"Well, during our regular meeting, I thought I'd bring up the future plans."
After everyone shared what had happened since the last regular meeting, Belta suddenly voiced those words.
"The other day, I talked with Saint, and you can probably guess the main topic."
Almost everyone present lightly nodded at his words.
This was because one incident they were all aware of had already been reported by Rai in this meeting.
"It's about the 'Reincarnator King' that Rai encountered."
Yes, the boy who calls himself the Reincarnator King, the Dragon King.
His existence had given the Purge Knights a certain shock.
"I can't believe the Reincarnators are gathering together."
"──We're only at the stage of there being a possibility, but..."
Howard corrected Leone's murmur.
However, if that possibility turned out to be true, the situation would be serious.
Until now, the Purge Knights were able to eliminate the Reincarnators, who possess overwhelming cheats (special abilities), simply because they were mostly immature and individualistic.
If they started forming organizations, developing their successors, and learning team combat, the threat would increase exponentially.
"First of all, even though we've been eliminating them by the trust of Saint Stella, are there really that many Reincarnators left?"
Noah yawned and raised that question.
The one who answered that question was Rai Conwell.
"The trust of Saint Stella isn't infallible. It only tells us that a Reincarnator will appear somewhere."
"──So, what does that mean?"
"It means there are still plenty of Reincarnators living peacefully that haven't been exposed by the trust."
Leone said this with a sigh.
At those words, several including Rai showed expressions as if they had bitten into a sour bug.
──Yes, Saint's trust is not omnipotent.
It's more like a system full of flaws, to be honest.
But for now, we've got no choice but to rely on this trust to smoke out the Reincarnators before they cause some big disaster.
"So, here is our future plan."
Cutting through the gloomy atmosphere, Belta's voice slices through the air around the round table.
With a gentle smile, he continues,
"Starting now, I'll split these 7 into 3 teams and have them take on missions. One team will head to the oddball Lord Eltor's place for an investigation. The second team will go to the trading city's coliseum. And the last team will stay here to protect the Saint."
"──Well, I'm probably going to have to stay home this time anyway."
"No, Alfonso will go with me and Howell to the trading city."
"Seriously!?"
Alfonso, making a joke about being left out again, is surprised by an unexpected response.
The shock isn't just his; the other knights are just as taken aback.
The need for a knight like Alfonso Gratstone is what makes this situation something like an emergency.
"And for Lord Eltor's place, I want Rai and Noah to go. You two are the best suited for this."
At the instruction, Noah lets his shoulders drop in an 'exasperation' kind of way, while Rai quietly nods in agreement.
"So, why to Lord Eltor's?"
When Rai asks Belta this, he puts on a slightly serious expression.
"He has serious suspicions of traitorship. ──Of collusion with the reincarnated."
