chapter 327 A Crazy System That Breaks The Rules

Chapter 327 A Crazy System That Breaks The Rules

Blaze was lying in bed, and his condition had worsened quickly. Thomashiina gently patted Blaze's stomach while singing a lullaby in Sara's voice.

"I've never seen Shiina sing before."

 "That's my voice."

"Yes. It's sampled for Miss Sara and Sophia's golems. As soon as he lay down, Sir Blaze asked me to 'sing'."

"I guess when you're not feeling well, you want to be pampered."

'Thanks to that, I feel like I'm a Vocaloid voice actor!'

Sara approached Blaze. Of course, before entering the room, Sara, Rihito, and Amelia had already put on masks.

Blaze seemed to be sleeping, but he was shivering and mumbling "cold" in his sleep, breathing shallowly and quickly in distress.

"Normally, we should treat him when he's healthy, but his liver damage is serious. If we prescribe medicine in this state, it could get worse quickly. There's some risk, but I think we should treat his body."

"But I don't know how to do that."

"Sara, I'm sorry to ask you, who hasn't studied medicine, but first, please observe Blaze closely with magic."

 "Got it."

Sara stared intently at Blaze, trying to understand how his body was made up. After a while, an image of Blaze's body appeared in her mind. However, Sara couldn't grasp how serious the condition was. The limits of her magic, which relied on her knowledge-based image, became clear at this moment. Treating surface burns was on a completely different level.

"I can tell something's wrong with him, but I have no idea what it is. Honestly, I only have a rough idea of which organs are which."

"Right now, can you share the image you see with me, Sara?"

 "How do I do that?"

"I'm hoping you can visualize it and make it real. Can you imagine projecting it like a projector?"

"I kind of get it, but can I activate it at the same time? It's light attribute magic, right?"

"I couldn't control multiple magics at once, but I feel like you can because you're skilled."

"Just wait a second, I'll try it."

Sara tried to imagine projecting the image while analyzing Blaze, just like Rihito told her.

 'Projector, projector...'

Then, a square window of light, about the size of a 40-inch monitor, appeared above Blaze, showing a blurry image. At first, the image was fuzzy, but it gradually became clearer.

"Wow, you really are amazing, Sara."

"Well, Rihito came up with it, so..."

"Oh, I'll put it into a magic circle, so I'll need you to do it again later."

"Please do. I know it's useful, but keeping this up for a long time is tough."

While watching the image, Rihito directed Sara on where to focus. With the visualization, Amelia also clearly understood that Blaze was injured.

"This is bad. There are signs that not only the liver but also the spleen is hurt. Part of the leg has a broken bone that's pressing on the nerves because it healed weirdly."

"Hmm. So you can identify the organs, Amelia. Do you have experience with dissections?"

"I've been present a few times as Mr. Alexander's assistant. Normally, only those officially registered with the Pharmacist Guild are allowed, so it was a special exception. If they went that far to accommodate me, I couldn't say it was scary or gross."

Amelia chuckled softly, remembering the first time she attended an autopsy a few years ago. She had felt sick halfway through and was fighting the urge to throw up, but Alexander had instructed her to draw the organs in detail. At that time, she had lightly resented her mentor, but later she realized that Alexander had pushed the guild to allow her to attend, and she deeply regretted her feelings.

However, Sara, who wasn't used to this, was in a different situation.

"I feel kind of sick. Do we really have to keep going?"

"Don't say it's gross. Yours looks pretty much like this too. Just hang in there a bit longer for Blaze."

"I'll try, but it's tough. I feel like I'm going to dream about this."

"Sorry if you can't eat for a while."

"Yikes. I'm not a medical student, you know!"

But the screaming only lasted for the first few minutes. As Rihito pointed at the images and explained Blaze's injuries, Sara began to feel sadness and anger.

"I'm sorry. When I treated him the first time, I should have looked at Blaze more carefully. It wasn't just the burns, was it?"

"Sara, you weren't a doctor in your past life, right? It's impossible to understand this. Sure, the magic in this world is a crazy system that breaks the rules from our perspective, but it doesn't cover all knowledge. It's not all-powerful. Even with all this suffering, we can't even cure a fever."

Rihito made a bitter face. Maybe there was a time when he believed that magic was all-powerful.

"It's bad, Mr. Rihito! Mr. Blaze is bleeding from his liver!"

"Oh, crap. Sara, I'm really sorry for the trouble, but I want to get this back to normal. Um, Amelia, can you quickly draw a rough illustration of a healthy liver?"

"I'll do it. The illustrations Lady Amelia made during the dissection are saved in Magi."

Thomashiina quickly started sketching on a piece of paper. Watching her, Rihito remembered the plotter from his previous life.

Rihito showed the finished illustration to Sara and compared it with the image displayed, explaining Blaze's normal condition to her.

"Hmm, I get what Rihito is trying to say. But I think I don't need that much explanation. I know another magic."

 "What do you mean?"

"Remember the magic that made my skin younger? I activated it by imagining 'returning to the ideal state.' I'm not a researcher on human skin, so I didn't know what the ideal state was."

"Oh! I see. That makes sense."

"Rihito is right; the magic in this world really breaks the rules. But can I activate a third magic at the same time?"

Sara tried to activate her healing magic while keeping 2 types of images in her mind. However, when she tried to activate it, the images became blurry. In front of the suffering Blaze, she felt frustrated that she couldn't use her magic properly, and tears were about to spill from her eyes.

"Sara, for now, you can stop the images. Focus on the healing first. Once you're done, you can show me Blaze's condition again."

 "Got it."

Sara roughly wiped her tears away with her hand, lifted her face, and used her healing magic on Blaze. After about ten minutes, she finished the healing and showed the state of Blaze's body to Rihito and Amelia again.

"This is amazing. Sara, you're really good at healing magic."

"I'm not good at all. I couldn't even notice he was so close."

"Boys tend to show off in front of girls they like, so it's understandable."

"But it really is impressive. Not only the organs, but the damage to the bones and nerves has been completely repaired. And there's no muscle imbalance either."

"That's true. Maybe the growth that was hindered by malnutrition has been normalized by the magic now?"

"Who knows? Since I'm imagining the ideal state, I can't say for sure."

At that moment, Rihito seemed to have an idea and started to examine Blaze himself instead of just looking at the images.

 "Is it really true?!"

Rihito had a happy expression as he called Amelia over to measure Blaze's body temperature.

 "Amelia, what's Blaze's temperature now?"

"It's 36.5 degrees! Oh, his fever is going down."

"Blaze's body is returning to the ideal state it was in before he got infected."

 "Does that mean he's cured?"

"To be precise, the virus... um, the disease is still in his body. It's beyond the reach of healing magic. But that means the disease has to stir up again inside him."

"Does that mean there's a chance he could get a fever again?"

"Yeah, that's likely. But compared to the injured Blaze before, his resistance should be better now, so I think he can win. If his body remembers the infection, his chances of winning should go up."

As Rihito answered Amelia's question, Sara also voiced her concern.

"So, you're saying it would be good if Blaze has antibodies?"

"Exactly. But even in the past life, people could still catch the flu even after getting vaccinated, so we can only observe how it goes."

 "I see."

Amelia, who was measuring Blaze's temperature with a magic tool, let out a small sigh.

"It's great that Mr. Blaze's fever has gone down, but it's not a treatment anyone can easily do."

"That's true. There aren't many users of healing magic, and it doesn't really cure diseases."

"Every winter, I've wanted to find a way to save many people, but I didn't know there was a method like this. I wish I could use healing magic at least."

"Even so, it's impossible to use it like Sara does."

"I'm sorry, but even I can't keep doing this over and over."

It was rare for Sara to show weakness.

"Hmm. For now, it seems we don't need to give him fever-reducing medicine, but I'll explain it anyway."

As Rihito carefully explained the medication method to Amelia, she took notes on the key points.

"Does this medicine have any side effects?"

"There's no such thing as a medicine with absolutely no side effects. You might vomit or get a rash. It can even cause liver problems, so you need to be careful and watch for symptoms after taking it. The reason I had Sara treat me first is that it puts a strain on the liver."

 "I understand."

"Also, encephalopathy can happen even without taking the medicine. It's hard to tell just by looking, but these two types of encephalopathy are not the same."

 "Is that so?"

"Yeah. So, even if you're not taking the medicine, you can't let your guard down."

 "Okay."

While Amelia was listening to Rihito's lecture and taking notes, Thomashiina walked over to Sara.

"Milady Sara, Sir Jeffrey is approaching Maiden's Tower alone. What should we do?"

"He probably came rushing here because he's worried about Blaze. Let him in."

 "Understood."

Sara and the others decided to leave the guest room and welcome Jeffrey, who had arrived at Maiden's Tower.
