Volume 1 Chapter 36, Part 2 Mean Villainess, Feeling Down
"Yes. I feel like I've experienced this light somewhere before..."
The teacher is deep in thought with his eyes closed.
Even his face is so beautiful that it's quite enviable.
"Speaking of the deep crimson that is close to me, I suppose it's Mister Eliseo?"
"Ah! Yes, it resembles the light he possesses very well!"
After all, she is Mister Eliseo's ancestor, Lady Ruby.
It's no surprise there are similarities.
"Then if something happens, I think I'll ask Mister Eliseo for help."
"Yes, that sounds good. I will certainly help as well."
"Thank you very much, teacher."
The teacher responded with a smile.
However, his expression quickly turned cloudy.
"...I see absolutely nothing about Ms. Elena's future."
"Absolutely?"
"This is the first time I've encountered something like this, but I can't see anything."
"...Wait, could it be that I will die...?!"
"I can't even see death."
So what does that mean──annihilation...?
"Losing something important in the near future, and then nothing afterwards?"
"Yes, nothing. However, this may be due to my lack of magical power. Let's take another look after some time."
What a kind person this teacher is.
The flower fortune-teller was amused when he saw the seed explode.
"Now, let's learn about the colors of the magic circle and how to make it shine effectively from next time."
With those words from the teacher, today's Divination Magic lesson ended.
* * *
"What? Lady Elena's Elder Brother, has he returned already?"
After school, Ms. Natalia and others called out to me.
They look very sad.
Yes, Elder Brother stayed here for a while after that, and went to see Mister Bruno, but someone who was probably a colleague from his workplace came and retrieved him.
"Did he say anything before leaving?"
"I want to be by my side more," I said, and continued.
"He said he'd come back soon."
"Really?!"
I was really taken by it.
"Lady Elena and Elder Brother, they were so wonderful"
Ms. Percella is laughing.
"──But there are some so-called charming men at the academy, right?"
It was Rudger who interrupted our girls' talk.
And it was Ms. Parsley who picked up on Rudger's words.
"Indeed, there are some charming men. But watching a wonderful man spoil Lady Elena so sweetly makes me feel warm inside. There aren't any of those men at the academy."
You guys must have felt warm watching a twisted sis-con.
"Lady Elena is able to maintain herself, so she's likely being spoiled by everyone, right? But when I think about how she's able to rely properly on her Elder Brother, it makes me feel warm."
So Ms. Natalia said.
Hearing that, I recalled what the crystal reading teacher had told me.
"You are very good at keeping secrets," were the words.
Being seen as composed might actually mean that I'm successfully hiding things.
Because in reality, all I'm thinking about is the game!
Also, Rolus!
"More importantly, Elena, there's a sweet smell in the air."
Suddenly changing the subject, Rudger is sniffing around me.
His posture resembles that of a dog.
"Is it because I baked a cake? But it's morning."
"That's probably it."
"Unfortunately, I don't have any with me, okay?"
"Aww."
"Because I baked it for Rolus"
Rolus wanted a cake I baked, so I baked one this morning.
I'm planning to eat together when I get home.
"Mr. Rolus? Are you celebrating something?"
I shook my head in response to Ms. Natalia's question.
"Rolus said he wanted to eat the cake I baked. That's all."
Ufufu, I said, laughing with pride.
Rudger tilted his head.
"Rolus can assert that he wants to eat. Even though he's eating lunch because of Elena's annoying performance."
"I insisted so he could tell me what he wanted to eat."
"I see"
"...But maybe it's not a good idea to repeatedly harass or coerce people."
I might lose Rolus someday.
The words that Rolus doesn't exist in my mother's game and that I'll lose something important to the fortune-telling teacher weigh heavily on my heart.
"Someday, he might get fed up with me like this, and Rolus might just go somewhere..."
When I muttered that, I heard a wry smile nearby.
"When it comes to Rolus, I don't think that will happen."
"Leve... Did you turn in your Defense Magic homework?"
"Yeah. Well then, shall we go, Elena?"
After Leve and I greeted everyone, we left the classroom.
"What's wrong, Elena?"
Once we were alone, Leve looked into my face and asked that.
He must have noticed that I seemed a bit down.
"Just now, the fortune-telling teacher told me that in the near future, I will lose something important."
Hearing my words, Leve looked completely baffled.
"So that means Rolus might go somewhere... Huh? Is it certain that I'll lose Rolus?"
"...He only said it's something important."
"Well, but do you think Rolus would leave Elena's side?"
Leve was deep in thought with her hand on her chin.
"But, I keep doing things that Rolus dislikes."
"To dislike it? Well, I guess he dislike it... Well, if that's what Elena thinks, then I guess it is. But I think that just as Elena cares for Rolus, Rolus cares for Elena, too, don't you think?"
"Really?"
"Yeah, that's true. How many years do you think he has been watching you?"
I felt somehow calmer after hearing Leve's words.
"A great childhood friend is a great thing to have. Thank you, Leve"
"You're welcome"
And so, we snatched the Rolus that was still being used by Mister Bruno in his reference room and headed for the entertainment room.
