"Anyway, that's how it feels, but thank you for today."
Just before sunset, Rize thanked Alfonso with a bow as he escorted her to the dormitory entrance.
He thought she was very polite, showing a perfect example of etiquette.
Maybe she's the type to be a bit rough with close friends, Alfonso pondered, chuckling to himself about whether her friendly nature was a good or bad thing.
"It's a shame it wasn't with a handsome guy."
Rize also chuckled at Alfonso's sarcasm.
"Mr. Alfonso, you're surprisingly the possessive type?"
"I'm super possessive. I even plan to overthrow Belta someday!"
Seeing Alfonso's evil grin, Rize remembered something Rai had said before.
Belta and Alfonso were so-called peers, battle comrades who had weathered many tough battles together.
Despite being complete opposites in personality and background, maybe that's why there was something that connected them, Rize thought.
And at the same time, she thought of something else.
"Mr. Alfonso, are you free after this?"
"Well, not really, why?"
He didn't have much planned other than idly waiting for Belta to return and hear his report.
"Oh, could it be a dinner invitation?"
"No, if you don't mind, I was going to head back to the training ground for a sparring match"
"How about we have dinner instead?" Rize asked with a smile that almost said just that.

The third in the Purge Knight sequence, bearer of the title "The Strongest Knight," a Holy Knight.
Having been assigned as a Purge Knight for some time now, Rize had never seen Alfonso fight.
Not in actual combat, nor in simulated battles.
That's why she thought this was a good opportunity.
To witness the power of a senior Purge Knight, one she admired.
Rize was excited to think that Alfonso's strength would be a sign of things to come.
"You're quite the battle maniac too, aren't you?"
Faced with Rize's expectant gaze, Alfonso scratched the back of his head and replied.
"Well, don't get *your hopes* up too much, okay?" he said, with a chuckle at the label 'battle maniac.'
