chapter 354 Healing Or Rebirth

Chapter 354 Healing Or Rebirth

Sara returned to her room with Edward and Rihito, clearing the area and casting soundproof magic.

"I have a general idea of what's going on since you came from Adam's room, but let me hear your request just to be sure."

"Well, it's just... it's kind of hard to talk about..."

Edward's gaze wandered around. It was probably difficult for him to speak up to Sara, who looked more like a little girl than a young woman.

"I guess there's no helping it. Please wait a moment."

Sara walked to the screen in the corner of the room and called out Mike, transforming into a woman in her thirties, older than Sophia. Even so, her beauty reflected in the mirror was completely intact, and because of her curvy figure, some might find her more attractive than Sophia. After all, her feminine charm was about 50% stronger than Sophia's.

Looking at herself in the mirror, Sara changed her dress to a slightly more provocative design, lifting her ample chest to emphasize the difference with her slim waist.

 "Thank you for waiting."

 "!!!!"

For a moment, Edward froze and lost his words.

"I hadn't told you, Uncle Edward. Sophia and I are the same person. I can change my physical age with fairy magic."

"B-but you were both at the meeting!"

"One of us is a golem. I can now create a golem with a human-like body."

"Isn't that a bit too outrageous?"

"I really think so too, but please accept it as it is. Ah, of course, this is just between us. It seems like we will be working together soon, so I thought it might be better to reveal our true identities early. It might be good to tell Aunt Elizabeth and the cousins as well. There could be some strange rumors about Uncle Edward and Sophia, and that could cause trouble."

Edward swallowed hard and muttered softly.

"But you're beautiful. The title of 'Beauty of the Nation' suits Sara more than Revi, I think."

"Should I record that right now and send it to Aunt Elizabeth?"

"I was just stating an objective fact. I have no strange intentions! I'm all about Liz."

"That's quite wonderful, isn't it? Now, with this appearance, I think you can speak freely, right?"

Then Rihito smiled wryly and spoke to Sara.

"With that look, the conversation might change a bit. Right now, Sara might be more beautiful than the princesses of the royal capital."

"Oh, how rare. Rihito is being casual in front of Uncle Edward."

"I thought it might be easier for Your Excellency the Young Marquis to talk if I was more relaxed."

"I appreciate that, Mr. Paracelsus... or rather, thanks, it helps. Let me call you Rihito too. You can just call me Ed."

"Sure, feel free to call me whatever you like."

Edward and Rihito exchanged glances and smirked at each other.

"Adam's injuries have healed nicely. As a father, I am very grateful to Sara."

"But there are still some problems left, right?"

"This morning, it seems there was a malfunction."

"I assume that means a problem with reproductive functions, but since he just recovered from an injury, isn't that something that can happen?"

"We hope that's the case too, but I heard from him directly that 'something has been lost'."

"There might be a feeling only he can understand. I'm sorry; my repair treatment might not have been enough."

"No, in terms of appearance, it was more than enough..."

 "Huh?"

"His nose looks sharper and more handsome than before, and apparently, that important part has grown bigger too. Maybe you took inspiration from us, but he seems to have matured in appearance."

"Sir Adam looked satisfied with that, so it seems we don't need to worry about it."

"Oh, I see. The internal repairs were supported by Rihito, but for the facial features, I had to rely on my memory. As for the lower abdomen, it might be Daniel's fault."

 "Huh? Why that guy?"

"Something happened when we were dancing at the ball before; he bumped into me."

 "What a scoundrel!"

Edward was furious. It seems he has affection for his niece as an uncle.

"Can you really say you've never been in an awkward situation while dancing with an attractive woman? For example, did you feel comfortable dancing with aunt before marriage?"

 "Th-that's..."

 Edward quietly looked away.

"Daniel can't be helped. He's infatuated with Sophia. I feel like he's just being fooled by the looks. But I think it's natural for a young man, and we shouldn't make a fuss and make the other person uncomfortable."

 "You're oddly calm about this."

"I'm taught in lady's education that such things can happen. Some people are so bold that they might push their intentions onto others, so I must be careful not to let them notice that I'm aware. If I blush even a little, I might end up being taken into a dark place."

"Ugh... lady's education is really something else."

"But Chloe is supposed to be going through it normally, right?"

"As a father with a daughter, I really don't want to hear about this. By the way, do you ladies just have to pretend not to notice those bold people and suffer in silence?"

"There are various ways to deal with it, but if it's a young lady, she can act sick and cry to her chaperone. Of course, if the woman is a proper chaperone, she will quickly notice such intentions and will take appropriate action."

"I see. I would like to hear a report about it afterward from the father, if possible."

The light had disappeared from Edward's eyes. He clearly looked angry.

"Uncle, Chloe hasn't experienced anything like that yet. Please calm down. Now, let's get back to the main topic."

"Oh, right. Anyway, I was happy she grew up."

"If she grows too much, won't it be a problem when the time comes? Well, I guess the real problem is that the time might never come."

 "That's true."

Once again, Edward slumped his shoulders in disappointment.

"Well, well, Ed. I don't think there's a mental problem, so I believe treatment is possible."

"I hope so, but Rihito, you will have to learn healing magic from now on, right? You said it would take some time to master it."

"From the flow of the conversation, I guess it's hard for you to ask me directly for treatment, so Uncle, you want me to teach Rihito how to use healing magic, right?"

Edward and Rihito nodded at the same time. The sight of them looked like 2 red cows lined up, which made Sara chuckle a little.

"Well, back then, Adam was seriously injured, so I just focused on healing his wounds and regenerating the damaged parts without thinking too much. I've thought about it calmly since then, but if there are still functional issues, I can treat him, you know? However, if Adam is resistant to being treated by me, Rihito will have to do his best."

"I was guessing that this kind of treatment might be too much for Sara to handle..."

 "Why is that?"

"Well, an unmarried woman probably doesn't know how to do this kind of thing, and besides, the real Sara is still only 8 years old..."

Receiving Edward's gaze directly, Sara seemed to have a lot of impact with her appearance, making it hard for him to find the right words.

"Rihito, did you think my past life was that of a lonely girl?"

"Not exactly, but I thought maybe you were too good at your job, and guys might be scared off."

"Oh, I see. You thought that way. But Rihito, weren't you at a level where you could have been a magician or a wise man in your past life?"

"N-no! I was just busy with work, and before I knew it, things just faded away."

"But you're still single at over 40, you love figures, and you had quite the middle school syndrome, right? You said you were attacked by a thug right before the year-end festival, but didn't you have a girlfriend to spend Christmas or New Year's with?"

 "Ugh..."

Over 300 years later, old wounds still seemed to hurt, and Rihito slumped his shoulders. However, he quickly lifted his face and glared back at Sara, launching a sharp counterattack.

"But isn't it true that there were more guys who said things to you like, 'Work is more important than me, right?' or 'You're strong, so you'll be fine on your own?' If not, how come you were getting asked for 'pocket money' by younger guys?"

"Th-that's terrible! I really care about this!! I tried to avoid working on weekends when I had a boyfriend by increasing my overtime and cleaning my place until it sparkled, cooking homemade meals! I put a lot of effort into slow-cooked dishes. And then, right before we broke up, he said, 'I can't accept that you earn more than me because of my pride.' But then, his arranged marriage partner was a rich girl who had so much money that my salary seemed like nothing! He even got her a condo in a prime area of the city. Where did his pride go!!!!"

"Uh, sorry. I might have said too much."

 But Sara didn't stop.

"And about the pocket money? That was real. He was the same age as me, but he was a law student. I used to give him money now and then. He said, 'I want to propose, but I can't buy a ring right now, so wait until I pass my exams,' but as soon as he became a lawyer, he dumped me and married the boss's daughter. He said, 'You understand, right? Sarasa, you're ambitious and will get it.' What even is that?"

It was the moment when Sarasa's dark history exploded. Edward and Rihito were both taken aback.

"Sorry, I don't think I understand half of what Sara is saying, but basically, you were devoted to a guy in your past life and then got dumped, right?"

"Uncle, thank you for understanding correctly. That's right. Men who dislike women who can work better and earn more than them often prefer empty-headed women with money, or they date women who supported them until they got promoted, only to marry the rich daughter of a big family. So, this time, I plan to marry a kind husband who will love only me and have cute children. I absolutely refuse to have a political marriage with some awful noble."

"Oh, I see. There are many men like that among the nobles in this world, so don't worry, we'll crush any proposals with such people. However, with the way you talk, it seems you weren't pure in your past life."

"In that other world, it's not common for noble ladies to be expected to be pure before marriage. It used to be somewhat important, and there are still men who believe in virginity, but many of them might lack confidence if they are compared to someone else. Or maybe they have a pathological obsession with cleanliness."

"Well, our insistence on purity is due to the need to pass on bloodlines."

"Then I think it should be passed down through women. With a male line, there are times when you might not notice if a child is not yours, but with a female line, you can be sure the child is yours."

"Sara, don't you know there's magic in this world that can determine parentage?"

 "Huh, there's such convenient magic?"

"Actually, it's a type of magic that's kept secret by some religious groups. I've seen it, so I know the technique."

"Rihito, if you sold that magic circle, it would probably sell like crazy, right?"

"I wouldn't recommend it, as it might lead to unhappy children being born."

 "...Yeah, that's true."

 "Ahem, cough."

Edward cleared his throat loudly to stop Rihito and Sara's wild conversation.

"So, for now, we can assume that you understand how men and women create the next generation, right, Sara?"

"I understand. Basically, you want me to fix Adam's dysfunction and make him work properly, right?"

 "Is that even possible?"

"We won't know until we try."

Suddenly, Rihito burst out laughing, holding his stomach.

"Sara, you're forgetting how you look right now. Saying that a woman like you can treat a young man's dysfunction is pretty twisted, you know? And saying 'we won't know until we try' sounds like you mean something else entirely!"

At Rihito's comment, Sara smiled charmingly and quietly raised her hand towards him. The next moment, a gust of wind blew, and a red line appeared on Rihito's beautiful face, with blood dripping down.

"Indeed, there are many things we won't know until we try, right, Rihito?"

"Um, Ms. Sara? Are you really angry? It was just a little joke. I'm really sorry if I upset you. Please forgive me."

"Hey, Rihito. How about rubbing some 'NaCl' on that cut? Oh, maybe a solution of 'H2O2' would remind you of the school nurse and be even more twisted. Should I wear a lab coat and pour it on you? I think I can imagine that now."

"If I had to choose, I'd prefer the hydrogen peroxide... but, um, no. You don't need to trouble yourself, Ms. Sara. I'll fix it right away."

Rihito hurriedly activated his healing magic to treat his wound. Sara watched him intently.

"That's definitely different from my healing."

"I think Sara's magic is more about regeneration than healing. I'm not an expert, but if the regenerative medicine research team saw Sara's magic, they would be amazed."

"I see, so it's close to regenerative medicine."

"Yeah. Me and Lady Orson enhance the person's healing ability to help them. Of course, there are limits to what we can treat. But Sara's magic is like completely replacing the parts of the body. Plus, since it's their own cells, there's no rejection. However, considering that it can't stray too far from the original characteristics of the body, it might not be able to cure genetic diseases."

"I feel like I understand the characteristics of my healing magic now."

And she smiled at Rihito, or rather, smirked.

"If it's regeneration magic, then to ensure Adam can be treated, how about we start by cutting off your thing and regenerating it, Rihito's? Since you already have plenty of descendants, you wouldn't be in trouble if it fails, right? Think of it as a contribution to future medicine, so please donate your body!"

"Sara, you're definitely angry, aren't you!? And I'm not dead yet!"

Watching this, Edward strongly realized that he should never make Sara angry.
