Volume 3 Chapter 22 Luster Report VS Terra Disas II
Luster Report and Terra Disas clashed.
At first, they traded long-range attacks.
But as the gap closed, everyone stopped caring about distance.
Power mattered more.
The fight only got fiercer.
When Rangella slashed with her sword, scales tore open.
Ulrika's spells scorched Terra Disas's body.
Cindy swung her staff so sharp that Terra Disas's attacks just bounced off.
Tiaris's twin pistols, Ellie's sniper rounds──both punched through its flesh.
And every time Ramella's hammer hit, the impact roared.
They weren't just fighting.
They were hurting it.
Every blow landed.
And then──
"W-What are they...? Just what are those people...?"
Watching from afar, Robert's face went pale as a corpse.
He'd read the records locked away by the Order of the Sealed Dragon.
He knew all about Calamityshade Dragon, Terra Disas.
Just by being here, it brought disaster.
Its power felt like a living catastrophe──unstoppable.
Against something like that, bringing every ounce of force you have isn't just smart──it's survival.
Robert's true job, though, was sealing it away.
He needed to keep his cool, hold his position, and only break out the sealing spell at the right moment.
Whether he wanted to admit it or not, Robert was the weak one whenever dragons were involved.
The sealing magic he could use wasn't even all that strong.
In other words, they had to weaken Terra Disas to a level even he could seal──without killing it by mistake.
But still, marching in with those 5 meant Robert wasn't just some nobody.
He had skills.
Until Terra Disas powered up for real, their side totally had the upper hand.
But the second that monster got serious, his whole squad got wiped out.
Every one of them fought like an S-rank adventurer.
But even all 5 together, it was like ants against a god.
"N-No way. This can't be. That's the power of the hero community? You're telling me regular people can get that strong just because a Golem Master trained them?"
Robert couldn't stand it.
Not just their strength──but the fact that these women all looked up to someone as their 'Master', treating that human like a hero.
Sure, they were strong.
But they were still the ones who'd been shaped, not the ones who did the shaping.
The core of their power, the person who pushed them to grow──Horace.
It was because of his training that they'd become what they were now.
"If they're so powerful, then why... why not just take everything for themselves? Why not grab whatever they want and toss away the rest? That's the whole point of being strong. Why──"
Robert, within the Order of the Sealed Dragon, held the position of a 'manager'.
In simpler terms, he was one of the people in charge──a power-holder.
And he knew the thrill of using that power, bending things to his will, doing whatever he liked.
Which only made it harder to understand.
To him, it was obvious──the strong are supposed to take everything.
That was just how it worked.
That wasn't just Robert's worldview.
For him, it was as natural as breathing.
In fact, unless a power-holder could seize what they wanted, there was no real point in having power at all.
That was his logic.
And up until now, nothing had ever challenged it.
But now, everything was different.
This was a true power.
Luster Report──she was a real powerhouse.
So why wasn't she conquering?
Why wasn't she taking everything for herself?
"I don't get it. Why, why──"
Robert let out a dumb, empty groan.
He just couldn't wrap his head around it.
But if he had to put the truth into words──
The world was something men like him craved enough to fight over.
But for her and her friends, maybe it just wasn't worth that much.
Simple as that.

"Tch, doesn't matter how much I hit it, the thing heals right up."
"We barely make a dent. This is way tougher than I thought~"
"Ugh! No matter how hard I try, I can't break through on this side either!"
Rangella, Ulrika, Ramella speak respectively.
People treated Rangella's team like untouchable monsters.
But honestly, deep down, all they felt was──it was a pain in the butt.
An enemy with this kind of 'endurance', being able to recover wounds and all that...
It was way more annoying to fight than expected.
"No other way. We'll just smash it all at once."
Rangella lifted her sword high.
Then, 8 'gates' popped into existence at her side, each door shattering apart.
A massive cold air blasted out from each gate, all of it drawn into her sword.
The swirling cold grew, shaping itself into a giant blade.
"Frostlit Ritual Blade: Ultimate Technique: Eight Kings Prime Decree!"
The blade swung down.
Terra Disas breathed out a breath, but it was easily cut through, slicing the body apart.
"...Oh?"
The strike was unmistakable.
Yet, the wound healed instantly.
"I see, seems there's quite a mix of 'madness magic' in it, but it's not as damaging as I thought."
"It cut down Zeth Halcon's time and undid Pastor's dragon transformation, but this one's not budging!"
"What do we do!?"
Ramella, and Cindy looked at Rangella in a panic.
At that moment, Rangella's face... bore a very confident smile.
"Ah~..."
Ulrika noticed the atmosphere.
Suddenly.
Eight gates appeared once more, and their doors shattered.
What emerged was not immense coldness.
From each gate came the blades of the 'Eight Kings Prime Decree.'
"Retreat everyone~~~~~~~~~!"
Ulrika shouted.
Amidst them, Rangella declared.
"Frostlit Ritual Blade"
She raised her sword.
The blades that emerged from the gates also floated in the air, asserting their presence.
"'Super Ultimate Technique: First Decree: March of the Triumphant Eight Kings'."
Rangella prepared herself.
By then, the other members had all moved away from Terra Disas.
"Here I come."
She lunged.
She swung the sword down... and 8 massive blades plunged into Terra Disas's body.
"Groaarrrrr!"
"Shiii!"
She pulled back the sword, ready to thrust.
The next moment, the 8 massive blades pierced through Terra Disas's body.
"Heh heh, with an opponent this big, this technique really works."
Rangella wore a fierce smile.
"...Ah. This is already, beyond saving~"
"Usually I keep this stored deep down and don't use it, even if it's out in the open, but it really is incredible combat power, Ulrika."
Rangella was unbelievably strong.
The other members' only reaction was sheer disbelief.
At this point, she couldn't be stopped.
Once Rangella got like this, there was no way for them to hold her back.
"Come on, let's go. I'm not done having fun. Opponents like this don't show up often. Heh."
Rangella showed her teeth in a wild, dangerous grin.
It was hard to tell what Terra Disas was thinking as she watched, but judging by the way she collected mana in her mouth, she was gearing up another breath attack.
But all it took was a small swing from Rangella's sword.
One slice, and the blade tore open Terra Disas's mouth.
The breath's energy exploded, out of control.
"Well then, shall we move on?"
* * *
The rampage didn't last long.
Even if they could heal fast, there were still limits.
No matter how tough they were, it wasn't like someone stronger couldn't come along and stomp them flat.
Not quite that invincible.
That's all there was to it.
"...the sky won't clear up."
With piles of gold coins and ingots stacked in front of her, Rangella muttered under her breath.
"What is this supposed to mean?"
At this, Ramella, Cindy, Ellie, and Ulrika replied.
"No clue. But... it probably has something to do with why Master left for somewhere else."
"I'm totally lost! Guess all we can do is wait!"
"Agreed."
"That's right~. Plus, there's not even a whiff of Master's presence nearby, so they must be really far away~. Can't make a move on this Ulrika and the rest~."
In the end, waiting was all they could do.
Still... deep down, a feeling of dread wouldn't go away.
