Volume 7 Chapter 28-2 They Say An Important Person Is Here! But All I Can Say Is Oh, Really?

Even so, Lucius gently advised, "Those guys are abnormal."

But sadly, it didn't get through to Gustav.

"Sure, based on what I heard about the recent battle, you old man might be right... but that's only the evaluation of the Victor Knight Brigade. It has nothing to do with Randolph Victor himself."

That part, Gustav also agreed with. Since Randy hadn't taken part in that battle, he couldn't really say the Victor family's achievements were Randy's.

"That's why I came to check if this recommendation was actually real."

Gustav glanced over his shoulder at the big man behind him, then quickly looked back at Lucius and added,

"Of course, I'll also be reviewing the other candidates besides Randolph Victor."

He was stressing that everyone's recommendation had to be solid. Lucius let out a sigh and shook his head like he couldn't argue anymore.

"Just in case, I'll warn you as your old teacher—'stay away.'"

"I get that normal people can't match him. Still, think about why he was even recommended."

Seeing Gustav's usual smug smile, Lucius sighed once more and said, "Well, I did warn you," then gave him permission to confirm the recommendation list as the administrator.

After getting the green light from the branch school principal, Gustav started walking around the academy, just to make it obvious to the students that the rumors were true...

 "Randy. Are you okay?"

Randy blinked, caught off guard, and replied with a clueless face. "Huh? What do you mean?"

Wayne, who was from a different class in one of the required subjects, had come during the long break—one of those rare breaks that lasts longer than ten minutes. He had rushed over as soon as he could.

Randy was sitting at the very back of the stepped lecture room, chilling with sandwiches spread across the desk like a picnic. Full relaxation mode.

"What do you mean, 'What do you mean'?"

Wayne walked up to him, looking around nervously.

"Where's Miss Elizabeth and the others?"

"They went over to Miss Cecilia and Miss Catherine's place."

"...He's not here yet? Then maybe you haven't heard."

Ignoring Wayne's muttering, Randy opened the sandwich wrapper and his mouth at the same time.

"So, what are we talking about?"

"Right. The administrator came to check if your recommendation was valid or not—wait, stop eating for a sec."

Wayne had started whispering but couldn't stop himself from raising his voice a little at the sandwich.

"It's fine, right? You should eat too."

Randy offered him one. Wayne frowned slightly, then lowered his head a little and accepted it with a mumbled, "...thanks."

"So? What did the administrator say?"

 "They say he's walking around..."

Wayne sat across from Randy, unwrapped his sandwich, and started explaining the situation with the administrator and why he came.

"Oh, so he's just bored, huh?"

Randy said that with a mouthful of sandwich. Wayne pouted.

"'He's bored, huh?'—Not the point. Ah, it's delicious."

"Right? A sandwich during break just hits different."

With a mischievous grin, Randy said, "Oh, by the way—" and pulled out a few photos from his magic bag. The pictures were of Liz, Ellie, the maids, and Clarice all modeling prototype pieces from Renacent's jewelry line, *Renacent Aurum.*

"I was thinking which one would suit Lady Airen."

Wayne stared seriously at the photos, picked one, and said, "...this one, maybe?"

It was a kind of normcore style: white cut-and-sew top, black high-waisted shorts, and an oversized summer knit cardigan layered over it.

That cardigan turned a simple outfit into something that felt soft and easy—effortless.

Randy gave him a look. That "I see you" kind of look.

 "...What's with that face?"

 "No, it's nothing."

 "There's something, right?"

 "There's nothing."

The two of them, looking like they were scrolling gravure magazines during class break, stayed in that silly bubble for a while longer. Eventually, Liz and Ellie returned with Cecilia and the others—but that would happen a bit later.

Until then, Wayne, who had originally come all worried about the administrator, completely forgot his mission. With a sandwich in one hand, he kept choosing clothes for Airen, saying, "Ah, this one's cute too."

Character Notes:

Ellie - Ellis. Succubus from the countryside. Kind but stubborn, with a caring side once close. Trains under Lina as a Magic Swordsman. Fast enough for Advanced-tier speed, though struggles in real fights. Cautious, efficient, and quietly hidden from Kent.

Rena - Oldest member of Astral Valkyrie. A dependable big-sister figure who handles the group’s practical needs with grace. Though she boasted of past romantic experience, she was secretly a virgin—something revealed when Sir Kent made her his in front of everyone. Despite her mature air, Rena’s first-time reaction was as innocent and tearful as any girl’s, leaving a lasting impression on the team.
