As he watched the two of him engaging in a friendly banter, he noticed Luke adjusting his posture as he caught his gaze.
"Cain, starting tomorrow, you'll be allowed entry to the library. When reading 'The Book of Heroes' and other texts, please make use of the library. Learn the rules of usage from Randolph."
"Please leave it to me, Sir."
Randolph replied.
"Well then, young master Cain. Shall we head to the library?"
Randolph opened the door to the office.
"Please handle today's documents and sign off on them before I return, my lord."
As Randolph expertly guided Cain out of the office, he made sure to throw a warning glance back at Luke.
The two of them arrived at the library entrance.
"First, let's go over the rules of using the library. When you're inside, always leave the door open. This rule was established after an incident where a bookshelf fell during reading. Keeping the door open ensures that either a maid or a butler will check in periodically."
After that, he explained the restrictions on food and drinks, as well as how to use the magical lamp.
Once Randolph left the library, Cain was looking at the 'Book of the Hero' under the magical lamp's light.
Cain flipped open the cover of the 'Book of the Hero,' which was thick like a large dictionary.
Inside, it read in Japanese,.
'As of 2019, what is the tallest transmission tower in Tokyo?'
'2019? That's pretty recent! But wait, since I was there in 2025, that would make it about 6 years ago, right? Whatever. It's 2019, so...'
"Skytree."
The 'Book of the Hero' began to glow faintly, and then the pages started flipping on their own.
The page that turned revealed a message from the hero, written in Japanese.
'Nice to meet you, fellow countryman. I'm Hajime Endo. I arrived in this world from Japan through teleportation summoning in April 2019. The reason for my summoning was that the demon lord was attacking the country with many monsters, and they needed someone to save them. "This is a great find! It looks like I'm going to have a fun new life!"
He still had a lot of "useful things" to go through in the book and was thinking about where to start.
Then, he remembered his initial goal.
"Right! I can just say 'abacus' was also written in this book! It probably isn't really there though... oh well. Only I can read it."
With one problem solved, Cain felt very happy.
"Now, I just need to check if 'abacus' exists in this world."
Without delay, Cain went back to his room to get the "abacus number 8.".
