Volume 7 Chapter 24 Election? I'll Do My Best Starting Tomorrow
The day after Randy and the others put up the huge poster on the school building, everyone at the academy was talking about it from morning.
The big poster Randy displayed had a big impact, but what everyone was really talking about was how all the members, starting with Randy, looked so lively and energetic.
From the mysterious ritual to the giant lens creation and the video projection, many students watched the whole process. They probably thought Randy and the others were really enjoying themselves.
Of course, the main topic was when Randy was caught by Gardo and Instructor Burk.
The student council president candidate being scolded by his recommenders... it might have been about canceling the recommendation, but since Randy's name was still on the notice board, the excitement only grew.
With everyone looking at him so differently from yesterday, what was Randy himself thinking──then...
"...I will definitely not forgive this."
He frowned visibly in front of the members, especially Catherine and Cecilia, who caused trouble yesterday.
"Because you guys misunderstood things."
Randy, pouting his lips, muttered, "It was a tough situation," which made Cecilia and Catherine misunderstand, even dragging [Dark Tide] into it. Randy had a hard time clearing up that misunderstanding.
After all, if he didn't clear it up, the only result would be that two terrifying people from Braubelg territory would come after him.
"These shabby young ladies."
Liz tried to stop Randy, saying, "Randy," but Cecilia and Catherine couldn't ignore the comment either...
"Who are you calling shabby young ladies!"
"That's right! Take it back!"
With a big scowl and furrowed brows, they glared at Randy as if they were about to leap over the desk. The two looked more intense than usual, but Randy just smirked and said, "It's the truth." Moreover,
"Still, Luke and Leon were great too."
He gave them a sly look and commented on Luke and Leon, who were watching over Cecilia and Catherine with a wry smile. The two, puzzled by the meaning of that smile and words, tilted their heads.
"You guys have proper knowledge, so when the time comes, it'll go smoothly."
Today's worst face of Randy—four people simultaneously blushed and exclaimed, "Wha──" while Liz and Ellie looked up at the sky with disappointed faces, saying, "Ah..." and "Fool," at a loss.
Luke and the others looked at each other, their red faces becoming even redder. In front of these four, Randy's grin didn't stop.
"Oh my, oh my. What exactly did you imagine──?"
With Randy's teasing grin, the red-faced Luke swung his fist and shouted, "You goony Randy!"
"Heh, what a good wind."
Luke dodged Randy's punch and showed a smug expression, then swung his fist again.
Luke kept throwing punches while sitting on a chair, and Randy kept dodging them while also sitting.
As Luke's unusually large fist was about to land, Randy let out a loud laugh, saying, "Futile," and Julius appeared, leading Livia, Wayne, and also Cory and Annabelle, asking, "What exactly are you all doing?"
"You're late."
"A little class ran over."
Julius shrugged, explaining how Edgar's end-of-history class and his explanation of royal legitimacy had caused the delay.
"Well, that's..."
Randy, with a forced smile, genuinely thought it was good that their class schedules were different.
The academy operates on a system similar to regular schools. In the morning, there are mandatory subjects. These subjects are divided randomly by grade, and each group completes their set curriculum... It's like the system in Japanese schools, where classes have different lessons.
By the way, Randy, Liz, and Ellie are in the same class. Cecilia and Catherine are in the same class. Julius, Livia, and Wayne are in the same class.
Of course, Cory, Annabelle, and Leon, who became students this year, are in different classes because they are second-year students, so it's rare for Cory and others to be together.
"Senior Randolph."
"I-I apologize for yesterday."
The two who immediately bowed their heads and apologized when coming towards Randy had joined Julius and the others.
"It's okay. You guys were stopping us, so I was the one at fault for not listening."
Randy, with a smile, offered the chair to Cory and Annabelle, who both gleamed and sat down.
"By the way, he also stopped you,"
Luke muttered, "Ah, idiot," to the sighing Julius, but it was already too late.
"Stopped me, huh? You?"
Randy furrowed his brow and looked up at Julius from below.
"If you're going to stop me, speak louder. I'll punch you."
As Luke expected, Julius's cheek twitched with, "Why..."
"Just because."
"Just because, huh..."
Julius, with his shoulders slumped, sighed deeply and pulled out a chair to sit down.
"So?"
