Volume 1 Chapter 50, Part 2 Childhood Friend, The One Who Extracted The Truth

"If you're going to oppose Elena, then you'll show your bond, right?"

"Oppose? No way. I actually like Ms. Elena. And, um, the servant who is always around? That Mr. Rolus?"

She seems to know about Rolus.

But if that's the case, then why does she need to avoid Elena?

"If you like her, why avoid her?"

"...Well, it's because, how should I put it, I don't want to be disappointed."

"Disappointed? Elena would be disappointed in you?"

If Elena is disappointed in Flora, it means she knows Flora, but Elena hasn't shown any signs of that.

"It seems like Elena doesn't know you."

 "Well, yes, that's probably true."

Then how would she be disappointed?

I can't understand it at all.

"I don't get it, so could you explain it in detail?"

Upon saying that, Flora completely closed her mouth and fell silent, beginning to think.

Then, after a long pause, she opened her mouth again.

"Promise you won't tell Ms. Elena?"

 "I promise."

I might break the promise depending on the content of the conversation.

"...Mr. Leve said that you and Ms. Elena were childhood friends."

 "Yes."

"So, have you ever played the game that Ms. Elena bought?"

"That's right. I've played it many times and I like that game too. Except for the witch."

 "Other than witches, huh..."

Flora muttered this and suddenly closed her mouth again.

Then, as if making up her mind, she took a deep breath.

 "...I made that game"

"What? Eh, no, but the name is "

"It's a pseudonym, or rather a writer's name, because I didn't use my real name."

The shocking truth completely stopped my thoughts for a moment.

 "What? What? What?"

"My father was a picture book author. I loved playing games with my father, and before long we started making games together, and before we knew it we were selling them."

 "Oh, that's right..."

"Yes. So, when I asked the toy store owner about who might buy my toy, he suggested I give working there a try."

"I see, so that's why Flora knew about Elena unilaterally."

"Not only does Ms. Elena buy a lot, but she also praises the game I made..."

She did indeed praise it a lot.

 Hmm, I see.

I can understand the feeling of wondering what kind of face to make while talking.

Since Elena praised her without knowing Flora, it's probably awkward for Flora, who knows everything.

 I would feel that way.

"Still, I never expected us to be classmates..."

"By the way, Ms. Flora, was the reason you stopped making games to enter this academy?"

"Ah, yes. I had some distant relatives who wanted me to graduate from the academy as quickly as possible, so before entering, I was forced to study manners and etiquette for several years, which made me quit making games and working at the shop."

"Ah, so you prioritized graduation over admission, which is why they made you transfer instead of enrolling normally."

"Yes, So Elena was really disappointed that the author, me, stopped making new games."

 "Ah... I see."

I'm sorry, she muttered, but Elena's disappointment was so great that the word "sorry" couldn't explain it.

Well, I'll keep quiet about this.

It seems like I'm blaming Flora.

"I see, I understand why you run away from Elena. I certainly think I would run away if I were in your position. She praises you so much that it's embarrassing. She even buy one game to play, one to keep, and one to spread the word."

"That's right, in the store she was telling me how fun that game was and praising it so much! Even my parents have never praised me so much! "

 "Ahahaha"

"It's not a joke! That's why, um, I thought it would be nice to talk someday, but all those compliments keep flashing in my mind and make me grin. It's definitely creepy, right? If I start grinning while talking..."

 "That's true."

It doesn't seem like she's a bad person, and she definitely won't harm Elena, plus this is her own issue, so I'll choose to stay out of it.

"Well, if Flora is avoiding Elena, that's one thing, but if Elena looks lonely, I'll play with your."

"Ah, yes! I understand the school layout well enough now, so you can guide me!"

"Yes, then, let's play together sometime."

"Huh, in the game I made?"

"Yeah. Elena plays while saying it's really fun, and she even compliments the beginners sweetly while playing."

 "Ahhh!"

If she's such a fun person, I don't think Elena would be disappointed at all.

But since she says she needs to prepare herself, I won't say anything.

"...By the way, you made that scary witch game too, right?"

"Yes. A mother of a child who played a lot asked for a scary game because her child wouldn't listen. So, she frightens them, saying that if they don't behave, a witch will come."

"Eh, are you okay? Does that girl hate you?"

 "I hope it's okay..."

 I don't think it's okay.

 I mean, it's too scary.

I actually kind of resent it.

 It's too scary.

And it seems she faces strong criticism.

But she didn't seem to care about that at all.

Looking at her, I'm sure Elena and her will become good friends someday.

I somehow thought something like that.
