Volume 5 Chapter 16 The Power of Transcendence
I stand on the moon's surface, facing off against the Transcendent Amou.
As long as he's around, a complete victory will be tough.
"You've noticed, haven't you? That I'm the source of the Demon King's magic power."
From Amou's body, several magic power pathways stretch out.
I could see the magic flowing towards that blue star with my own eyes.
"Indeed. I'll bury you, then tear apart the magic pathways, and the Hero will defeat the Demon King. That's the plan."
"Do the Heroes on the ground know about that?"
"It's none of your concern."
I gather magic in my eyes.
Unique Time Acceleration.
It's one of the abilities of my magic eye.
By speeding up my own time, I enhance my physical abilities.
In an instant, I close in on Amou and punch him in the cheek.
Wham!
With that sound, Amou goes flying.
"Nice punch!"
Behind me, the demon Vivre lets out a cheer.
But... it's not over yet.
I accelerate even more, heading towards Amou.
I rain down a flurry of punches on him.
I show no mercy.
He may look like a child or a woman...
But in reality, he's an enemy who torments the humans on the ground without a hint of emotion.
I mount him and let loose a barrage of punches.
My accelerated fists shatter his facial bones...
But...
Plop!
"Hey, not bad, Act."
Amou, who should have been pinned down, disappears from in front of me.
Behind me, there he is, unscathed.
"Wh, what's going on!? Just now... Mr. Act definitely attacked...!?"
"Let's have a good show, VivViv."
Amou chuckles.
He seemed so relaxed.
It's like he doesn't think of me as any kind of marvel.
I press my left eye.
"I won't hold back."
"Oh! You're really going to use it, your ultimate technique?"
Eye of the Time King.
This technique has 2 stages.
My eye glows red... I cast a curse on my opponent.
"[Unique Time Complete Stop (Evil Eye)]"
I completely stop my opponent's time... in other words, it's a technique for instant death.
The red glow strikes Amou directly, and he lets out a sigh... collapsing to the ground.
"Y-yes! Mr. Act's ultimate move hit! Now with this...!"
"But that's not how it is, huh?"
*Snap!*
With that sound, Amou comes back to life again.
"Yeah, nice skill. The activation time is a lot shorter now. Looks like you really intend to kill me..."
Amou smiles with a relaxed grin.
There is... yes, no malice at all.
Like a child, he innocently laughs and says it with his own mouth.
"But you can't kill me with just that level."
...It's not arrogance; it's just checking the facts.
It tells me the assumption that he can't be killed by simple instant-death magic...
So kindly, too.
"No way... even Mr. Act's ultimate move can't win against you? This is impossible..."
Vivre's expression sinks into despair.
Indeed... maybe it could be.
But....
"You've gotten better, Act."
He smiles down at me.
It's the same look he had when I first met him in the abyss.

I touch my right eye and say that.
My left eye got crushed from using the secret art.
The unique time stop can only be used one more time.
Moreover, it seems even that won't work on him.
But I won't give up.
"I'm not the same me from back then. I have comrades who share the same ambitions... I carry the hopes of those guys on that star..."
I glare at the enemy in front of me.
"You are a hindrance to the path we must take."
"Haha! Nice. But if you want me to stop the genocide of humanity... come at me with a lot more intent to kill."
