'Benjamin, you are a demon...'
"Cain, did you say something?"
Benjamin's cold smile lingers as he watches.
"N-No, I didn't say anything. So, what do I do next?"
Cain hurriedly tries to cover up.
'Can Benjamin even read my mind?'
Beads of unpleasant sweat run down his whole body as he waits for the next instruction.
"Once the 'Mana' is gone, it should be fine. Just loosen your grip a little and make a circle to try the 'circulation'."
Benjamin demonstrates the method.
It felt like a faint transparent something was leaving his right hand and entering his left between Benjamin's hands.
Cain also tries to mimic, and while there's a little resistance when the 'Mana' cluster goes in and out, he manages to 'circulate' it.
"Yeah, yeah, looking good. Keep that 'circulation' going then."
Benjamin gazes intently at Cain as he gives the instruction.
Two hours pass, continuing without a break.
As a result, he can now draw in and push out 'Mana' from anywhere on his palms.
"Alright, that's enough for today. Let's continue tomorrow,"
Benjamin begins tidying up the book he was reading while watching the training.
"I can still do more! Elder Brother Ben, please let me keep going!"
There's about 3 hours before dinner.
"Resting is also part of training. Plus, 'maintenance' is dangerous if you only practice outside at the start. So tomorrow, we'll go outside the wall all day to train."
"Elder Brother Ben, what? What did you just say?"
"'Resting' is part of training?"
"And then!"
"Oh, Cain, you've never been outside the wall yet, huh? Tomorrow, we train outside the wall."
"Yay! Yay!"
Cain fist-pumps repeatedly.

The next day, Benjamin, Cain, and 2 guards are outside the city wall.
They're not even 500 meters from the gate.
That alone makes it Cain's first time and he's super hyped.
"Well, is this about good? Nothing's in front... looks like no one's around."
Benjamin focuses forward and murmurs.
"Cain, we're starting 'maintenance' training now. This is really dangerous at first, so you need to be super careful. Don't lose focus for even a second. If you feel your concentration slipping, raise both hands diagonally up front."
Benjamin said this with the most serious expression he's had since the training began.
"Yes. I understand."
'Looks like I really need to take this seriously.'
"First, start with 'circulation' and gather enough 'Mana' before moving on to 'release'."
Cain did as told, going through 'circulation' and focusing harder than usual to gather 'Mana', then moving to 'release'.
He had gathered quite a bit of 'Mana', and now the shape of it was more visible as it moved from hand to hand.
"Good job. Stop it between your hands and shape it into a sphere. Focus."
After a few rounds of 'release' while in 'circulation', Cain imagined stopping it between his hands.
A clump of 'Mana' paused between his palms, gathering more 'Mana' that continued to be released.
At the same time, he felt 'Mana' continuing to flow out of his body.
'Whoa, this feels intense.'
More and more 'Mana' kept leaking out.
"Ah!"
Cain's focus broke as the flow of 'Mana' grew stronger.
"Bang!" The clump of 'Mana' that was in between his hands dropped about 2 meters ahead.
Just as he thought 'Oh no', the clump of 'Mana' burst.
"Boom!" A dull sound erupted as the ground exploded, sending rocks and sand flying.
Small stones hit his forehead and cheek, cutting into his skin and blood flowed.
Then, with the impact, Cain lost his balance and fell backward.
"Seriously, I told you to raise your hands diagonally up front when you lose focus."
There stood Benjamin, covered in sand like a demon.
