Volume 2 Chapter 28 Easily Overcome the Hidden Dungeon
I had come to the hidden dungeon to rescue the abandoned S-rank adventurer.
"No way... this is a different room from the last time... this place is..."
Adventurer Cecily looked around and muttered in shock.
"It seems this dungeon's layout keeps changing."
"How can you know that?"
I extended my right hand.
A magic circle unfolded, displaying a 3-dimensional map made of light magic.
"T-This is...!?"
"This map is made by magic. I touched the dungeon earlier and read its internal structure."
"Is that... really possible? A-Amazing...!"
It's an application of Health Scan.
I touch with my hand, flowing magic, transmitting like waves to scan the structure.
I use it to find tumors in the body.
"According to the map, the corridors are constantly moving, and entrances are blocked."
"I used the Search skill. There are multiple life signs in this room."
Chippy pointed to a spot on the map.
It was near the lowest floor.
"A-Amazing! With this, I can see the shortest route! B-But if the internal structure keeps changing, the map might not mean..."
"It's okay. [Paralyze]"
I placed my hand on the dungeon floor and activated the skill.
Bash...!
After a jolt of electricity, the writhing dungeon walls stopped perfectly.
"Alright. Let's go."
"N-No way! Wh-What was that just now!?"
"I merely used the skill on the dungeon."
"Th-That's possible...? I've never heard of such a thing..."
While Cecily was astonished, Chippy puffed out his chest proudly.
"In front of Zeke, most impossibilities don't mean much. As expected of Zeke!"
We advanced, relying on the map for the shortest distance.
"! D-Dullahan!"
Cecily drew her sword at the headless knight that appeared directly in front of her.
"Now, now, calm down."
"But...!"
I tapped Cecily on the shoulder and moved forward.
As I approached, the knight began to tremble.
"Amazing... An A-rank monster is completely terrified... Is that true!?"
"Don't worry. I'm not going to kill you... Hmm, not all dungeon monsters are soulless beasts."
I activated Hand of God and lifted the Curse of the Ancestor.
The headless knight knelt before me.
"It seems like he wants to join us. Can I have him come along?"
"That's amazing, Zeke! To think you could even tame such a strong monster!"
I tapped Cecily's shoulder, who looked stunned, and we proceeded through the dungeon.
The creature-like monster was a fake, but this lifeless-looking monster was actually a living beast.
"Wow, it looks like we've got quite the crowd now..."
"Really?"
I had recruited all the monsters with will, like mimics and living swords.
Thanks to that, a wave of monsters followed behind us.
That's when we moved ahead.
Cecily heard a click beneath her feet.
"Eh... Kyaaaah!"
Suddenly, a large hole opened up beneath Cecily.
She started to fall.
"Cecily-san!"
Without hesitation, I jumped into the hole and caught her in mid-air.
I kicked off the wall and used a triangle leap to return to the ground.
"Are you okay?"
"Y-yes..."
Cecily looked up at me with teary eyes.
I gently set her down on the ground.
"......"
"...Zeke is mine."
Chippy quietly whispered something to Cecily.
"But traps are troublesome."
"Yeah, we've had our share of trouble too. It would be easier if we had a thief or scout."
"No problem at all."
I touched the ground and activated [Hand of God].
As the ground glowed, the open hole began to seal itself.
"Alright."
"Um, Lord Zeke, what are you...?"
"I applied healing magic and removed all the traps set in the dungeon."
Healing restores broken things to their original state.
I simply applied it to revert the dungeon to its trap-free original state.
"S-so amazing... Lord Zeke, who on earth are you?"
"Well, I suppose I'm basically a doctor."
"I've never heard of a doctor being able to do such things. You're incredible, Lord Zeke!"
Cecily looks at me with sparkling eyes.
"...You, later, come to the rooftop."
Chippy mutters something to Cecily in a low voice.
As enemies appear like that, we smoothly advance through the dungeon.
After a while.
"Is this it?"
In front of me is a dead-end wall.
"There are people on the other side of this wall."
"N-no way...! How can we get through with no path...?"
I knock on the wall.
"Do you think I could break it with a punch?"
"D-don't say such foolish things. The dungeon walls are said to be the hardest in the world, even surviving a direct hit from extreme magic. You can't do that with your bare hands."
I draw back my fist and slam it against the wall.
With a tremendous impact, cracks run through the wall.
The wall shattered with a loud noise.
"No way... this can't be real..."
Cecily crouches down in disbelief.
There were multiple adventurers and a vast number of monsters there.
"A-are they reinforcements!? But there are only 2 of us..."
"[Paralyze] [Sleep]"
The large number of monsters surrounding us all fall down at once.
"I-I can't believe it... to incapacitate those powerful monsters in an instant..."
"As expected of Zeke! Hidden dungeon is a piece of cake!"
