Chapter 300 Magic Experiment
After finishing the discussion about managing the new Elma field and having a simple lunch, Sara was so bored that she didn't know what to do. However, Rihito and Amelia suggested that Sara take a break in her room and, if possible, have a short "nap."
For Sara, who at just 8 years old was already showing signs of being a workaholic, it was tough to just lounge around without going outside. She could only handle that for 3 days.
"I'm already tired of Father's books."
It's not that she hated romance novels, but they made her feel like she was consuming too much sugar, so she wanted to limit how many she read in a day.
"Hmm. I guess I have to try out some new magic. I think I can do it if I follow what Gaia taught me."
Just to be safe, Sara locked the door with magic and set up spells to prevent eavesdropping or peeking. Then, she opened a "normal" space storage that had been waiting for some time.
"Hmm, if I set this hole as the entrance and create another exit beyond it, that should work."
Sara entered the space storage with the entrance hole still open and imagined the space above her bed as the exit, creating a hole there. The distance between the sofa and the bed was about 5 meters (� 16.4 feet), but she had only expanded the space inside the storage by about 1 meter (� 3.3 feet).
As she stretched the hole, it opened up to a position where she could look down at the bed.
"It's a bit tricky to adjust, but if I get used to it, I might be able to improve the accuracy of the exit coordinates. Since I can check the exit situation before going through, it's a safe design. At least I can avoid the accident of being 'inside a rock'."
Sara took a deep breath and jumped through the space storage, leaping off the bed. She landed softly on the fluffy mattress without any issues.
"Wow! I did it! Since I'm just connecting the entrance and exit with space storage, if I set this space to be as close to 0 as possible, I can go anywhere! Well, I won't be making a pink door or anything."
Sara shrank the distance of the space storage to about 5 millimeters and adjusted it so that she could jump into the hole and move directly to the destination coordinates.
"Hmm. How much can I imagine the exit coordinates to be able to move? Can I go to places I've never been before?"
Sara pictured the forest near the hunting ground where she met Blaze and set it as the exit. However, when the exit was created, it turned out to be quite high up in the air.
Peeking out carefully, she saw a deep forest below. Leaning out a bit more and looking around, she spotted the Baron Walt's mansion in the distance.
"Wow, it seems to be working! But I need to make the exit closer to the ground; otherwise, it could be dangerous."
Sara pulled back and reset the exit to be closer to the ground. But just as she was about to step into the forest, she realized she was wearing indoor slippers.
"Ah, if I get these all muddy, Maria will definitely be mad at me."
Reluctantly, Sara gave up on exploring the forest and closed the exit, setting it to the Grandchester mansion in the capital, where her indoor slippers wouldn't be a problem. On the other side of the hole, she could see the room she had used before.
It had been over 6 months since she left this room, but it looked like it was still being cleaned regularly. However, since it was a room without its owner, it felt a bit empty.
Sara stepped into her old room and looked out the window. It was definitely the Grandchester mansion in the royal capital.
"Wow, this is super fun! It's really convenient!"
Then, Sara set various places as exits and kept experimenting with magic. She confirmed that even places she had never visited could be set as exits if she imagined the coordinates on a map. However, it seemed to take longer to set an exit compared to places she already knew.
Suddenly, she heard a knock on the door, so Sara hurriedly closed the teleportation hole and released the soundproof magic before calling out to the door.
"It's Maria. The afternoon classes downstairs have ended, and Lady Chloe, Sir Christopher, Sir Scott, and Sir Blaze are having tea time. Milady Sara is invited to join them. Sir Rihito and Lady Amelia have given permission for you to move to the second floor."
"Yay! I was really bored!"
Sara released the locking magic on the door to let Maria in, who helped her change and gathered her slightly messy hair into a loose half-up style.
After finishing her preparations and opening the door, she found Rihito standing outside.
"Sara, I know you weren't just resting quietly."
"Huh, what are you talking about?"
"You're mistaken if you think you can use magic without the fairies noticing."
'Well, that's true.'
"Because it was boring."
"Still, you didn't have to go all the way to the royal capital."
"Hehehe, I even peeked into the academy's secret library."
"Make sure to teach me that magic later."
"I'm trapped in the room! I don't want to!"
"Hmm, hey..."
Rihito quickly picked up Sara and set her down before the stairs.
"Can you try going down the stairs slowly without any strength boost?"
Sara tried to go down the stairs like usual, but her legs wobbled, and she almost missed a step. Rihito, expecting this, easily caught her.
"You might not realize it, but your muscle strength has really dropped. It must be boring, so let's work on your rehab. You're young, so you'll get better quickly."
'Huh? Young body???'
"Rihito, I'm sorry, but can you take me back to my room for a moment?"
"Is something wrong? Are you feeling sick?"
Rihito picked Sara up and quickly returned to the room.
"Is Mike here?"
"Yeah, I'm here!"
"Hey, can you turn my body back to the time before I collapsed?"
"Huh? Sure, but just wait a second."
When Rihito gently set Sara down on the floor, Mike touched Sara's cheek lightly and sent her physical time back about half a month. To the outside eye, there was no visible change, and her clothes stayed the same.
After Mike's magic turned back Sara's body time, she jumped up excitedly.
"Yeah. I'm feeling great!"
Seeing this, Rihito was astonished.
"You just erased the fact that you were sick in bed!"
"That's right!"
"As a doctor, I'm happy about your recovery, but it feels kind of like cheating or forbidden magic."
"It's a secret technique that you can only do if you have a friendship with a fairy that controls time."
"Well, whatever. For now, let's see how you do today, and I'll give you permission tomorrow."
"Got it!"
'Speaking of forbidden techniques, I haven't tried another type of magic yet.'
Sara imagined being free from gravity and gently floated her body. Rihito, watching her, couldn't help but burst out laughing.
"Sara, let's not float in the air like that. You look like a character from a magic show."
"Oh, does it look like that? Then how about this, does it look more like it?"
Sara adjusted her body enhancement and wrapped herself in an aura.
"Whoa... now you totally look like a Saiyan."
"I wonder what the attribute of that energy wave is?"
"No way, if Sara really used it, she'd break a lot of things, so let's not."
Feeling like they were going too far, Sara released her body enhancement and landed on the floor, noticing Maria looking at her with teary eyes.
"Milady Sara... you look so divine, like a goddess!"
'I see. Without the background knowledge we have, this is the kind of reaction they would have.'
"Maria, I'm just playing with magic, so please don't worship me. I was just bored."
"It's amazing! It should be captured in a painting."
"I'd prefer if you forgot about it since I don't want to show off too much in front of others. Besides, I think we're keeping others waiting, so let's move downstairs."
Then, without using any body enhancement magic, Sara quickly ran down the stairs.
"Milady, that's not very proper."
"Sorry, Maria. I'm just so happy to be able to run again!"
Maria and Rihito exchanged glances and shared a wry smile.
