Volume 6 Chapter 64-2 The Opponent Wasn't Right
Randy's right fist.
Passing through the Doom Hound.
Randy's fist pierces the Doom Hound.
Its body sways and twists, but it takes no damage at all.
The swaying Doom Hound dodges Randy's fist and swings its claws down.
The claws sink into Randy's shoulder... but in the next moment, the Doom Hound is sent flying.
The men's faces turn to shock as the Doom Hound slides across the floor.
Physical attacks and magic don't work.
Yet, it was blown away.
It's a strange phenomenon, but seeing the Doom Hound baring its teeth in anger, it's clear it took some kind of hit.
"Come on, pup! Let's play!"
Clapping his hands and waving, Randy looks like a playful owner with a dog.
Provoked by Randy's complete mockery, the Doom Hound crouches low and charges forward.
It leaps up, aiming for Randy's throat.
Just as its fangs are about to reach... the Doom Hound is slammed to the ground.
The Doom Hound hits the ground and quickly tries to jump back, but it's clear that some kind of shock canceled its attack.
"If the attack hits, then it must have a physical form at that moment, right?"
Just as Randy spins his fist, he explains that the Doom Hound being blown away is due to his counter.
Randy theorized that if the opponent's attack is physical, it must become real at the moment of the attack, so he struck back.
As a result, just as Randy predicted, the Doom Hound only becomes real for a split second when it attacks.
Right before the attack actually lands.
Just like how his first high kick in a normal counter didn't hit, the timing for this counter is even more critical.
It's just that Randy hitting that timing on the second try is abnormal.
Of course, the Doom Hound is aware of Randy's counter.
That's why it tries to keep its distance from Randy, clearly reluctant...
"If you won't come to me, then I'll come to you!"
Randy disappears and reappears right in front of the Doom Hound in an instant.
He throws a right punch.
It seems like it would pass through the Doom Hound again... but that strike distorts and sends the Doom Hound flying.
The blown-away Doom Hound steadied itself in front of Randy's left fist.
The Doom Hound twisted around Randy's fist.
But this time, it wouldn't end with just one hit.
Randy's fists roared with power.
Waves spread out from his fists, and with a big swing of his right hand, the Doom Hound was sent flying.
In this complete chaos, one of the men whispered, "Why?"
But no one could answer him.
After all, what Randy was doing was a rare skill──attacking a different space called the "spirit realm" with shockwaves.
It was harder to find someone else who could do this besides Randy.
Normally, you would use a specific magic to forcefully disrupt the frequency between the spirit realm and reality, but Randy was doing it with physics.
And he was doing it by instinct.
He slammed his fist into the air, bringing the impact right before the hit.
At that moment, the vibrating air delivered direct damage to the spirit realm.
Randy could even punch through the walls of dimensions.
Shaking the air and creating waves was a piece of cake for him.
A strike that could break not just dimensions, but phases──no, a blow that could shatter alternate realities.
Even the mighty Doom Hound was hesitant in front of Randy's attack.
"Hey, pup. What's wrong? At this rate, I can't put you in the Randolph Victor legend."
Facing Randy's frown, the Doom Hound seemed to gather its courage and let out a low growl.
It must have realized from the earlier attack that running away wouldn't help.
"Good. Not bad for a mutt."
As Randy clenched his fist and whispered, "Come on," the Doom Hound closed the distance to Randy in the blink of an eye.
The claws came down.
Just as they were about to hit Randy, his left fist was faster, catching the Doom Hound's body.
Thud!
It was a light touch, but it shook the entire body of the Doom Hound, and then──
A black shadow burst out in all directions right in front of Randy.
"Well, I'll at least give you a line in the biography."
Laughing, Randy turned to the men and said, "What about you guys?"
The precious Doom Hound was taken down in an instant, and the men were completely on edge, but since they had blocked their own escape, they couldn't even run away.
Still searching for an escape, the men backed away slowly as Randy smiled and said, "Alright, let's play."
It was a wild, beast-like grin that seemed almost inhuman.
That was the last moment they saw him.
The moment they caught sight of Randy.
First, the man at the edge was blown away.
A huge hole opened in his chest without any warning.
Like a ragdoll, the man was sent flying by Randy's fist, pierced through the chest, and then tossed aside.
The head of the man who looked up was blown off, and almost at the same time, the man next to him charged into another guy with great force.
Tired of killing them one by one, Randy grabbed a man's arm and swung him around.
The sword dropped by the man bounced on the ground.
Randy kicked the hilt.
The sword flew with force, straight into another man's chest.
Next to the man who was blown away by the sword, another man had his head blown off by a knife.
The man who widened his eyes at that was sent flying by Randy's flying kick.
Sword, knife, kick.
At almost the same time, the wave of attacks kept coming without pause.
A weapon dropped by someone took another life with Randy's devilish throwing technique.
The man who tried to escape was pitifully swung around instead of a weapon.
Before they knew it, the countless men fell silent in an instant, leaving only those pinned to the walls and floor.
"Now then..."
In front of Randy, a door that had been invisible appeared, leading deeper inside.
"Come out already. Don't waste my time."
As if answering Randy's words, the door creaked open slowly...
