Volume 5 Chapter 3 The Hero Party, Coming to Play III
In my room, Lawrence and the Eastern Hero Party are gathered.
"We defeated ALL the Four Heavenly Kings! Now, we head to EXTERMINATE the Demon King!"
The big man, Lawrence, says powerfully.
Demon King.
The king of evil beings.
He is deep in the land of the Demon King.
The Demon King is guarded by four barriers.
Each barrier is based on a device held by the Four Heavenly Kings, and Lawrence and the others were not able to attack.
But, they defeated the last of the Four Heavenly Kings the other day.
The barriers are lifted, and now they can invade the Demon King's castle.
"I see. You've worked hard."
"Hey, GUILDMASTER! While you were just chilling, we were fighting REALLY hard, you know?"
The spear user, Silver Hair Ulgar, says with a sigh.
"You should say something more ENCOURAGING, don't you think?"
Hearing that, Luna says with a wry smile.
"To sum it up, you worked hard, so you want more PRAISE, right?"
"N-no! Th-th-that's not it, GUYYYS!"
"BULLS-EYE!" "Mr. Ulgar is CUTE!"
The bow user, Mida, sighs, and the magician Eli smiles as he says.
"Hmph. You fool. The MAIN Demon King is still left, you know?"
I look around at Ulgar and Lawrence and the others.
"Before I even beat the Demon King, you want me to PRAISE you? Ask for rewards after I finish my mission properly."
"Guh, gn-gnn..."
Ulgar grinds his teeth, looking frustrated.
Then, just at that moment...
Knock knock...
"Excuse me."
"Katrina, huh?"
Katrina, the head receptionist, comes over to us.
"I just need to confirm today's BANQUET reservation..."
"Eh, BANQUET...?"
Oh, geez.
Katrina, seriously.
She'll get a scolding later.
"What's this BANQUET about?"
Higami and the heroes from Far East tilt their heads, confused.
But Lawrence's group nods with understanding.
"Ah, I see..."
"W-what does that MEAN──ssu?"
Luna explains to the confused former demon Vivre.
"Basically, the Guildmaster KNEW. They said they would defeat the Four Heavenly Kings and come REPORT today."
"To THANK us! They prepared the PARTY for us!"
"As EXPECTED of the Guildmaster! Very THOROUGH!"
Lawrence and Eli nod with a smile.
"Look, Ulgar. Isn't it GOOD? The Guildmaster is SUPPORTING us."
Mida grins and pats Ulgar's back.
"Y-yeah... I'm not HAPPY or anything, I SWEAR!"
Ulgar keeps glancing this way, blushing.
"Well, considering our GREAT deeds! It's NATURAL to have a fancy banquet or TWO! We should ENJOY it──our RIGHT!"
"You're not very HONEST, huh~"
Lawrence and the others tease Ulgar.
"So carefree, really."
Higami says, exasperated.
"Well, maybe that's why they're STRONG. They say fools catch on FAST."
"It seems you all have become pretty strong too."
Defeating all Four Heavenly Kings was thanks to Lawrence and his group, plus support from the Eastern Hero team.
"Cleaning up the weaklings and helping the local residents. Your contributions are big."
"W-what? NOOO... I'm so SHY when you say that!"
Higami fidgets, her face turning red as she looks down.
"Lady Higami, you are not HONEST at all."
"SHUT up!"
There's no dark shadow over the Hero and his friends.
Their faces are bright, and their motivation is high.
Hmph... it seems they're okay.
"Mr. ACT!"
Lawrence stands in front of me, bowing his head like he represents everyone.
"We made it this FAR because of Mr. ACT! THANK you!"
"Hmph. Don't get the WRONG idea."
"HERE it comes!"
The party members look at me excitedly like little kids.
"It's the TSUNDERE Guildmaster!"
"You're probably just going to say something WEIRD like, 'You all are just PAWNS,' right?"
"You're not HONEST at all, Guildmaster."
Vivre says with wide eyes.
"Looks like everyone in Lawrence's party is USED to dealing with the Guildmaster-ssu."
"Well, if we've been together this LONG, we should KNOW."
Higami shakes her head in exasperation.
"Hmph. Well, okay. Today, let's just RELAX and prepare for TOMORROW'S battle."
"Mr. Act will join the FEAST too!"
"Hmph. Of COURSE. Mr. Act the one PAYING, right?"
"YAY! Mr. Act is DRINKING with us!"
"You guys are such KIDS...""SERIOUSLY-ssu."
So, Lawrence and the others ended up joining the pre-battle feast.
