The final showdown with Amou.
Wrapped in spirit armor and wielding Frederica's power, I was crushing my enemy.
Amou's time-skip ability didn't affect me at all.
"I see... I've FIGURED OUT how this works!"
Amou smirked.
But it wasn't his usual confident, top-dog grin.
It was the smile of a cornered beast suddenly thinking of a counterattack.
"You're FREEZING the whole world, right? Just in the split second I stop TIME!"
"W-WHAT the hell do you mean by THAT?"
Demon Dragon Vivre, watching from behind, tilted his head at Amou's words.
"His spirit armor must activate AUTOMATICALLY. The moment I try to skip time, it counters by freezing ME and the entire WORLD."
"EXACTLY. No matter how INVINCIBLE your ability is, if you can't ACTIVATE it, you're just a POWERLESS kid."
Frederica's spirit armor.
It has an automatic freezing function.
Though it can be triggered voluntarily too.
Just like Amou explained, the moment he tries to use his ability, I freeze his own time faster than he can.
"Mr. Act, you're RIGHT... freezing the whole WORLD like that is CRAZY..."
"Frederica is a kind of divine beast. It can pull off stuff like that. But... it only works when it's MERGED with a human."
This ultimate move can't be used by Frederica alone.
Why it needs a human as a medium is still a mystery.
But... with this,
'Finally, the CHECKMATE is in sight, Master.'
"YEAH. Now I just have to push him to DEFEAT... But if I mess up even ONCE, it's over. Can you KEEP UP?"
'Of course, Master. ALWAYS by your side.'

Countless ice knives hovered in the air around me.
They're sensors.
They automatically detect his movements and double as weapons.
I grabbed an ice knife and sliced through the air.
Since this body changed, I'm no longer bound by the laws of physics.
Moving faster than any human could perceive, I closed in on Amou and struck with my knife.
He can't move.
He tries to counter, but my auto-freeze activates the moment he does.
'My auto-freeze, to be precise, triggers AUTOMATICALLY when an enemy takes hostile action towards me. You're already... completely HELPLESS!'
Unable to dodge the knife strike, Amou takes a heavy hit.
"GUH...!"
Amou tries to heal himself immediately.
But the auto-freeze triggers again.
'It's FUTILE. Healing is considered a hostile action TOO.'
I keep hacking away at Amou over and over.
The guy's sweating buckets.
Yeah.
He's so overwhelmed, he can't even fight back.
"Amou, I suggest you SURRENDER."
"HAH...! Don't be RIDICULOUS. You never know the outcome until the END! I... I won't GIVE UP!"
