Volume 3 Chapter 3 Husband and Wife Day III

As the sun finally began to rise, a child and two adults walked along, pulling a cart.

"Ugh, it's cold. It's still pretty chilly in the morning, huh?"

Cain, with cold fingers, exhaled a white breath and walked toward the cow shed, warming his hands.

"That's right. It's Couple's Day today, but the weather will stay cold for a while."

Gardy, making his large body as small as possible, answered while pulling the cart.

"Sir Cain, is it that cold? This Sanroze territory doesn't snow, so it doesn't feel very cold."

Barvish, in the morning cold that turned his breath white, was only wearing a thin long-sleeve shirt and leather slacks. Compared to Cain and Gardy, who were bundled up in winter clothes, he looked like he might catch a cold.

"Barvish's hometown is very cold, huh? Even in Sanroze territory, it's cold for me. I probably wouldn't be able to go there."

Cain shivered just imagining a place colder than here. As they talked, the cow shed came into view. In front of it, a woman was sweeping the ground.

 "Nana! Good morning!"

"Ah. Good morning, Sir Cain. We've been waiting for you."

"Yeah, thanks for today. Are Hanako and the others doing well? Tony too?"

"Yes, thank you for your concern. Since coming to Sanroze territory, I've been able to relax."

"That's good! If Nana and the others aren't healthy, Hanako and the others will be sad."

While greeting Nana, whom they hadn't seen in a while, Tony ran toward them at full speed.

"Cain, it's been a while. How have you been? I couldn't see you at the mansion, so I was lonely."

"Eh, really? That's great, I'm happy."

They did a special handshake, punching fists a few times, then held hands tightly and smiled.

 "Boom-boom, boom!"

 "Boom!"

From the cow shed, they heard the voices of Hanako and Tonko.

"Oops, I almost forgot. Hanako and the others are angry and want Cain to come quickly. If I delay, they'll leave without me!"

 "I'm faster anyway."

The two started running toward the barn, competing to see who was faster.

* * *

 "Huff, huff, huff..."

 "Cain is fast!?"

"No way. Tony is fast too!"

"Well, I train every day by chasing after Tonko."

"If I say so, I also run after you!"

The two put their hands on their knees, surprised by each other's speed. Interestingly, as Cain and Tony started running, Barvish also began moving. While they panted and gasped for breath, Barvish kept a cool face and watched the surroundings.

"Tony, what will you do if Sir Cain gets injured? I told you to stay quiet so many times."

Nana swung her clenched fist and gently hit Tony's head with a love tap.

 "It hurts, big sister!"

"It's because you didn't follow the instructions! If you don't understand, one more hit!"

 "U-ugh, no, stop, please."

Tony guarded his head with his palms and arms.

(They really get along well, don't they?)

Cain watched the playful pair and remembered Alice in the royal city.

"Well, I think this is enough. Hanako, thank you for the delicious milk as always."

After finishing milking, Cain stood up and gently stroked Hanako's face. Today, he wanted a little more whipped cream, so he received a slightly larger amount of Hanako's milk than usual. Hanako said, "It's okay to have more," but Cain declined, knowing Tonko's share would run out.

Gardy and Barvish loaded a large jar of freshly squeezed milk onto the cart. Usually, only Gardy transports the milk, but today Cain came along because he wanted a bit more and to see Hanako and Tony.

"Sir Cain, thank you for visiting today. Please come anytime."

"That's right, Hanako would get lonely if you didn't come."

Nana smiled, and Tony, a bit embarrassed, waved them off.

"Thank you. I'll bring a gift next time. See you later!"

Cain waved back from the cart's platform as they moved away. To ensure the large jars didn't tip over or collide, Cain rode on the cart, holding them steady.

"Oops, that was close. Three jars might have been a bit too much. Gardy, isn't it heavy?"

From the cart, Cain called out to Gardy, who was pulling it with one arm.

"It's completely fine. With Sir Cain holding them down, I can walk faster than usual."

Despite the cart being twice as heavy as usual, Gardy pulled it effortlessly. Cain thought Gardy's back looked a bit cool.
