Volume 1 Chapter 96 Father And Francois-correct
Francois opened her mouth, so I kept feeding her peach sorbet.
Her pale cheeks turned rosy, her shallow breaths became deep and calm, and her big blue eyes blinked open, staring straight at me.
"Big Sister, Big Sister, Dear Big Sister Lydia...!"
Francois suddenly sat up from the bed and hugged me.
Her blood-stained clothes had a big tear in the stomach area, but her injuries were still healed by Sir Ciel, and she had strength in his hands and body.
Maybe because Francois was feeling better, the view of Lobelia Diner House returned to the original dark dungeon, and we were standing in the dim underground cell.
Francois was about my height, and her body was delicate and small.
As she clung to me and cried, she felt like a little child.
"Francois... Are you okay?"
"Big Sister, I'm sorry, I'm sorry."
Sir Roxas grabbed Francois by the scruff of her neck and pulled her away from me.
Sir Stefan stood protectively, hiding my body behind his back.
"Don't touch Lydia, you wicked girl. I won't forgive you."
"Francois. Who are you?"
With a cold voice, she asked Francois, who trembled and looked at me for help.
"I hate men, I really hate men, Big Sister, Big Sister...!"
"Francois..."
Francois reaching out to me desperately was so cute.
She looked like a stray cat with its fur standing on end, similar to how I was when Sir Stefan abandoned me.
"Pumpkin pudding..."
Eir-Eir muttered unhappily and moved from above my head into Sir Ciel's arms.
She looked very dissatisfied.
She had a face that said he wanted to eat peach sorbet.
Next to Sir Ciel, Mr. Lucian was holding my father──Holy Beast Arjuna──like it was the most natural thing.
Sir Rail was gently petting Arjuna's head. I wonder if he likes dogs.
My other father, my human father Feldur, approached me.
"Lydia... Are you safe, Lydia?... Ah, Lydia, my Lydia, my daughter with Tiansa.... You've grown, Lydia. You look so much like the lovely Tiansa."
"Father..."
My father called out my mother's name.
Tiansa Elgard.
I can't even remember her face, my mother.
He looked nostalgic, sad, and affectionate.
"I'll tell you everything that happened. I thank everyone for protecting Lydia. This is the punishment room in the Great Temple. A cell to lock up the priests who caused trouble. Let's get out of here."
Following my father's words, we left the dungeon.
I escaped from Sir Stefan's arms as he tried to lift me.
I had already been healed, and I felt fine.
I didn't need to be carried.
Sir Stefan looked sad, saying, "Ciel was being held."
He seems to remember when she was under Francois's mind control magic.
That means he probably remembers me saying bad things about his being as small as my thumb.
Let's not touch that. Yeah. That's for the best.
We were led into the spacious and relaxed reception room of the Great Temple.
Francois, whose dress was torn, was wearing my father's large robe.
The robe, which looked good on my tall and slender father, was too big for Francois.
Francois had a dissatisfied expression, dragging the robe like she was playing ghost, while clinging to my arm.
When Sir Roxas tried to pull her away, Francois hissed at her like a stray cat, so I scolded Sir Roxas.
I understand how she feels, so I want him to be gentle with girls.
"Once again, I apologize and thank you all. I'm glad Lydia is safe.... I almost killed my own daughter with my own hands. If that had happened, even if I could meet Tiansa again under the white moon, who tried to protect Lydia, I wouldn't be able to face her."
My father sat on the sofa in the reception room, bowing his head.
Without his robe, my father looked tall and stylish, and though I couldn't tell his age, he looked youthful and handsome.
With shiny golden hair and wet-looking blue eyes, my father, who had only seemed scary until now, looked beautiful.
It feels like I'm talking about someone else.
To me, the puppy Arjuna feels more like a dad.
"Lydia. You were too young to remember what happened back then. When Tiansa suddenly disappeared from the priest family."
"Mother was sick..."
I opened my eyes wide in surprise.
Francois was tightly clinging to my arm, and Sir Stefan was sitting next to me.
Across the large sofa arranged around the table, Sir Roxas was sitting.
Sir Ciel had Eir-Eir on her shoulder, Mr. Lucian was holding Arjuna behind me, and Sir Rail was leaning against the wall with her arms crossed.
"That was──a lie created after my heart was controlled by someone. Tiansa was a kind person. I loved Tiansa, and I think Tiansa loved me and Lydia too. She wouldn't just disappear for no reason."
"So, where is Lady Tiansa?"
When Sir Stefan asked, my father frowned.
"──A few days after Tiansa went missing, while I was searching everywhere, I found clothes believed to be hers, along with the necklace and ring I gave her, in an alley of the brōtḥel town Angel. I went to the brōtḥel town to look for Tiansa.... There, I met someone. A terrifying monster. My memories from there are hazy."
"Famine... monster... My mother was eaten too. Famine said if I didn't listen, she would eat my mother. But it was a lie. Famine ate my mother because she said she didn't need her anymore... she ate her."
Francois said, shaking as if remembering something from my father's story.
I hugged Francois tightly.
"I... can't remember very well. My mother... worked in a brōtḥel. It was a terrible place. I was born there. My mother was beautiful and popular, and because she was popular, she had little time to play with me. But she protected me so I wouldn't be scared... and the other women were kind to me too."
"...You said Famine was a monster, Francois. The Head Priest also met a monster."
Sir Rail said gently, as if confirming.
"She appeared suddenly. She was a beautiful woman.... Famine ordered my mother to gain the power of a saint... but my mother couldn't do it. Then, I... I don't know why."
"──Head Priest. Lady Soiree was definitely at the high-class brōtḥel, Ivris, in the brōtḥel town Angel. The monster is there. We will head there immediately with the Leonsroar people."
Mr. Lucian said in a calm voice.
"Saintwise is likely there too. Probably one of the witch's daughters. Famine is there. Your sister, Ms. Eiris."
Sir Ciel asked Eir-Eir, who was in her arms.
Eir-Eir replied with "pumpkin pudding," a response that was hard to tell if it was yes or no, and returned to my chest.
"I will go too.... We should split up. Francois was attacked. She probably realized Francois was at a disadvantage and wanted to silence her. The monster wants Lydia's power. If that's the case, Lydia is in great danger."
Sir Stefan said.
"Your Highness, I will go. Leave the monster hunting to the hero. Let's go with Ciel and Lucian. Lucian seems to know a lot about brōtḥels."
Sir Rail said, spinning one hand around.
He looked somewhat happy, as if he could finally move.
"I'm not that knowledgeable. Where did you get that information?"
"Lydia told me that Lucian often visits brōtḥels."
"That's not me; it's my subordinates. Lydia, I don't go to brōtḥels...!"
I stared at Mr. Lucian. Suspicious.
"Your Highness. Please stay here with Sir Roxas and protect Ms. Lydia and the others. We can't let our guard down until we defeat the witch's daughter."
"Father, please wait here too."
Sir Ciel said in a calm voice, and Mr. Lucian set Arjuna down on the sofa.
Arjuna curled up on the sofa, saying nothing, and soon fell asleep.
"I... I'm worried... What if you all get hurt? I want to be with you."
"Lydia, please wait here. I don't want to put you in danger. You are my goddess of victory. Just knowing you are sending me off gives me courage."
"Ms. Lydia, it's okay. Believe it or not, I'm actually pretty strong."
"Don't worry, princess. I'm a hero, after all. Now, let's go, mage and... magic swordsman, I guess. My friends."
I watched Mr. Lucian and the others leave.
Somehow, a bad feeling was heavy in my chest, sticking to me like mud.
