Lawrence, the Guildmaster's most trusted subordinate, stood ready.
His blade tore into the Demon King, Dostoevsky.
"No... NO!"
Power drained from his body, piece by piece.
The blade swung, flesh split apart, diminishing...
"NO... NOOOOOOOOOOOOO!"
Dostoevsky's scream echoed.
"ME... HERE OF ALL PLACES! To lose to a MERE HUMAN...!"
Born a Fiend, Dostoevsky had always looked down on humans.
Trash.
Worthless.
Yet here he was, facing destruction at the hands of that very trash... a human.
"DAMN IT... damn it all..."
His form kept shrinking, fading away.
He could barely hold onto his own identity...
But in those final moments, a certain feeling emerged in his heart──
thoughts of a certain someone.
"Act... AGE..."
Act Age──just an ordinary human, talentless and unremarkable.
A mere representation of humanity, granted the Eye of the Time King by Amou's whim.
Yet now, the one who cornered him wasn't Lawrence──it was that very human.
The powerless one.
"So... I WAS WRONG...?"
He'd believed humans were weak, mere rubbish.
But that wasn't the truth.
Even as the strongest existence, enhanced by the Transcendent's ultimate power...
he now faced his end by the hands of the humans he despised.
He had no choice but to acknowledge it.
It was a humbling defeat.
"HUMANS... are so... STRONG..."
Now, he would become nothing but a speck of dust.
Lawrence raised the golden sword high.
"THAT'S RIGHT! Humans are... SO INCREDIBLY STRONG!!!!"
Drawing every last ounce of strength, Lawrence unleashed his ultimate strike.
Dostoevsky didn't resist anymore.
With a clear mind... he accepted that blade, and the reality behind it.
As he was consumed by the golden power...
somewhere deep inside, he felt a strange sense of release...
The Demon King Dostoevsky... has vanished into the shadows.
