While Act is locked in battle with the mastermind on the moon...
Lawrence and the Hero Party are getting their ASSES handed to them.
"Nnnngghhh!"
Lawrence swings a massive golden GREAT SWORD.
His slash splits the EARTH and blasts the newly-crowned Demon King Dostoevsky into DUST.
But as if time itself rewinds, the Demon King──and even his CASTLE──snap right back to how they were.
The Demon King grins. Suddenly, he lets loose a strike so FAST no one can see it.
Lawrence can't even dodge──something JAMs into his gut with a sickening thud.
It's a TENTACLE. Just one of many.
Demon King Dostoevsky's whole body bristles with tentacles, all WHIPPING like bullwhips.
Every single one is tipped with a RAZOR BLADE and slathered with some vicious poison.
Even with Lawrence's freakishly TOUGH body, just a taste of that TOXIN would end him on the spot.
And yeah, Lawrence actually DIES.
But instantly, he's CURED, REVIVED, and HEALED up as if nothing happened.
Thanks to Luna's freaky otherworldly HEALING MAGIC, Lawrence is yanked back from the BRINK.
Just as Luna goes to revive Lawrence, the Demon King's host lunges at her.
That's when the rapid-fire archer Mida rains down ARROWS, and the spearman Ulgar darts in with QUICK jabs.
To distract the enemy, magician Eli hurls massive, SCORCHING spells with breakneck speed.
Lawrence uses that split-second distraction to steady himself and DIVE back into the FRONT LINES.
"Hah... hah..." "Gasp... WHEEZE..."
Mida and Ulgar have got NOTHING left──they can't even drag themselves forward to fight.
That's just how RUN-DOWN they are.
But that's not all...
The Demon King's ATTACKS are just INSANE──impossibly FAST.
Only Lawrence, with his SUPERHUMAN body and senses, can keep up with this kind of freakshow battle.
Ulgar grits his teeth, hating that he can't get in there.
Even so, he STICKS to his role.
Supporting Lawrence, backing up Luna──he's the THIRD PILLAR.
That's his job.
And he never COMPLAINS, never holds back, doing exactly what the team NEEDS.
"Hang in there, Lawrence...!"
"Nnnuuuuuugh!"
Lawrence's slash takes the Demon King's HEAD clean off.
But nobody CHEERS.
They all know why.
Time starts REWINDING, all over again.
The Demon King stands there like NOTHING happened.
"He's INVINCIBLE... All we do is BURN OUT while they don't even flinch..."
Ulgar and everyone else just about drop their HEADS.
But even so, they LOCK their eyes on the enemy, unblinking.
Even Lawrence, their LEADER, believes──just as they do.
Their Guildmaster will CRUSH this hopeless grind, no matter what.
