Volume 7 Chapter 18-2 Since It's More Or Less Progressing Simultaneously, The Election... Well, It Can Be Postponed
"Well, this election is getting chaotic too."
"Yes."
The two gaze sincerely at the notice board, where scenes of Dario and Edgar arguing intensely are reflected in their view.
"Well, let them do what they want. It doesn't concern us anyway."
Saying this, Randy took a pen from his bag. From the conversation, he'd come up with his student council guidelines. Normally, it would be better to consult the 'smart group' like Liz, Ellie, or ideally Julius.
But sometimes, feeling and momentum are more important. So, he firmly added words to his blank student council guideline.
'Everyone get along, and have fun.'
"Isn't that for kids?"
"But that's so you, Randy."
"Right? It's fine. We're still just kids after all."
Though it resembles a fundamental educational goal, finally having a guideline is also Randy's true intention.
"Alright, let's go."
Randy walks ahead, followed by Liz and Ellie. After they leave, the onlookers who returned to the notice board saw three names and their respective guidelines lined up.
'Maintain an orderly academy and pride in tradition.'
'Everyone get along, and have fun.'
'Now is the time to reclaim our true pride.'
Only the middle one stands out as unusual. Yet, for them—spending time happily and friendly at the academy is normal, not even worth calling a guideline. Though everyone tilts their heads at its out-of-place appearance, with different fonts and remarkably forceful characters, a faint interest flickers in their eyes.

"Hey, I saw your guidelines (class goal)."
Luke, smirking, pats Randy on the shoulder. "Ah, that. Nostalgic, huh? Around second year?"
"What's that supposed to mean? I'll knock you out."
Randy furrows his brows, but honestly, as a class goal, it does feel appropriate. Primary education in this world, conducted mainly by the Church, is divided into classes called 'Horns' by age, and each strives toward 'guidelines' as their goal.
"Don't get mad. It's fine. Just be yourself."
Luke, sitting next to him, smiles and taps Randy's shoulder again, "Even a fool can understand this."
"Hey... do you want to get punched?"
"Stop it. You'll get expelled if you start a fight."
Luke laughs loudly, but Randy's unnoticed backhand strike approaches Luke's face.
Startled, Luke falls backward. Randy furrows his brow, "Tch, you dodged it," but Luke, overwhelmed, flips over and holds his head, writhing in pain.
Seeing this, Randy's expression shifts from dissatisfaction to concern.
"Hey, hey, are you okay?"
Smirking, Randy awkwardly helps Luke to his feet.
"You, Gorilla Randy. You did it."
Luke, clutching his head and frowning, looks up. Randy exaggeratedly shrugs, "What are you talking about?"
Watching the two, Cecilia lets out a heavy sigh.
"Luke, stop it."
Luke glares, but Cecilia scolds him, "Give up. You started it."
"Heheh. Idiot──"
Randy laughs at Luke being scolded by Cecilia, but...
"Randy. You too, you know."
"That's right. If you're still getting angry over being called childish, you're still a kid."
In Randy's case, double that. The harsh truth pierces through, leaving him unable to argue. Luke lets out a teasing laugh, "Heh."
Randy glares at Luke, but with Liz and Ellie around, all he can say is, "Remember this." The two continue to stare each other down until they finally show some composure. Then, Julius, Livia, Wayne, and Catherine appear, leading the way.
Everyone mentions Randy's guideline, calling it childish or saying they like it. Each time, Randy's face shifts with embarrassment.
"You're loved."
"Yeah. Everyone came all this way to see."
After everyone finishes talking to Randy, Luke speaks up, "So?"
"Does the fact that the guideline is finally decided mean something will move starting today?"
"No."
When Randy shakes his head, everyone involuntarily replies, "Huh?" Their perfectly harmonized reaction surprises even Randy, who responds with a surprised, "Huh?"
"Why are *you* surprised!"
"Well, why are *you* guys surprised?"
Randy's surprised expression makes Catherine hold her head.
"Um, Randy. You finally posted the guidelines this morning, right? It's become a hot topic in the academy."
Wayne sighs, continuing his explanation.
"Everyone's talking about it. What exactly will you do with this guideline?"
Wayne sighs again, "Even though..." and gives Randy a pointed look.
"No way... I've made a promise with the Magic Tool Research Club today."
Randy's eyebrows furrow as he thinks, "Oh, I've gone." Wayne looks surprised.
"A nest of crackpots and tinkers. Wasn't it fun?"
"The best."
Randy nods with a smile, then thinks, "That's right," and takes action.
"If you guys are bored this afternoon, why not join me?"
With Randy's big smile, everyone looks at each other.
