Volume 7 Chapter 5 The Delusion Of Cherry Blossom Viewing Together And Indecent Things
My homemade rice balls, ham sandwiches, egg sandwiches, and rolled omelet. Plus crab and octopus sausages.
Mr. Lucian brought wine and beer, bottled tea, berry juice, and orange juice.
Sir Ciel brought cakes from a popular patisserie in the Royal Capital, including chocolate cake with cherry blossom petal chocolate, cherry blossom pudding, and cherry blossom cream puffs.
As expected from a popular patisserie. They incorporate the season, and the cakes are really cute. I want to learn from them.
Sir Stefan brought street food like salmon sandwiches, pretzels, waffles, sausages, grilled octopus skewers, grilled beef skewers, roast beef sandwiches, and popcorn shrimp.
When Sir Roxas arranged everything on the plates and cups prepared by the Girard family, the rough collection of food suddenly transformed into an afternoon tea party.
"I thought cherry blossom viewing was just sitting on the ground, drinking, and staring at the scenery, but this is nice too."
Mr. Tsukuyomi, being from Wakoku country, looks great with the cherry blossoms and sake.
His usual flashy octopus-patterned kimono looks elegant under the cherry trees.
"People confess their love or make promises under cherry trees in every country. They do it in Wakoku country too. They say if you confess under the mysterious cherry blossoms, your love will come true or something like that."
"Sounds nice. Feels like youth."
"Those were our lost youthful days, Margaret."
"That's right. Lyd-Lyd, your time is coming, just wait."
Mx. Margaret and Mr. Tsukuyomi moved their chairs to overlook the town from the hill, sipping their drinks and reminiscing.
Youth.
My youth is just beginning. I'm not sure why, but it feels like spring. Probably.
"Pumpkin pudding."
"Ms. Eiris, due to the season, we didn't have pumpkin pudding. That's cherry blossom pudding. We say it tastes like cherry blossoms."
"Pumpkin..."
"Tarte Tatin."
"There's no Tarte Tatin, Ms. Famine. Please settle for the chocolate cake."
"...fried horse mackerel."
"Unfortunately, they don't sell fried horse mackerel at the cake shop."
Eir-Eirs gather around the cake that Sir Ciel brought.
Sir Ciel moves the cake onto a plate and serves each piece in front of the Eir-Eirs while chatting with everyone.
"Elder Sister, the rice balls are delicious. I love tuna, I really do."
"Is that so, FraFra? I'm glad to hear that."
"Elder Sister, you're still surrounded by those messy guys... Cute FraFra will cheer you up, so please come visit the clinic sometimes. Since you're working so hard, it's okay to bring some rice balls, you know?"
"Okay, I'll bring rice balls sometimes, FraFra."
"Elder Sister, I like you."
FraFra works at the Royal Capital clinic run by the Great Temple, both to atone for her sins and to make a living.
Since she can use light magic, she helps heal injuries and assists the doctors.
I really believe she's doing her best every day, so I'll deliver rice balls to her from time to time.
"Lydia, me too..."
"Elder Sister's rice balls are mine."
"Everyone's Lydia, Francois."
"She's my Elder Sister."
"Let's get along, FraFra, there are plenty of rice balls."
"Sure, Elder Sister! I'll share half of the rice balls since I have to. You can eat the ume, Your Highness. It's sour."
"I see, thank you."
FraFra glared at Sir Stefan like a wary stray cat, but she gently offered him a rice ball with pickled plum. Sir Stefan accepted it without getting angry.
I wonder if FraFra still dislikes men. I understand her feelings, but I hope she has a wonderful encounter under the cherry blossoms.
Since FraFra has had bad experiences in the brōtḥel, she deserves someone who would never cheat.
It would be best if she found someone who doesn't even know about the existence of a brōtḥel. Someone like that. The knights are definitely not the right choice.
The Saintwise folks seem serious, so I wonder if sheI could get close to Mr. Leavis.
I don't even know if Mr. Leavis is single or married. I just found out that my dad is married, like, just a moment ago.
"Lydia, you have cream on your mouth."
Mr. Lucian, sitting next to me, wiped my mouth with his firm fingers that held a sword, then licked the cream off his finger.
"Oh, thank you, Mr. Lucian."
"You're cute, Lydia. Your cheeks are red like cherry blossoms. ...I wonder if you're a little more aware now."
Mr. Lucian's fingers gently brushed my cheek, and he smiled wistfully.
When you vow love under the mysterious cherry blossoms, it becomes eternal. Memories of preparing lunch at Lobelia flashed in my mind. I feel like I'm doing something really wrong.
For a moment, I imagined it. Mr. Lucian's hand touching my cheek, just like Sir Ciel did, our lips getting closer, and then──.
"Lucian, don't create a nighttime atmosphere at the cherry blossom viewing."
Sir Roxas's voice snapped me back to reality. What kind of delusion was I having just now?
Getting caught up in the atmosphere is no excuse.
I saw Sir Rail quickly use magic to fix the crack in Sir Roxas's teacup, returning it to its original state.
Then, he gently patted my head.
"Princess, that was scary, huh? You can get mad and say it was sexual harassment. ...Huh? What's wrong?"
"I..."
Ah, I remembered.
I had been daydreaming about romance with Sir Ciel and Mr. Lucian.
I've never done anything like that before. It's crazy to involve my friends in my fantasies.
"I'm sorry, I... I've been thinking about something really, really inappropriate since this morning..."
I need to apologize properly
It's not right to drag them into my fantasies. I think it's really rude.
"W-what do you mean by inappropriate, Lydia...!"
"Wait a sec, princess. I have a bad feeling that Roxas is going to ruin the mysterious cherry blossoms, so hold on!"
"It's okay, big brother. I need to hear this. Lydia, what happened? Did those bad adults do something to you?"
Sir Roxas leaned forward, resting his hands on the table. Mr. Lucian shook his head vigorously.
"Sir Roxas, I didn't do anything to her. If anything happened, it was probably Ciel."
"...Ms. Lydia, that face of yours is cute too."
"Are you daydreaming, Ciel? Snap out of it. Get back to reality."
Mr. Lucian scolded Sir Ciel, who smiled and called me cute.
I felt even more embarrassed, so I clasped my hands in front of my chest and looked down.
"Um, actually, I... I had this fantasy of swearing my love in front of the mysterious cherry blossoms... I admit I had a little crush, but I've never really felt that way before. I was just thinking about the legend of the mysterious cherry blossoms, and then I imagined Sir Ciel and Mr. Lucian confessing to me... I'm sorry, even though we're friends..."
"What did you say?"
"Sir Roxas, you weren't here."
"I'll swear my love too, princess."
"I was trying to think about Sir Rail, but then I realized how inappropriate that was and came back to my senses..."
"Lydia, were they sincere? Did they do anything terrible to you in your imagination?"
Sir Stefan said this with a lot of concern, so I shook my head.
"Um, not really anything."
"Elder Sister, you don't need to apologize for that... Fantasies are a lady's pastime. I daydream a lot too. I imagine living on a hill by the sea with you, mother, and all the animals. Every day, my kind sister. It's the best."
"FraFra, thank you for cheering me up..."
Everyone was talking to me, but Mr. Lucian and Sir Ciel stayed silent.
Mr. Lucian hid his face with his big hands and looked down, while Sir Ciel covered his mouth with his hand and averted his gaze.
It must have been uncomfortable. They were used without permission for someone else's fantasies. I'm sorry about that.
"Lydia. Let's make your imagination a reality right now."
"...Ms. Lydia. No, I can't think... If I let my guard down, it's just too cute, and I can't find any other words..."
"I'll get my brother Roxas, His Highness Stefan to make Lucian, and Ciel drunk until they pass out. Let's erase the princess's words from their memories."
"Leave it to me."
"Alright, got it. You two, it's a royal order. Drink up."
FraFra and I sipped our juice while watching Sir Rail and the others push drinks onto Mr. Lucian and Sir Ciel.
I was glad I could apologize. I'll be careful not to do it again.
Living on the hill with a view of the sea with FraFra and Eir-Eir sounds fun too.
Mx. Margaret and Mr. Tsukuyomi were watching us, saying, "So young," "How nice, youth," as they clinked their cups together.
The wind blew, and cherry blossom petals danced down.
This spring is sure to be lively.
