Volume 5 Chapter 10 The Villainous Guildmaster, Moving
I was at the Guild Hall all alone early in the morning.
The Guild, Gem of Heavenly Gift.
A gathering of exiles that I created.
I pick up the raw stones that were unjustly cast out, polish them, and unleash their maximum shine upon the world.
It's all to achieve my goal.
"......"
Just as I was about to stand up, that's when it happened.
Knock, knock.
"MASTER, good MORNING."
A beautiful woman with silver hair walked in.
Her name is Frederica.
She is my right-hand and maid.
"Thanks for your HARD work so early in the MORNING."
"Hmph... what do you WANT?"
"I had a feeling you were heading into enemy TERRITORY again."
Frederica smiled.
I could see the trust she had in me.
...Well, being too close for too long has its drawbacks.
"So it's not to Sir LAWRENCE and the others, then?"
"Yeah. They should HANDLE things just FINE over there."
"That means you saw VICTORY reflected in those golden eyes of yours."
My eyes, the Eye of the Time King.
A magical gaze that sees from the past into the future.
I can see a little bit into the future.
Indeed, I saw the future just as Frederica said.
But the future is never just one path.
Glorious victory and the misery of the defeated could both be futures that happen.
"And you also saw a FUTURE threatening Sir LAWRENCE, correct?"
"Yeah. I saw the future where meddlesome intruders appear. I need to ELIMINATE them before they cause more TROUBLE."
I tried to leave the room.
Frederica knelt before me.
"My MASTER. Please take me WITH you."
...Where I'm going now is Amou... in other words, to her original master.
The one I need to defeat is the man behind this incident.
And that means I'll have to kill the master.
"No. STAY here and WAIT for my RETURN, you worthless DOG."
I tried to pass by Frederica.
But then, squish, something hugged me from behind.
"...MASTER."
Frederica was holding me back.
That voice was soaked with tears.
"...WHY, why do you always LEAVE me behind? Why do you always have to CARRY everything by YOURSELF?"
I turned around.
Her violet eyes were glistening with tears, ready to spill over at any moment.
"We finally became a PAIR who truly CARE for each other..."
But we weren't technically in love.
I just promised I would grant her wishes whenever she wanted.
"Let me ACCOMPANY you, PLEASE. Or am I not ENOUGH?"
It's not like she was lacking in ability.
But when I learned her enemy was Amou, the creator...
I felt like she wouldn't be able to act properly.
"Ah, what a BURDEN."
Frederica looked down.
I wrapped my arms around her from the front instead.
"But don't get the WRONG idea."
"Ah..."
I squeezed her slim waist tightly.
"This is only for the CURRENT operation. I'll give you a DIFFERENT mission. There, you can do as you PLEASE."
I broke the hug and said.
"STAY here for me, FREDERICA."
She pouted, looking displeased.
"...That's UNFAIR. If you say THAT, I can't help but COMPLY."
I pulled away from her.
I felt no intention of following me from her.
I took out a scroll from my pocket and handed it to Frederica.
"Here's an OUTLINE of the plan... It's the FINAL battle, the one to fulfill our IDEAL."
Suddenly, dog ears popped up on Frederica's head, and a tail sprouted from her backside.
They wagged joyfully...
"Understood, my LORD. May LUCK be on your SIDE."
I fluttered my black coat and headed towards the battlefield.
Just like the hero who went with his friends to the Demon King's castle.
But I was heading alone to the abyss.
To the man I once met.
To kill Amou.
