Hero's Mother After – Chapter 6: Grandpa Bauer
"Serena... it's you again..." I grumbled.
"Yeah, I came to visit Grandpa Bauer! Hello, Nyoro!" Serena chirped cheerfully.
"As energetic as ever, what are you up to..." I trailed off as I glanced around. "But Serena, you like Nyoro, don't you...hey, Nyoro..."
"I never thought such an ugly thing like me could be liked..." Nyoro mumbled.
At first glance, this person looks like a sturdy maid, but until recently we were referred to as a UMA, or an "unidentified mysterious animal," which we used as a source of food.
But then Serena wandered in here and saw me eating her.
Afterwards... he said, "Nyoro is so cute...Grandpa, even though he's so cute," while crying, and we were unable to refuse his request and stopped eating Nyoro.
Then, when Serena's tears touched Nyoro... she quit multiplying... and all the UMAs, or Nyoro, gathered together to form a single life form.
And so, it became Serena's familiar and Nyoro is now learning the art of humanization under my guidance.
However... the fact that Serena thinks such a monster is cute is because he was raised in the Divine Realms... makes me think he has a funny sense of aesthetics... and a strange sense of women.
"Well, that's all well and good, but... is that the kind of woman Serena likes at this age?"
"Yes..." Serena replied softly, her voice tinged with fondness.
Sigh~ He's just like his father, always so difficult...
Maybe it's because everyone in Divine Realm is an old lady, but the woman that Serena wanted for Nyoro looked like she was in her thirties at best.
"You can play as much as you want... but if it's too late, your mommy will get mad at you."
"I know~ Grandpa Bauer... Nyoro, can you put me on your back?" she pleaded, bouncing up and down.
"Yes, Serena-sama," replied Nyoro with a gentle smile, sweeping the little girl off her feet.
Serena rode on Nyoro's head as she grew bigger and entered the underworld.

Serena started calling me "Grandpa" recently, so I started calling her "I (Washi)" too.
As a dragon I've never cared for children, except for Serena.
He seems like a "granddson" to me, if I were human.
However, he always comes around everywhere...
Normally, this space should only be open to those I invite... but Serena comes in on his own.
And there are only a few dragons who can enter uninvited... Besides, I don't understand why Ceres can't enter this space...
Well, it's okay because it relaxes me...

Zect’s POV
"Zect-oniichan," Serena chirped, bouncing into the room. "I came to play~"
"You came again, you little!"
"Yes, I'm here," he muttered, his eyes scanning the room.
This place is a space dedicated to heroes...
This is where people with achievements from their previous lives spend their time...
If they die, their relationship with their family won't matter much.
They will rejuvenate until the age of their prime, so their relationship with their family also becomes tenuous.
I do care about being a parent, but since the world is at peace, my descendants can't make any accomplishments... so, they are not here in this space.
But then, it's really funny.
It's abnormal that a strange creature can enter this paradise-like space, where only heroes with achievements are allowed to enter.
Well, it's cute, so it's fine...
"What do you want to play? Shall I call Lida?" I asked.
"I heard Serena's voice, so I'm already here," Lida replied.
"You see... Zect-oniichan taught me something, and now I can do it a little better... watch it... this is Hero's (Yuusha) secret technique...the light's..." Serena exclaimed excitedly.
"Only Hero (Yuusha) can do that... let me show you something else."
"Wingssss!!!" he shouted.
Seriously...A small bird of light is appearing?
But isn't only Hero (Yuusha) can do that...?
"Wow, Serena, you can do Zect's original move too!" exclaimed Lida.
"Thank you, Lida-oneechan! Hehe, but unlike Zect-oniichan big birds, Serena can only summon one small bird," Serena responded.
"Well, you're just a kid... you'll get it with practice," I encouraged.
"That's right, keep at it," Lida added.
"Okay, I'll do my best."
"Serena... it's about time to go home or your mom will get angry," Lida pointed out.
"Oh, you're right... Well then... Bye bye, Zect-oniichan, Lida-oneechan."
"Bye bye," we both replied, waving goodbye.
As a child of Ceres and the goddess Ishtas, nothing he does surprises me anymore... but... oh well, it doesn't matter.
He's cute anyway.
