Volume 5 Chapter 46 ACT.176 Burning into the Stars (I)
"──"
She noticed.
Since when?
And why did she come here?
Could it be, she was lured here?
In a flash, that thought crossed Rize's mind.
What should she do?
Should she run away, or should she face it head-on?
In that case, she would have to deal with Aisha without any plan, but can she do that?
The buzzing anxiety made her hands sweat, clenching into fists.
"(At least, if I had a spear!)"
She replayed the scene of the mock battle in her mind from earlier.
The girls that Aisha had easily crushed were seasoned gladiators who had survived many matches.
In fact, Rize felt that their skill was not much different from that of the Holy Knights at the Holy Church headquarters.
So, Aisha is strong.
Much stronger than an average Holy Knight.
And probably, stronger than her.
If it was some other Purge Knight here, it would be a different story.
If it was Rai, or if it was Belta.
But──.
"(I'm, different)"
Rize gritted her teeth, knowing she was not like her respected seniors.
She felt that being able to become a Purge Knight was just out of pity.
After making a big mistake on her first mission, being allowed to stay in the ranks was surely out of kindness.
And it was not kindness directed at her, but at Rai.
Rize had not seen much of Rai's interactions with the Saint, but she sensed that Saint Stella paid special attention to that senior.
So surely, whatever happened to her, the Saint and anyone else would think it was "obvious."
Probably, anyone except Rai.
After thinking that far, Rize slowly pushed the door open.
If she ran away now, no one would blame her.
Maybe it's best to just run back and report to Belta and Alfonso quickly.
But surely, the Purge Knight──Rai Conwell wouldn't do such a thing.
That thought pushed her forward.
She had a strong admiration for the Purge Knight who quelled the "Aldra Rebellion," which she indirectly experienced in her childhood.
Driven by that admiration, she kept running towards that distant star.
And now, she had seen the way of the Purge Knight she longed for on the back of her younger senior, Rai.
Catching up to him had become her goal.
That's why she wanted to be someone he could be proud of.
Betraying herself, disappointing herself──that could still be forgiven.
But because of that,
──her admiration, she would never betray.
"I underestimated you, Ms. Aisha."
With determination in her heart and a gaze filled with the will of steel,
Purge Knight (Rize Howell) challenged her enemy.
