Volume 6 Chapter 8, Part 2 It’s Okay. They Are People Who Do It When It’s Time… Maybe
The red of the setting sun illuminated Liz's smiling face.
Randy found himself captivated by her blush, as if her cheeks were painted.
"Please break off the engagement. Thanks to that, I had this wonderful encounter."
Randy was completely entranced by Liz's radiant smile, like a grand flower, but he finally grasped the meaning of her words and stammered, "W-wonderful──"
"Yes. Of course, the people I met after the engagement was broken──"
Saying this, Liz took Randy's arm.
"──is you, Randy."
Her enchanting smile was undeniably reminiscent of Ellie.
Yet, the aura was distinctly Liz's, leaving Randy in a state of confusion.
Moreover, he felt his face growing warmer.
(Oh, that was close. Thank goodness for the sunset...)
His face was undoubtedly flushed, but it was dusk.
The crimson sky would surely hide Randy's bright red face.
Still, he couldn't bring himself to look directly at Liz, who was entwining her arm with his...
Liz peered into Randy's eyes.
"...Are you embarrassed?"
Randy pouted, saying, "I-I'm not embarrassed," but Liz giggled mischievously, "Hehe."
"Ellie. The plan was a success."
Releasing Randy's arm, Liz stepped forward and twirled around.
The sunset illuminated Liz's hair in orange as she smiled against the backdrop of the setting sun.
Believing in the beauty and joy of Liz's words, it seemed Randy had been outsmarted by both Ellie and Liz.
(Being somewhat submissive might be just right...)
As Randy gazed at Liz framed by the sunset, he smiled softly...
"I too──"
He called out to Liz, who was skipping ahead.
Surprised by the sudden call, Liz turned back with a puzzled expression.
"I too. I'm glad to have met you and Ellie... both of you."
As Randy smiled at her, Liz's face gradually flushed... now Liz couldn't blame the sunset for it.
That was why Randy caught up to Liz and grinned.
"Are you embarrassed?"
"I-I'm not embarrassed."
Liz hurriedly faced forward, forcing the topic away with, "The sunset is dazzling," and began to walk a bit faster.
Randy caught up to the adorable Liz and murmured, "If that"s the case, I did something bad..."
Liz, who had been looking down in embarrassment, lifted her face, and Randy grinned mischievously.
"Maybe I should have said 'Thank you for introducing me to Liz and Ellie' instead of 'I'll punch you, Prince.'"
"I-I don't know."
Liz looked down again, but Randy placed a hand on her shoulder.
"What does Ellie think?"
"Wha! H-how did you know!"
Ellie, flustered, looked up, and Randy smirked, saying, "Don't underestimate me."
"I can tell the difference between you two right away──"
"Enough! I get it, I get it, so back off a bit!"
The setting sun gently watched over the 3 friends as they made their way home.

And now... Luke was still giving Randy a pointed look, demanding, "Tell me."
"Shut up. There's nothing to doubt."
Randy brushed off Luke, but he couldn't hide the slight blush on his cheeks from the memories.
"Looks like I kept everyone waiting..."
Lucius appeared right on time, but in front of him,
"Tell me."
"Just drop it. You'll only get burned by the flames of jealousy."
Luke and Randy were grappling with each other.
"Leon, let go. That big guy is──"
"That's why you shouldn't."
Catherine was held in a tight grip by Leon.
"...Well, that happened, huh──"
"That's right."
Cecilia and Liz, blushing, whispered excitedly.
A chaotic scene unfolded before them.
"Is this... okay?"
Faced with such a disorganized group, even Lucius couldn't help but express his concerns.
Two small shadows approached Lucius...
"Principal, please take care of us."
"Y-yes, please."
Cory and Annabelle bowed politely.
The younger students were the most composed of all.
Noticing this fact, Lucius squinted and nodded at the two *moral compasses* of the team.
"You guys are our greatest asset. Let's do our best."
Annabelle and Cory nodded in agreement at Lucius' words.
Too many cooks spoil the broth...and so the group's ruins investigation begins.
