Volume 6 Chapter 62-2 I Thought It Was Done, But It's Different From the Original Goal
The shape obeys my will.
Secret symbols spread and are carved here.
[Magic circle activated]'"
The moment she pierced the paper with her brush, light raced around the ruins, and a magic circle appeared on the ground in an instant.
"No way... really?"
Randy couldn't help but smile wryly at the huge magic circle that had appeared.
"Bow down."
Ellie, laughing, told him that she had applied the base magic circle to the special stones that made up the ruins and carved important coordinates into the sphere where her staff was planted.
"I don't really get it, but it's still amazing."
Randy, who didn't understand the complicated explanation, could only think it was awesome.
But more than that...
"Can we fly over there?"
"Let's try it."
The two of them hurried back to the teleportation gate at Victor's port and quickly rewrote the coordinates there.
This should theoretically allow them to teleport to Braubelg's small island...
"I'll check it out."
Saying that, Ellie activated the gate and disappeared with teleportation magic, only to return right away.
"It's perfect! A gate has appeared over there too."
Hearing that, they couldn't resist jumping in.
"Let's go..."
Determined, Randy suddenly thought of something and said, "Wait a minute," before dashing out of the hut.
Randy ran to the port to grab a few necessary items and returned carrying a small boat.
"What's this?"
"It'll be tough over there without a boat."
At Randy's words, Ellie nodded, saying, "That makes sense," and stored the boat away into thin air.
Even though it was a small boat, it could hold about 5 people.
It was too big to go through the teleportation gate.
Finally ready, Randy boldly jumped into the teleportation gate... He felt a moment of weightlessness and was surrounded by light, but quickly noticed something strange under his feet.
Unlike the hut at the port, Randy opened his eyes to find himself on a slightly unstable ground, surrounded by the night-shrouded ruins of Braubelg.
"Oh, wow!"
Just as Randy struck a victory pose, Ellie appeared, having also passed through the teleportation gate.
"As expected, I'm a genius."
Ellie nodded with satisfaction, and Randy exclaimed, "That's amazing!" He tried to hug her again, but Ellie dodged him with a short-range teleport.
"Y-You fool! Don't just hug me anywhere!"
Ellie blushed, and Randy pouted, saying, "I'm not hugging you!" But to Ellie, getting hugged again was not an option, so she kept her distance from Randy.
"Well, it's fine. Once I get my body back, I'll give you a double hug."
"You idiot. Do you think I would get caught by you?"
Ellie laughed, but she forgot something important.
Randy was currently suppressing his power with Rune.
Anyway, Randy was happy that Braubelg and Victor were connected, but then he suddenly realized something important.
"Wait a minute. Isn't this one-way traffic reversed?"
It was true.
If Liz wanted to go home, she could teleport back.
Rather, Lucian and Flora wanted Liz to use the teleportation gate when they wanted to see her, but as it was, Lucian and the others couldn't use it.
"Should we bring the teleportation gate over here?"
"Idiot. Victor's dragon cave is deep in the Beast Forest. Besides, it was originally Clarice's means of transportation."
Randy sighed, "That's right," as he dropped his shoulders in defeat at Ellie's exasperated face.
It was too dangerous to go deep into the Beast Forest without a guard.
Plus, they originally brought the teleportation gate back as a means of transportation for Clarice.
It was also one of the measures for the new town.
An important relic for Victor.
"Well, if we take our time, we could make a gate from this ruin..."
Ellie sighed, saying it would take time and require focus, so it was better to put it off just in case.
"That's true. We don't even know the exact day of the eclipse, and losing your body again is a bigger problem."
Randy nodded, agreeing that the ruins they visited during the practice and Braubelg were too far apart, making the view of the eclipse different.
That would be the worst.
He could miss it.
Randy thought, "We have to avoid that." He was happy they could do long-distance teleportation for now.
"My coffin would be good material, right?"
Ellie said they could make it a gate just for Clarice.
"Okay, let's stop for today."
"Yeah. I'm tired."
Ellie disappeared.
Randy said, "Good work." He looked up at the sky with many stars.
"I'm hungry."
"If we want some good fish..."
"Let's go to Marquis's house."
Randy smiled.
Liz said, "But..." She didn't finish.
Liz wanted to see Lucian and the others.
But she was worried about bothering them, like she said before.
"It won't bother them."
Randy shook his head with a smile.
"It's like a gift." He smiled at Liz.
Cedric and Lucian would feel better after seeing Liz.
They could do their best again tomorrow.
Liz looked shy and nodded, "I wonder..."
"Then Randy too──"
"No. I'm going to pass this time. I don't want to bother them."
Randy shook his head, and Liz looked a little sad. He explained he just wanted to enjoy some sea fishing and pulled out a fishing rod from his magic bag.
It was one he'd borrowed from his grandfather Volcan's old collection when he brought the boat earlier.
"...Okay. I'll come get you here tomorrow morning."
Liz looked a bit reluctant but vanished with a teleportation spell after summoning a boat from thin air.
Randy, glancing at where she'd been, stretched exaggeratedly to shake off the loneliness.
"Now... Let's go night fishing."
Randy grinned and ran to the pier on the island, carrying the boat.
* * *
Liz was with her family. Randy left the island on a boat.
In the backstreets of Braubelg, Heisenberg...
"Braubelg is tougher than I thought."
"Is it really okay not to defend that small island?"
A voice whispered in the dark, and another shadow hit the man who said, "Fool."
"Don't mention that place. We don't know who is listening."
The shadow, looking around, warned that the place was important, so it must remain untouched.
"If we have a fight there and destroy the ruins, do you think it won't affect our dreams?"
The intense voice from the shadow made the others nod, feeling pressured.
"Anyway, tonight we will definitely scare Heisenberg."
Another shadow nodded in agreement, and they all scattered into the night's darkness.
They did not know.
They did not know that the ruins, left alone on purpose to mislead Braubelg, had already been magically altered.
And...
"Oh, I can see the harbor."
...The magic stone engine on the ship roared, as a dangerous man headed towards Heisenberg for a hunt they called "fishing," posing as a "Pilgrim of Truth."
