Volume 4 Chapter 20 Gaspar's Abduction!

 "They've taken Gaspar away."

"Father. He's been shouting the whole time, but I wonder what they plan to do with him..."

Gaspar Redless, was taken to the world conference.

Of course, he resisted, but since Gaspar has no combat skill or charisma, there's only so much they can suppress.

Even if he does as he pleases, if he's still in his own country, he can pretend and cover up some things, but bringing bombs into other countries means nobody can protect him.

 "...sigh"

 "It's tough. Guilhem too."

"Well, uh... the Magic Dukedom, you see, really cares about the 3 noble houses, so no other house will ever truly take their place."

 "Hmm"

Guilhem suddenly started explaining, but Horace listened, thinking it was important background info.

"So, probably, Father can't come back anymore, and I'll have to become the head of the family."

"Huh? Guilhem, you're the second son, right? What about the eldest?"

"Most likely, it was my older brother who made the bomb, so he'll be taken away as an accomplice in terrorism."

"Your older brother made the bomb? ...Well, I did wonder where they were placing bombs, but still..."

In a world where logistics mainly use carriages, you need a good reason to choose what you carry.

No matter how advanced the carriage, it can't carry everything.

Originally, Gaspar's plan was probably to join to get the Luster Report and Horace.

But logically, it's impossible for threats of force to work on the Luster Report, which defeated the Demon Lord, or on Horace, who trained those girls.

Bombs only work as a threat against 'ordinary' people, and using them on hardened people used to dangerous zones or monsters has no point.

Basically, the bombs shouldn't have been there to start with.

Horace wondered where they came from, and it seems they were made by Guilhem's older brother, the heir of the Redless family.

"My brother has been researching tools since he was a kid, making parts that look like everyday items and then combining them into weapons later on."

"Sure, his skills would be great if they were used against the Demon Lord's army, but am I the only one who finds it suspicious to wonder who he's planning to use them on?"

For the past 15 years, the Demon Lord has appeared, causing many countries to be destroyed.

If we're up against the Demon Lord's army, that makes sense, but...

 "Just so you know,"

 "Hm?"

"In our father's room, the self-proclaimed strategic genius, there are no maps or pieces on display. Only after my brother enters the strategy department's room do maps appear on the table, and they're only of 'countries unaffected by the Demon Lord.'"

"Pretty obvious with the maps, huh? What about your room?"

"The pleasure district of our own country."

"The guys back at the estate say they want to learn from you... seems like they're trying to imitate you, huh?"

The Luster Report members have become stronger, and with that, their libidos have intensified as well.

But, even though Horace doesn't break down in terms of energy, his basic libido is still at the level of an average man, so he can't keep up.

When asked what kind of maps he has, Guilhem answers with the 'pleasure district of our own country,' which makes one wonder if that's okay, and it feels like someone's going to tease him with a 'Look and learn, will ya?'

Sometimes he wonders where they went wrong in raising him, but well, it's mostly because Horace misjudged his libido.

"So, your brother is also in this town and has been taken along with you..."

"My brother is quite the misanthrope and doesn't show himself much, but I can generally tell where he is."

 "Ah, right..."

"So, as a result, I'm going to become the head..."

 "Can you handle paperwork?"

 "I've been doing it all."

"Excellent! Wait, you were studying abroad before, right? How did you manage the paperwork from there?"

"I made a flowchart to decide what to write in the documents."

 "You're a genius!"

His practical abilities are too high!

...Saying that about Horace sounds boastful, but compared to ten years in the royal capital, no one can keep up with the conversation.

"Hey, if you've got that much ability, why do you seem to have such a strong sense of inferiority?"

"Practical ability. That's why I'm not valued."

 "..."

To put it simply, there's no hesitation when it comes to dealing with the problem at hand.

"My brother's research is quite advanced and has achievements, that's why he was valued. Compared to that, I'm just pushing papers..."

"Relax. I understand the importance of paperwork too. Hmm... it is a national trait."

 It's quite... mysterious.

"By the way, can you continue your studies abroad?"

"It's fine. Father and my brother aren't involved in paperwork either."

 "..."

In essence, isn't he deciding the policies for a third of the magic Dukedom's territory all by himself?

That was the kind of thought Horace had.

 It's seriously a mystery.
