Volume 3 Chapter 15 Town Wall Expansion
Cain, Gardy, and Barvish finished their investigation and returned to the mansion.
"Welcome back, Sir Cain."
"Ah, Randolph! You're back, huh? Welcome back. I wonder if Elder Sister Alice was okay? She's unexpectedly quite a lonely one."
Recalling Alice, he asked a question.
"As expected, you are siblings. Lady Alice was worried about Sir Cain. Also, when Sir Cain asked about Lady Alice, we received this response: 'Don't worry about me; you should prioritize yourself and act accordingly.'"
Randolph respectfully delivers Alice's message.
"I can't compare to Elder Sister Alice. I must do my best too."
Cain, while thinking of his sister in the capital city, steels himself with a new resolve.
"Randolph, did you get permission from His Majesty regarding the wall expansion?"
"Yes, the details will be explained in the meeting before dinner. Can you change your clothes before the meeting?"
"Yeah, I'll change since I got a bit wet."
"Understood. Barvish, have the maid meet us 10 minutes before the meeting, and attend with Sir Cain."
Barvish responded tersely with "Hah" to Randolph's instructions.

"Everyone seems to be here, so I will start."
Randolph looked around at everyone gathered in the conference room and began to speak. The conference room was also attended by Luke, Lydia, and members of the Maintenance Bureau. Of course, Noel was there as well.
"First, about the road to the capital, it was without major obstacles and went as planned. We encountered monsters three times along the way, but Lala and I repelled them. Additionally, Lady Alice experienced a goblin battle."
Luke nodded in agreement with "Hm."
After arriving at the royal capital, Lady Alice took the entrance exam for the Knight Academy and successfully passed. Perhaps due to her training with Sir Arthur and others, her practical exam rank was 5th. Her overall ranking, including the written exam, was 10th.
Alice did it.
Lydia was quietly happy about Alice's higher ranking.
(Wow. Elder Sister Alice, amazing! 10th place overall!)
Cain was listening to Randolph's report with a full smile.
After the announcement of the passing results, she celebrated with Sir Arthur and others, then spent time sightseeing in the royal capital until the day of admission.
Voices like "Wow," "They get along well," "Wonderful," could be heard.
(Nice... I also wanted to celebrate Elder Sister Alice's passing.)
Cain, unable to participate as a brother, felt a bit of frustration about Alice's success.
"The next report is about the town wall expansion. Initially, it was only planned to receive the permit, but since the Chancellor requested a visit, I met with him. Since the matter was about Cobblestone, I conveyed the responses as discussed beforehand."
"Was there any problem?"
"No, not especially. It seems there was also a report from Margrave Shield, and he was only asking whether the report contents were true. Apparently, false information about Cobblestone's completion in the royal capital being done in a single day had spread, and the intent was to hear directly from the involved parties whether it was true."
"I see. I need to send a thank-you letter to Margrave Shield later."
Luke muttered with his eyes closed.
"The expansion of the town wall itself was approved without issues. There are no specific conditions, and it seems the expansion can proceed as hoped."
An exclamation of admiration rose from the participants of the Maintenance Bureau.
