Volume 3 Chapter 59 Grandmother's Request VI
Before dinner, everyone met in Cain's room to talk about what to do next. Barvish and Gardy usually work with Cain, so they knew what was going on. But Lala stays at the mansion a lot, so he explained everything to her.
"Sir Cain, calm down a bit. Isn't this what Lady Lydia worried about?"
Lala sighed, rubbed her temple, and mumbled.
"No, Lala... I'm sorry."
(It couldn't be helped.)
He stopped himself from saying more and apologized.
"Lala, it's not all Sir Cain's fault. He was looking for the magic tool for Mrs. Aisha. If anyone should apologize, it's me for not stopping him when I was there."
Barvish watched Cain, who looked down. Gardy added, "Me too," while also looking down.
"I should apologize. Everyone did their best at the time."
Lala stood up and bowed her head.
"Lala, Barvish, Gardy, thank you. I'm happy to have you all with me. Please keep helping me."
Cain thanked everyone. "Yes," they all replied quickly.
They talked about what's most important and decided to stay for 2 more weeks. For Zain's "teleportation magic tool," he'll decide later if he should report it before Zain leaves.
At first, he didn't plan to report it. But if he can't come back, it'll worry everyone. "Reporting is important," they all agreed.
So, he decided:
~~~
1. Pave the roads with cobblestones. It'll go as planned.
2. Build a bathhouse. It'll be done before Zain's magic tool to save time. Cain's part will be done after daily cobblestone work.
3. Teach how to make shortcake. It'll happen on the next holiday. Lala and the head chef will gather ingredients. We just hope the milk for whipped cream arrives in time.
4. Build a bridge. It's the hardest task, so he'll ask Uncle Will to check the site first. If they need something there, it'll save time. Work the day before the next holiday will start earlier. Barvish will handle that.
5. Visit Zain's hometown. He'll go after everything's done and he's back in Sanroze. Not being able to return would stress Grandfather too much.
~~~
Once everything was clear, he felt better. Cain looked happier, and his worry was gone. Barvish and the others noticed and felt relieved too.

Three days after the meeting, a model of the bathhouse, filled with Grandmother's requests, was made. Construction would start based on it.
It'll be twice as big as the one in Sanroze. The women's bath will be 1.5 times bigger than the men's. The changing room will be larger, and there'll be a resting area.
At first, it seemed too expensive, but Cain used [Earth magic] to keep costs down. Everything except the roof and windows was made with magic. Grandfather added money from his pocket, thinking Aisha would be happy. The furniture in the resting area will be nice.
"We're starting to level the ground, so stay outside the lines we drew."
Cain told the people gathered. They stepped back from the line. Cain used magic.
"...[Earth Dig] from [Earth Press] and──[Stone Wall]"
The soil inside the line was dug up, then compressed 50 cm below the original height. A framework rose from the ground, forming the bathhouse's foundation.
Everyone said, "Oh!" Cain was happy to hear their cheers and started the next spell. He didn't need to chant, but he did it for show.
When he cast [Create House], the bathhouse was done except for the roof and windows. Cain said, "Alright!" and proudly looked at the crowd.
The adults had wide eyes and open mouths. Barvish, Gardy, and Lala closed their eyes and shook their heads.
(Huh? Did I go too far?)
Cain froze.
