Volume 2 Chapter 5 Benjamin's Plan III
"So, this [Magic circle magic]... is it really that wild? Is there no limit at all? If not, then Cain could use all the [magic] in the world, right? And make others use it too."
"Of course, there are limits. You can only [magic circle] up to -1 level with [Magic circle magic], and it takes 10 times the [Mana] to activate. It's hard to level up, so I think it'll take a ton of time and study to get to what Elder Brother Ben is thinking."
"Well, it's Cain, so I'm sure it'll be fine. Just make sure to consult with Father when you're doing something big."
"Yes, I promise."
"You're so honest and happy. But back to the topic, is the [magic] to change [temperature] at level 2 enough, even though we have the level?"
"Level 2, huh? Unfortunately, that's not nearly enough. I thought we could [magic circle] it if we somehow managed to level up to 1. But to level up by 2, that's impossible right now."
Cain let out a wave of despair as he muttered.
"Wait, so is the [Magic circle magic] at level 1? How did you confirm the [magic circle]?"
Benjamin asked, puzzled.
"Oh, since [daily magic] doesn't have a level, I could check it even now. There's definitely no [magic] to change temperature in [daily magic], huh? Ah..."
Cain dropped his shoulders, his dream of a daily hot bath crushed.
"Hey, if [daily magic] is okay, wouldn't [Hot Water] work?"
Benjamin suggested to Cain with a deadpan face.
"Huh, Elder Brother Ben, there's such a [magic] as [Hot Water]? I never thought there'd be a solution like that. Thank you, Lady Gardea."
Cain watched, excited, as if seeing a wonder.
Then, Cain learned how to draw Mana from the [Seal magic] magic stone and neatly [Analyzed] it to save as a [magic circle].
After that, Cain just needed to learn [Hot Water] at the church, and he hugged Benjamin in joy.
As he started to talk about the sewers, Luke and Arthur entered the conference room.
"Father, Elder Brother Arthur, what's the matter?"
Cain asked the two who had entered the conference room.
"What of you two? I thought you might have gone hunting with Chris. It's better to think that there's not much result without Benjamin"
"Father, Chris is a top-tier fighter even in the academy as a second-year. I believe he can bring back decent monsters."
Arthur was following Chris.
"Is that so? He was struggling with horned rabbits before entering, he's grown. Let's spar during this break."
Luke nodded deeply, and Cain wondered just how strong 'Father' was?
It was because Chris had defeated an orc by himself in the last battle.
"Anyway, did you come to the conference room for some business?"
Benjamin repeated the first question to bring the conversation back to Luke and Arthur.
"Ah, right. I wanted to hear Arthur's opinion on expanding the castle walls. Thanks to Cain, it seems we can repair and expand the walls a bit. I was thinking if there's anything from the capital's wall structure that we can apply to our domain. I was about to discuss it while looking at this model."
"That's perfect. Cain and I were just making a model related to the fortress creation and wall expansion. Can we have your opinion on it?"
Benjamin started a discussion on the functions and roles of the fortress based on the model he made with Cain.
They began to deliberate on the expansion of the walls.
Looking at his father and brothers, Cain felt truly warm with thoughts of his people.
"So... can we try making it once from the fortress using Cain's [Earth magic]?"
"Benjamin, does that mean the fortress and walls can be made with Cain's Earth Magic? Does Earth Magic have that much potential? Or is it just Cain's skill...?"
Luke began to ponder deeply.
"Hey, Benjamin. Is it okay if I chime in? Recent studies suggest that walls are stronger against impacts if they're filled with hollow spaces and packed with sand or gravel, rather than being made entirely of stone. Shouldn't we properly consult experts if we're going to build it anyway?"
Arthur added his suggestion for improvement.
"Alright, let's gather the captains of the knight squads, the wall construction overseers, and the master craftsmen of the town tomorrow for a meeting. The fortress and walls we're about to build are essential for your generation. Let's aim to create something even better."
Luke, having returned to the conversation, summarized his thoughts.
"The key to this plan is Cain, so he should join us. But before that, this model can't be shown to everyone. Could you make a separate model of just the fortress and walls, please?"
Benjamin called out to Cain, who was a bit away.
"Yes, I'd be happy to."
Cain was pleased to be included in the circle.
