They could kill Belta but might also risk their own life.
Belta noticed the tail held the arm, not the neck, so they knew they couldn't deal a lethal blow right away.
But, like when Belta took down the fierce tiger earlier, they could still make that arm useless.
Even if they got hurt in the counterattack, Alfonso was nearby.
Belta didn't need the tail weapon to keep up with a wounded Reincarnator.
Belta, too, weighed their life against their mission.
And it was Belta who made the first move.
He twisted the handle and activated the tail's tightening mechanism.

Even with death on the line, he pulled the tail tighter.
This difference in resolve would decide their fates──light or dark.
The whip-like tail squeezed the arm like a steel clamp.
The fragile bones cracked in sharp pain, forcing the Reincarnator to make a choice.
