deals with his rebellious subordinates before deciding on my next move."

Robert put his hand on his chin and thought for a moment.

"Sara going to Roisen is absolutely out of the question. We need to keep Sara away from the nobles as much as possible. If Crown Prince Gerhart stays calm, we can overlook what happened earlier, right?"

 "That's correct."

"What if he doesn't stay calm?"

"All I can say is we'll adapt, but using force is the last resort."

"You're at least considering using force?"

"If someone hits me on the right cheek, I won't just offer them my left cheek. I'll cut off the arm of the person who hit me and use that arm to hit them back."

"My daughter is still as violent as ever."

 Robert's face twitched.

"But now, I'm a merchant running the merchant guild. My weapon is money."

"Oh, so it's the kind of attack that Ed faced? But the opponent is the Crown Prince of a neighboring country, right?"

"Heh. Their national power is weakening, and they have internal conflicts as well. If Roisen really wants to pick a fight with me, I will make them understand what it means to pick a fight with a merchant. I've done my research, and their trade is in shambles."

Sara smiled elegantly in the form of Sophia.

'This is bad. My daughter is scary. It's much scarier than being threatened with magic...'

"Hehe. In the end, the citizens of Roisen might become happy, you know? I don't know about the royal family or the nobles though."

'I want to warn Crown Prince Gerhart to run away quickly!'

"By the way, Sara, what events are mandatory to participate in so far?"

Robert, overwhelmed with fear, decided to change the topic.

"Um, on the second day of the hunting tournament, we're having a music appreciation event with the women waiting at the campsite and some bards, and I've been asked to play piano as the opening act."

 "That's pretty intense!"

"Usually, at music appreciation events, they have kids do something for the opening act. Well, it's just for fun."

"Speaking of which, my mother made me do that when I was young. Arthur too."

"So, it's not really an event people are expecting much from. By this schedule, Crown Prince Gerhart will definitely be participating in the hunt. Also, I've selected relatively easy pieces for the piano performance."

"That's it. I was thinking of telling you to choose something easy for the piece you showcase to Crown Prince Gerhart in the future."

"I planned on that from the start. I've prepared a few songs. There's also sheet music with practice pieces for kids sold at Sophia Merchant Guild, so this also acts as a promotion."

 "I see."

Even without Robert worrying, Sara had already taken care of that part.

"But, the problem is the singing part."

"I've never heard Sara sing before."

 "I don't really sing much."

"But you're going to sing this time?"

"There are a lot of kids my age who aren't so great at instruments, right? So, it seems there's a habit of compensating by singing instead."

 "I see."

"But, to be honest, I don't really feel like singing Avalon's songs, and I'm not interested in them. That's why my emotions aren't getting caught up in it, you know?"

"That's not it! You can't just go all out and not care about how you look, right? Sara said that, didn't she?"

"Well, I guess that's true. For some reason, when it comes to music, I just can't compromise, you know?"

"Sara, I think that's because you struck a chord with Crown Prince Gerhart's heart. You only sing with true passion in front of your family and just go through the motions at music appreciation events, right?"

Although Sara didn't have a strong memory of being passionate about music in her past life, she had noticed that she had developed a strong attachment to music after her reincarnation.

To be sure, as a child, Sara had learned piano, violin, vocal music, and ballet. Her mother, who was a music major, was also a big fan of the Takarazuka Revue. As a result, Sara received elite education from a young age.

However, she didn't have the skills to win top prizes in competitions and was only able to enjoy music to a certain extent. She mostly stopped learning around middle school and didn't have any cheat-like talent like Sara.

'What's with me being so obsessed with music? I like music, but I didn't get attached to it that much... uh? It's like something's coming back to me...'

For some reason, Sara felt a sense of discomfort, but her doubts quickly dissipated like a mist. It was as if someone was trying to prevent her from remembering something...
