Volume 4 Chapter 2 Sevenstar Academy

Volume 4 Chapter 2 Sevenstar Academy

Nousa was already a big hit on the second day of her visit to the Hero's Mansion.

To be fair, she was 14, with a cute face, great body, and smooth legs. It was no surprise some perverts got excited just seeing her.

Plus, after the Demon Lord's defeat, she spent a lot of time with her companions. The world outside the group was untrustworthy, so they comforted each other within the team.

Many of the members had lost their homes or their families, their countries destroyed.

So, it made sense that there was a lot of "close contact" between the women... and surprisingly, Nousa fit right in.

Still, given the vibe that Horace and Nousa gave off──one that didn't exactly scream "ideal for raising children"──it made sense that Nousa adapted so quickly.

From how she looked, with healthy skin and hair, there was no sign of poverty. It was clear she came from strong roots──Horace, who was skilled with a sword, had been taught by his father, and his mother had knocked him around with a wooden sword. Strength ran in the family.

And in this world, killing monsters means getting gold. Even after the defeat of the God of Provisions, Arzent, the system didn't change. What had changed was that now, when monsters were slain, their power didn't transfer to Arzent. But the gold still came.

That means strength directly leads to wealth.

The Diamante Kingdom might mess with its currency in the next ten or 20 years, but for now, she wasn't exactly broke.

Despite all that, it was still strange for Nousa to "adapt" so quickly on her first day in the mansion.

 "Suuuuuuuuuuuuuuhhhhaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah!"

"Can't we do something about this?"

 No, we can't.

...She's adapting, but there are still things she doesn't get.

It's hard for a loli to understand a lolicon. "Preferences" like these are something you get once you're an adult... probably. Who knows.

* * *

"Master. We've been offered a trial enrollment at Sevenstar Academy. What do you think?"

 "Trial enrollment?"

In the lobby of the hero's mansion, there are Horace, Rangella, and Nousa.

While Horace was reading the newspaper, Rangella spoke to him.

 "School, huh..."

 "Nou-Nou, have you ever been?"

"Nuh-uh. I don't have a hometown school... Well, I don't belong to any country at all."

 "Where exactly is that?"

Rangella didn't know how to respond to Nousa's answer.

By the way, since Nousa said that, it also means Horace is in the same boat.

"Anyway, so, what do we do?"

 "Who's actually being called in?"

"It's 6 executives and the master. From the school's side, maybe it'll give the students a good boost. Also, since none of us have ever been to the school, probably just a couple of months. They say it's good to feel that kind of atmosphere."

"Well, I don't see a reason to refuse outright... I'm 27, you know."

"They want Master to act as a teacher."

 "Oh, I see."

Horace looks like he's in his late teens, but he's actually 27.

Of course, if he's really talented, being a teacher isn't a problem. He's trained someone to defeat the Demon Lord ── his ability to teach must be pretty solid.

He just looks young, so he could probably be a student, but since he's feeling weird about it, he might as well be the teacher.

"I also got the offer for a trial run at the school."

 "You, too, Nousa?"

"It sounds interesting, so I think I'll give it a shot!"

For some reason, Nousa seems ready to accept that offer too.

"Hey, big brother, you should try teaching too!"

 "Teach? Hmm..."

"I want to see you working, you know! Both you and dad and mom are jobless, so..."

Something hit Horace in the heart...

Yes, Horace used to work at the royal castle of Diamante Kingdom. So, in that sense, he isn't much of a NEET.

If he's done enough quests and earned coins from dungeons as an adventurer, he wouldn't be called 'unemployed.'

But right now, he's not in that position.

He quit the Adventurers to work for the Diamante Kingdom, but after getting fired there, he's just "some guy who tinkers with golems as a hobby."

"...So... I'm... 27 and unemployed, huh."

It's not too late in life, but hearing it out loud stings.

In his case, it's about that teaching experience. He's definitely leaning toward taking the offer.
