Volume 3 Chapter 41 Chrisrain: Elgard And A Lot Of Red Things
The door of Lobelia Diner House was locked when I went out, but there's a fancy-looking guy sitting at the counter.
He has smooth black hair split in the middle, wearing a fancy outfit with white and black lilies on it, and a fluffy white coat with black spots. He's got leather gloves on his hands.
He looks warm and really stands out, like he doesn't care about hiding his identity.
He seems very confident.
And he looks like someone I know.
He looks about the same age as Sir Ciel or Mr. Lucian, maybe a bit older. His purple eyes, like amethyst, suddenly widen when he sees me.
"Lydia! You must be Lydia, I've been wanting to meet you!"
With a big smile on his face, the fancy stranger opens his arms towards me.
I feel scared. Really scared.
It's been a while since I felt this way.
I thought no one would visit me like this anymore, so I let my guard down.
"Who are you...?"
"Chrisrain, why are you here...?"
"Chrisrain, what are you doing here...?"
"Lydia, I'm Chrisrain Elgard, the Crown Prince of the Elgard Kingdom."
The nobles seem surprised and call out the man's name, and Sir Stefan explains it to me.
Chrisrain Elgard.
I repeat it in my head, and since it's cold, we all go inside and close the door.
"Um, I'm not sure how you got in, but it's cold, right? Let me warm things up."
I go to the magic stone stove by the window where the tables are.
To light it, I just pull a lever down, and the flame heats up. Pulling it back up turns it off.
The magic stone stove was made by a craftsman, and it's really simple to use.
As soon as I pull the lever down on the white cylindrical stove, it gets warm right away.
Having one magic stone stove makes a huge difference in warmth.
"Lydia, shouldn't you be a bit more worried or scared? There's a stranger in a locked shop, you know?"
Sir Stefan says this with a worried look.
Lady Emilia quickly puts the groceries she bought, including some for Sir Stefan, in the kitchen and comes back right away.
Lady Anna is hiding a bit behind Sir Stefan.
"Well, it's just that... I'm kind of used to it, I guess..."
"Used to it? What do you mean by that?"
"Well, my shop often has good-looking strangers visiting, so I'm not that surprised when a new, good-looking stranger shows up..."
"What kind of life are you living, Lydia?"
"Oh, but recently it's been calm. Sir Ciel and Sir Roxas were scary at first, but they're not scary anymore."
"Did Ciel or Roxas do something to you, Lydia...?!"
Sir Stefan looks pale. But that's all in the past, so I think it's fine.
"I'm okay, we're friends now... um, so anyway..."
"I'm Chrisrain Elgard, Lydia. I came from the Elgard Kingdom to see your face. I got a letter from Aunt Tiansa and learned for the first time that the Bernard Kingdom is in big trouble."
"...Mother, Aunt...?"
"Yes. My father is Aunt Tiansa's brother, so I'm her nephew. That makes me your cousin. ...Lydia, you can call me brother if you want."
"Cousin... elder brother..."
"Wait, Lydia. You just called him elder brother... Chrisrain, but it's not cool to suddenly show up and take my place as brother."
"Stefan, you're her former fiancé, right? I'm the brother. We're blood-related, so you should just give up."
"Um, so, how about we drink something warm? You all must be cold after walking in the snow, right?"
"Thanks, Lyd-Lyd."
"Lyd-Lyd, you're the best. That's amazing."
For some reason, Sir Stefan and Elder Brother Chrisrain were glaring at each other, while I moved away from them and headed to the kitchen with Lady Anna and Lady Emilia.
Eir-Eir and Ms. Famine, who were in the bag hanging from Sir Stefan's shoulder, jumped at me.
Ms. Famine wrapped around my neck, and Eir-Eir sat on my head.
Dad walked over to a round stool by the cooking table, laid down a blanket, and settled into his usual spot.
Following us, Sir Stefan and Chrisrain came along too.
Wow, there are a lot of royals here now.
Speaking of which, I heard Mr. Tsukuyomi used to be a king, and Mr. Lucian was a prince.
There are so many princes around.
I should try not to think too much about it.
I wonder if it's okay to host royals in such a common restaurant.
"I'll boil some water. What do you want to drink? How about some warm ginger milk tea? Would Sir Stefan like some liquor..."
"I'm fine, Lydia. I don't drink during the day."
"Lydia, your elder brother likes ginger milk tea. That's great! Also, I brought a lot of special products from Elgard as a gift. I heard from my aunt that you opened a restaurant, so I thought you'd be happy."
As Elder Brother Chrisrain said this, suddenly, wooden boxes started falling from thin air.
Inside the boxes were lots of frozen creatures with long red legs.
"...Crabs...!"
They were crabs.
A huge amount of frozen crabs piled up on the kitchen floor.
"Thank you, Elder Brother Chrisrain! With this, we can celebrate the New Year...!"
I thanked Elder Brother Chrisrain, feeling confused.
I didn't really understand what was happening, but since he gave me crabs, he must be a good person.
